    I would have definitely put the 105 series GTV in the place of the 80's GTV. The GT junior as well is just such a beautiful looking car. No normal car came close in the 60's and 70's - these were special machines. I had a 2lt Lancia Beta 20 years ago - not the same I know but still probably the most engaging driving experience in any car I've owned, including my BMW daily drive and my Porsche 944 project car. These weren't the fastest cars out there but boy did they make you feel good when you drove them with purpose.

    fun fact. please tell me if you disagree, alfa gtv 6 3.0 original birth came from South Africa from a local racing team, yes we are Alfa fans here aswell. I use to race against bmw e30 and fords with an old giulietta 1979 2.0 and a 1984 giulietta 1.8. ugly but what a motor. just look after theme as i learnd. my fav Alfa is a 155 touring car 1994 or 1995 Tarquini or narninis car aaaaaa this video just made my day.

  • @greygtv6
    @greygtv6 Před 7 lety +5

    It's purely subjective, but the 105 series GTV should be in the top 3. They beat everything on the road, and are still on the track especially the GTA. They had 5 speed and 4 wheel discs when others were using drum brakes and 4 speed boxes. Nothing ever touched them in their day and they are the most successful track car made by Alfa. All the modern Alfa sport cars are playing 'catch-up' and the 8C doesn't even have an Alfa motor although I would sell my soul for one. But I'm happy my GTV6 made the list. My '86 is still parked on my driveway and will never be sold if I can help it.

    • @RacingVoiceUK
      @RacingVoiceUK Před 7 lety

      I do love the GTV, and it was very tough for me to leave it out of the list, but I just feel it's not quite go the same Alfa essence as the others. But it is a very very VERY good car.
      And kudos on owning a GTV6, that proves you're a true petrolhead.

    UK people always forget the most important post war Alfa: the Giulia Berlina, this 4 door sedan from the sixties with its twin cam engine has been the basis for the GT GTV and Spider series. In fact the 1750 & 2000 Berlinas are also based on the Giulia. This is the car that put Alfa on the post war map like BMW's neue klasse did.

      @Antonio Farina The problem is that Alfas Romeo is obsessed with sales. They want to sell and for that reason, they made the Giulia with a more concensual appearance. Thus, there's a loss of originality and character at the expense of a design more similar to what Alfa Romeo has accustomed us to. The Giulia is wonderful as a car but terrible as an Alfa Romeo
