I know summer is basically over. I recorded this awhile ago 😅.. Anyways, let me know what you think. Links to the R&B vocals I use plus everything else used in the video can be found in the video description.
Think global Stef, it's spring time in South Africa. Dope beat
Haha, I feel you! Thank you man 🙏🏾
@@stefanguy yo. I am wondering in your opinion, what are the top 3 synths to use for RnB? Plug-ins that you can get the most out of for that Genre..!
Man I love that keyboard so much
She's a beaut!
The all white keys keyboard is sick
🔥🔥🔥 as always !
Thanks bro!!
Welcome To Nigeria... We Made This Sound Popular
That 808 is🔥🔥🔥
Brother your videos are ALWAYS amazing. My only gripe is that you need to upload more! Thanks for all the info. Consistently brilliant 👏🏼
Hey bro, thanks for the kind words appreciate you man! And you're right, I'm trying to be more consistent going forward 😅
Love this Stef❤
I’m always riding around to Afrobeat music with windows down in San Diego!
Afrobeats and warm weather, you can't go wrong bro!
LOVE THAT VIBES! With your channel, I've learned about these RnB progression chords that sound nice. Thanks a lot. Bless Up!
Yo thank you! Glad i've been able to share progressions with you!
FIRE per usual my Guy! 🔥🔥🔥🔥Good tip on the drum pattern too! Playing the typical pattern but substituting different drums is a really easy way to get a nice groove quickly! 👍🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thanks man! Yeah man, it def adds a lot to the groove!
yo this is sooo good!!
Thank you bro!
A vibe!!
Yes Sir.. Man thank you for the information. You videos make more sense than others. Keep teaching...
Hey man you’re welcome, thank you man, appreciate it!
Dang. I want that white S61. Kicking myself for not buying one when it was available.
Great video man! Love the tip about layering counter chords on top of your main ones, definitely some sound design ideas I want to explore using that.
Yo bro! Thank you man. Glad I could share that with you, it's always me loading sound design ideas from you haha! Love bro!
Love it bro ❤ I feel like I’ve been on Afro beats all summer long it’s just a really good vibe….dope video as usual!!!
Thank you bro! I was the same bro!!
Mann you’re so smooth. I would go sub only with the beat and vocals… then back to the guitar!
Thank you bro!! And I like that idea!
Great work bro, just starting out and vids like this are invaluable 👏🏾
Thank you bro! Glad I could share!
A tiny bit of Afrobeat, submerged in R&B, and tinged with Trap.
(Afrobeat will always pose a challenge to a non-Nigerian Producer, because Afrobeat is essentially native rhythm translated with Western or modern musical instruments.)
YESSSS WE NEED MORE OF THISSSS 🔥 🔥 🔥
loving this channel, great job man !
Thank you man!
Sweet Vibes 🎶
Thank you!
Nice Stefan !
Thank you!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you bro!
Glad to see a new video! I've been patiently waiting. More afrobeat videos would be 😎
Yo Khalid, appreciate you man. I'm committing to bi-weekly videos for the rest of the year as a minimum. So you'll see from me more consistently!
This was a dope cook-up. So in love with that white keyboard. Your videos are always uplifting.
" This beat sounds Komplete though. I would probably layer the chords on the Mint guitar with some Rhodes and reverse them." Greatly appreciate your content.🙏
Yo thank you man! I like the idea with the reversed rhodes, might give that a try!
You don’t miss bro
Appreciate you bro!
Love this! Insanely talented, keep up the amazing work. An.. 😉
Haha thanks Anu! I see you subscribed, Stef G 😉
Definitely gonna take advantage of that splice collection 🙏🏽 imma try to do at least one a day with those
Yo love to hear it. Sounds like a good challenge!
Need more bro 🔥 the hooks over top are too cold aswell, my man
Yo thank you bro. Dropping more same time next week! And yeah man, I love working with these hooks!
Big fan!
Much love bro!
That was dope!!!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you man!
Dope beat! If it were mine I'd add some saxophones and write a song 🤣
Thank you bro!! Saxophone is a good shout!
Sounds great bro! Keep it going 🔥
Thanks bro!
Sounds very amazing 🔥🔥🔥... Love the vibe you add to it... I think there's nothing left to add, i would've said some kind of vocal sample, but seems you added that in at the end of the video.
Keep up the good work fam! I've been following you for as long as i can remember and you've really helped me step up my rnb game as well as getting me to learn new chords and progressions. ❤️ Cheers
Hey man, thank you the kind words man, glad you liked this one and that the vids have been helping over the years! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@stefanguy ❤️ from 🇳🇬
Amazing talent. Beat came together so easy
fire as always bro bro
Thank you bro bro!
great video! just to let you know, you can change the voicing in Electric Mint which gives you more chords
Afro Rnb never fails🔥🔥🥲
Absolutely Beautiful Bruv✨
Definitely gotta dash in some sax 🎷 in there at some point too
Yo my brother, appreciate you man! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Always so inspiring. Could you make a video explain how to import sample to the Logic drums kits?? And how to set the Maschine to control it.
