Man that's definitely a 90's joint right there. That was the age of the Epiano for real
For real. To be honest I miss that real piano vibe in current R&B music but hey I can always reload the classics for my own pleasure. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers 😀
@@MTTC we're still getting some of that today but just not like back then.
Just…WOW! What a vibe you’ve created. 90’s slow-jam R&B was everything.
Hey my friend. Thanks so very much for your very kind comment. I really appreciate it. Much more to come. In fact I am working on a 90s Boom Bap Hip Hop tutorial right now to be released hopefully by this weekend so watch out for that one. Cheers. 😀

And, second, for your intelligent workflow. And last for your imagination and creativity. I look forward to more. Peace.

90s R&B the greatest music for life.
Yes Lion. Some amazing music was created in the 90s. It’s one of my favourite periods of music development. Cheers 😀
just subbed and belled
Thanks so much for the sub and notification click. I really do appreciate it. I’ve now finished this song and it’s going to be on an album which I’ll be dropping within the next couple of weeks.I’ll post a link in the description as to where you can hear the full project. Your continued support would be greatly appreciated. One love. 🙏🏾
This is so good thank you the only thing I think it’s missing is triangles
Haha maybe I’ll add some triangles later. Thanks a lot for your feedback 😀
Holy shit, USE ARPREGGIATOR ON YOUR DRUMS. How tf I didn't know that until just now? Complete game changer for me. Subscribed
Yep! That was my reaction when I first learned this trick 😂. Thanks so much for the sub and the feedback. Cheers 😀
Using for smooth jazz r&b
Nice one 😀
T. Riley was a pioneer of New Jack Swing
Yes indeed. He’s also and incredibly talented musician raised on gospel music just like myself which greatly influenced his music and vocal productions. And as far as I’m concerned he’s a musical genius. 😀
Can you do a video on what you did to record the guitar? I’m a guitar player but always have trouble recording guitar parts into my songs
Sure thing. I’ll make sure I cover your request in an upcoming video. Cheers 😀
Great! 😍 Should an R&B singer songwriter work with a dj or a band when performing? Or just a back track of the file you made at home in your program? (I use ableton live)
Great question. It all depends on the feel of your music, the venues you will be performing at, the audience you appeal to and the eneergy you want to convey when on stage. There is nothing that beats a singer supported by a full live band, with backing vocalists, no matter what the venue. However, the modern audiences are becoming more used to vocal performances delivered to backing tracks so that can be an option. Maybe start there and see what impact you have then add more to your line up as you go along. Cheers😀
mans a genius
Thanks for the kind words my friend. I just love what I do and if it helps others then we all win. Cheers 🙏🏾
i really wish this was for FL Studio, nonetheless, this helped so much thank you
I'm glad you watched anyway despite it being a Logic video. Thanks for your feedback too. Cheers 😊
Have you used any other DAWS besides FL? I started off with FL over a decade ago, but the workflow is so slow compared to other DAWS. My biggest thing with FL is having to pull up the mixer to add plugins. You should try Ableton or Pro Tools. It's way faster and an easier workflow.
All daws are the same essentially, what i need is a synth piano 😭
This was a great video. As a guitarist, I enjoyed the track you laid down. Thanks for sharing some valuable tips, as always. Big fan of your work! I'd like to know what 808 Bass you used?
Awesome brother!!! Thanks for your great feedback. Most appreciated. I will post a download link in the video description to the ES2 808 Bass preset later on today. Cheers😀
hi iam setting up my studio and rnb is my thing, especially90s and early 2000s. can you point me to where i can get those instrument textures?
and were rnb drums often layered? they sounded so punchy but cute!
my favorite Babyface song is "The Loneliness" and i am searching everywhere for knowledge on how to get those drums on this babyface song. they were juicy, fat and punchy at the same time! wow!!
can you educate please?
and you just got another subscriber
Hey bro thanks for your message. Yes 90s R&B is very special to me also. Jam and Lewis from the 80s then LaFace for the 90s (early).
