  • Our restoration of the 1885 III/34 Denman organ for St Lawrence Parish Church, York, is almost complete. Here's a preview - by our head voicer James Atherton - of how this flagship instrument of a York organ builder in the Victorian era is now sounding. This organ has not been heard for 20 years, and was in very poor condition for many years prior to that.
The organ was built for St Michael le Belfrey Church, York, and has been relocated to its new home in the course of the restoration. We're thrilled with how it looks and sounds, returned to its original specification and restored to first-class condition.
Listen out for the new Dolce 8', Gamba 8', Pierced Gamba 8, Viola 4', and Flute 4' that we have made and voiced as copies of Denman examples elsewhere.
    See project details at www.nicholsonor...
We switch the audio from the camera to a microphone at the head of the nave at 0:52.
