SAME my husband always asks if I want to go to the beach and I’m like, well I washed my hair yesterday and that means if I go today I’ll have to wash my hair before it’s actually wash day again. I could wrap my hair in a scarf but then what if I get a weird tan line. Or is it even worth it when I actually hate the beach but want to go just to make you feel happy. 9/10 times I just say no lolll
Same thing when ppl want to sit around a fire. I’m like, my clothes will actually be dirty if I do this. My hair will smell. I’ll have to shower, etc. it’s a whole thing..

5:54 Sometimes after eating I get incredibly nauseous, my stomach feels like crap and yet I can never get that sweet "relief". Even drinking water at certain temp., makes me nauseous. Peanut butter, a childhood favorite, is the only one I can specifically point out (will still eat though). Chewing gum helps settle it. Always joked it was a parasite, good to know it's not something that will kill me

*Question for people who have been diagnosed for autism :*
I was not diagnosed with autism, but I’ll be honest videos like these make me think otherwise. And yes I know that things like tik tok and CZcams are not a good place to figure things like that out but I have most to all of the same mannerisms of an autistic teen and I have always had sosial anxiety but that could also be a sign of autism ( that’s what I have heard correct me if I’m wrong ) Some of which are:
fidgeting ; I get very upset at certain textures if food ; I feel like I want to have a break down if something is in my hair examples: hair clips, hair ties ; I prefer to be on my own ; I struggle with communication ; I have very strong intressts in specific things ; when sitting down i start swaying side-to-side ; when trying to make a disision I think of every outcome possible ; and way way more but those are the main ones
have tried talking to my mother about it but she won’t listen and that’s a big problem since I feel I should be checked for autism. I just want to know from someone who has been diagnosed with autism if this is something that should be checked out?

Totally do some research on that. From my experience, this sounds pretty close to it. Reminder that you don’t have to have every symptom to lie on the spectrum, so it’s absolutely possible that you are.

If people misperceive you all the time, you get build up of anger/emotion, and you feel isolated/excluded constantly like an alien that people automatically don’t like no matter how hard you try, then I would get a diagnosis. That’s how autism feels.

    • @marsstars682
      @marsstars682 Před rokem +2

I am also seeking a diagnosis for autism! Honestly, I would do a lot of research and maybe write down symptoms and reasons why you think you have autism. Maybe even write down some statistics about autism, too. Honestly, self diagnosis in the autism community is pretty widely accepted due to how difficult it is to get a diagnosis later in life, especially as a woman. You may feel uncomfortable doing that, which is fine, as I am still weary about doing that for myself as well, but you don't need a diagnosis to receive accommodations in most cases. Though I do know it would feel very validating to get that official diagnosis. Take some autism tests online and write down your scores. Not all of them are accurate, but doing many of them can get you a good idea of where you lie in terms of autism. Honestly, tik tok and CZcams arent actually as bad of a source for information as you may think. Many of the videos on these platforms are made by real people with autism who share their real experiences. It's a very good way to learn more about the disorder and what it looks like in real life, rather than the more clinical way psychologists usually look at it. I know this comment is a year old, so I hope you've progressed with your journey!

4:15 This is an ISSUE. You can see it is important, because it is all caps. You solve this ISSUE by using these pill organizers for old people. You see old people forget shit and you forget shit so you are basically target audience for the pill organizers. If you now are not sure if you took your pill: What day is it? What time is it? Is the pill for current day&time still there? no more guesswork and at the end of the week you can see that you still forgot to take your medicine three times this week. Yea your memory is shit because you forget to take the medicine that is supposed to help with your shit memory.

I have one from Amazon that’s shaped like a flower and is different colors for each day! It’s been the most helpful thing ever, because I put it somewhere different on my breakfast table, which is one place I refuse to make a catch-all, so when I go to pick up the random thing on my table, it’s already in my hands! Bye-bye executive dysfunction! The other trick I have is to say aloud what you’re doing. “I’m grabbing water for my pill!” then “I’m taking my pill!” then “I have taken my pill!”. Stupid voices are better. It makes the memory stick in the brain. Also, stare at the pill like it’s a tiger about to pounce until it’s in your mouth. This is coming from a girl who gave up on her meds after years because the question “how do you remember to take a memory pill?” could never be solved, to a person who honestly never forgot again.

I have the convo of the guy with medication when I play solitaire. Because I forget to take my vitamins anyway.
But in the morning I love to play Microsoft Solitaire's daily challenges. And sometimes I have a clear memory of me playing them the day before to find out I didn't. So I'm sitting there like: "I swear I played them yesterday. I did that on the bus. I'm not kidding. Wait what? I didn't play them? Then what about Sudoku? Oh dear! Why did I play all challenges except the last one? I thought I played them all!"
Or sometimes, this sounds will really weird if your not neurodivergent, I question myself whether I said something or not. Because I can't figure out if I said something out loud or not. If it was in my brain. I refuse to repeat myself or else if I did speak people are going to think I'm crazy for not knowing I said something out loud with sounds. And my brain goes: "Have I really said that? Or was it just in my brain?"

My friend. Affect. You mean "How ADHD Affects comedy."
"His actions affected me. The effect was deep."
Generally, "Affect," is a verb and refers to an Action impacting someone, while "Effect," is usually a noun and shows the End result.
You only really use Affect in a noun sense when you change the "A" from an "uh" to an "ah" and are referring to the way in which someone conveys feelings or whatever by way of vocal tone and facial expression (whether or not you have a "flat affect") but in a way is still referring to actions in the sense of whether or not you actively modulate your voice and move specific facial muscles in specific ways that somehow deliver information to people.