Loneliness by Babyface is an absolute gem. Given that he was the king of producing R&B during this period he knew exactly what sounds would work for this song to shine. The drums are very well processed and I suspect are samples or straight from a drum machine. The rest is mainly acoustic instruments like guitar and strings. The bass is a synth bass and there are some nice pads too. The key however to beautiful tone of this song is the space created in the music. You will notice that not too many instruments are playing all at once which allows the drums, vocals and guitar to dominate. It brilliant in terms of production and a great example of how less can be more.
Thanks for the sun bro and keep watching. Cheers 😀
How do you deal with creation fatigue? I need to get back to creating but I feel like, idk drained or like I need a break or something idk... New sub hear - Gr8 content - You should do live listens to creators and provide live feedback for creators..
Firstly thanks so much for commenting and for your sub. I really do appreciate it. Regarding creative burnout I know exactly what you mean. I go through phases of that at least 3 times a year. I’m used to going pretty hard when I’m in the zone but that inevitably causes draining of my energy. At that point I completely stop and focus on other things for a good long spell until the hunger returns then I dive back in. My advice to you is to walk away from your DAW for a while and devote time to another fulfilling activity until the hunger returns.
And yes, my live streaming plan will be launched this year. I truly value your comment. You get this month’s 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@MTTC I love chill and 90s type tracks - I learned from you that even if you like the sound, the percussion section has to have some modern approaches (and it seems trap hats are the flavor of the decade).. Look into discord -you could have your own channel and have virtual teachings, classes, lessons and even studios time that shows your screen and allow you to communicate to people remotely and allows them to work in a studio and show their screen, provide the audio and speak to others in the same room.. (look up a public producer discord and join to take a look if your not familiar - I think you could leverage the tech a lot better than any group I have seen so far).
Nice work. And beautifully paced video too. Would love that ES2 patch...???
Thanks so much for your feedback. I will have a download link to the ES2 patch in the description later today. Cheers😀
Continuing on the topic of 90s R&B sounds, any chance you could lay down a track reminiscent of R. Kelly’s 12 Play sound?
Yeah that’s a cool idea. I’ll work on something along those lines. 😀
Looking forward to it! Hope it’ll have that slow jam/Quiet Storm vibe to it also.
what do you put on you master fader, track sound real good G?
Thanks a lot bro. My Master Fader is always set to 0dB. Never above or below. Check my video on Gain Staging to find out why. Cheers😀
BTW, what program are you using to tell what chords you're playing?
The program is 4drX VirtualKeyboard costs 22€
What did you use for the synth bells?
The bell sound I used is from a sample which I loaded and mapped in the EXS24 Sampler at the time.
Cheers 😀
Duce
Where can I find the track you used in the background?
Hey there. Thanks for your question. The track you mentioned from the intro is called Transitions and I am planning to release this one in the next month or so. Once it goes out on Spotify I will most certainly mention it in my CZcams video. Thanks very much for asking it means a lot. Cheers😀.
Where did you get those drums from?
Hmmm? I have a huge library of drum samples going back decades. However I am still find great One Shots and Grooves on Splice. I honestly cannot remember where these samples came from. Cheers 😊
where is a full song? best beat of your works.
Dropping in about 3 weeks time. Will update the description once it drops. Thanks for your feedback 😀
whats the song you had in the intro?
That’s a song on my new album dropping soon in the new year. I’ll hit you up once it’s out. Cheers 😀
@@MTTC It's been time brother

Thanks for commenting. I’m not sure what 78 means but I appreciate you leaving feedback. Cheers 😀
real question is how you learn all them chords? :)
Indeed. Now that’s the challenge which if undertaken will move you to another level. I’m finally learning to play the guitar 🎸 properly right now and that’s part of the pain on the journey 🙂
50,000 takes later 😂 i know the struggle
😂
Bruh. I thought i was going to get a tutorial from timbaland
😂😂😂😂😂 I hope I did not disappoint. I get this all the time. Thanks for your great feedback. Cheers😀