Thank you bro! For the samples I open up the drum machine designer and literally just drag and drop files onto it. But there’s other ways too so maybe a video is a good idea. With maschine simply put it in MIDI mode. Hold shift plus whatever button has MIDI mode above it. Then change it to either pad page C or D
Nice vibe 🔥🔥🔥
Yo brother, thank you man
More Afrobeats bro
You make it look easy
Thanks bro and noted!!
Fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you bro!
fire beat
Thank you man!
Stefan coming thru again... make it look so effortless. This is a nice vibe with the afrobeat influence. Love the 808 pattern.
Yoo Tony, hope you're good bro! Appreciate it man!
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks bro!
Too clean
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Niceee! 🌴
Thanks man!

Thanks man! It's the Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 Vapor Grey limited edition.
First viewer from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
Love bro!
I’m an Afro producer. This is spot on 🔥
Ah this means a lot man, appreciate you!
I always enjoy your music videos. Can email you somewhere about collaboration or possibly a paid commission?
Nice one! Next thing I would do is put my verse down. 👍🏾
Thanks bro!
Hi Stefan, I really like your desk setup. I have a 2 tier keyboard stand as well, but never thought of using a desktop on the bottom. Where did you get it?
Yo, yeah it's a pretty cool set up, the main keyboard being up there wasn't very ergonomic though so I've moved it now. I'm still using the desktop on the bottom though, I much prefer it. I've linked it here - sguy.co/18803 (affiliate link).
Edit - it's part of the K&M Omega keyboard stand so you'd need the main stand too - sguy.co/18810
awwwwwwwwwwwwwsomeeee
Thank you man!
Can you drop an Rnb drumkit? I need that
bro i want to be able to play the keyboard like you, where do i start and where do i end? thanks
I personally started by learning songs. It was slow, but it kept learning fun. It taught me loads of new chords. In between I'd learn the basics - scales, keys.
Playing in church I had to learn new songs every week. You can't not get good when you're doing something that much.
@@stefanguy thanks. appreciate.
@stefan guy please how do you transpose with your midi controller i bought one some time ago but i returned it because i couldnt find the key transpose options i would really appreciate it if you let me know may be i will buy another one with you link thanks
Hey bro! I transpose within my DAW Logic. You can’t do with the keyboard itself I don’t think. Let me know if you need to how.
where can I find the guitar loop at :29 seconds ?
Hey JC, so it's not actually a loop. I'm using Komplete Kontrol, every sound on Komplete Kontrol has a preview demo. You heard the preview demo for the sound I selected. It's from Electric Mint and can be recreated in Electric Mint - sguy.co/electric-mint
@@stefanguyI appreciate it Stefan
How do you find rnb vocal samples on splice, that don't sound like breathy pop vocals by people not of the culture.
Lol patience bro, it can be a slog at times trying to find good ones. That's why I've shared my collection. Origin Sound seem to do the best ones though.
p͎r͎o͎m͎o͎s͎m͎
Give it more bass but not that 808, more of a sustained bass.
Hey thanks for the feedback!
I unsubscribe from splice once I learned using their sounds can get you sued for infringement
I haven't heard of this, I'd love to learn more though, could you send me any info?
its good enough but i see u relay a lot on loops and splice.. i don't doubt your skills man but i wish things were different yk no hate just an honest opinion peace bro
Hey Envy, thanks for your comment.
Personally I don’t see anything wrong with using loops. It is akin to having a musician in your studio. I cannot play the guitar well, so I’ll either use and repurpose a loop, or call on a musician to play it in for me. Producing is bringing elements together. The same thing Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Quincy Jones and many others do and have done. They do not play everything themselves. They bring people and elements together. A skill in itself. I don’t think you have to play everything in yourself. As a keyboardist, any piano, synth element I can play, but things that cannot be emulated well on a keyboard, I may sample or call upon a musician to. On the flip side, I’m sometimes called to play keys for a sick beat maker who can’t play the idea in his head. But just as you’d direct the musician, you’d also tailor the loop. Many producers use Splice.
Of course I don’t think ones production should just be loops, but I don’t see nothing wrong in reshaping a loop.
Outside of CZcams I’d spend the time to do percussion etc. But when I’m filming for CZcams I’m trying to make things concise. I’m recording in 4K and working fast. You could do a whole video just on afrobeats percussion (I wouldn’t be the one to teach it) but there’s a lot of depth.
I appreciate the feedback though, don’t get me wrong. Maybe I should start bringing other musicians in to play other elements. Like I have my brother in the past, a drummer and bass player. The only thing is though, not everyone has access to musicians, so something like Splice is handing, even if just for demos.
