What are WhatsApp Channels & How to use them in Marketing

WhatsApp Channels are the latest feature from WhatsApp, created to help you reach your audience on WhatsApp. If you are a creator or influencer and have an audience, it's time to get them on WhatsApp Channels too.
They are basically one-way communication systems where a WhatsApp user can subscribe to you and receive all your posts and updates.
Only the 'admin' or the 'publishers' can interact on WhatsApp Channels. The rest of the members are only recipients and cannot publish the posts themselves.
This feature is available in selected countries now but will be rolled out globally soon.

Hi! In WhatsApp channels, members can see each other's names and profiles, so it's not fully anonymous.

You don't notify your contacts when you create a WhatsApp channel. Only if you send them a message they receive notification. On the other hand, your name would be visible if they check their WhatsApp contacts.

Can channels go live. I would love if this can be done. I would like to create a couples channel and stream a wedding to families and friends who can't attend. I know I could use zoom but it would be easier if what'sapp can do this because everyone has it.

Hi, WhatsApp does not support live streaming channels in the same way that platforms like CZcams or Twitch do. However, WhatsApp offers video calling, which can be a workaround for streaming events like a wedding.

Hello, no they are not notified who in particular is following this. This is only for Channels of course. If you follow a private account and view their status updates, they will get a read receipt, but public channels will not.
