    I have 2 pairs of Bosses... the black pair and the white/navy pair. By far the most comfortable bowling shoe I've ever had. I also like that they give you more soles in the box. my biggest gripe... not enough choices on heels... you either have the slidey felt or the stop-on-a-dime rubber... nothing in between. Comparing them to the Dexter heels, its like have an 10 and a 2 and you want a 6. I am also a HUGE toe dragger and I bought the Hammer Force when they came out and they only lasted 6 months before the replaceable sole on the right shoe started flapping up. KR (the makers) was very understanding and sent me the black Boss for only shipping. I will say it holds up better... it's not the rubber but the replaceable sole that causes the problem. Now... I have replaced that sole with a Dexter power-step. Now while it looks a bit goofy, it solves my problem 100%. That being said... the Boss is a good shoe... comfy as hell and more durable... just would like another heel option. I also wear a wide shoe and these are plenty wide... almost too wide. My nephew has that SST6 BOA and they work great for him but the sliver fabric is peeling and cracking for him. interesting.

    Considering getting a pair of Dexter SST 6's. How's the fit? Do they run true to size? I'm normally an 8.5 but i keep hearing they run a little big. is that true?

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 5 lety +3

      Hey Joe! That is a great choice! I found that they are true to size but the toe box is wide. If you have narrow feet you may consider a half size smaller. Hope that helps! Make sure to subscribe and hit That notification bell!

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 5 lety

      Tyler Armour That is a great question! no, I didn’t change them. Simply because I am used to bowling with the number 7 slide sole that was already on the shoe. If I did change them, I would have had inaccurate results due to me not being used to more or less slide. Thanks for watching!

    Is the SST 8 Pro basically an upgrade of these Dexters?

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 5 lety

      That’s a great question! In my experience, I find that the term “pro” is thrown around frequently. That being said they are both “Pro” quality shoes. They will have similar performance specs and similar prices. It all boils down to personal preference in lacing styles and fit. I recommend going to your local pro shop and trying both pairs on before making your final decision.

    I am in doubt between this dexter sst6 and an ultra 3G, I would like your opinion, what would be the best cost benefit

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 5 lety +1

      That is a great question! I have personally bowled with both of those shoes. I have found that when it comes to bowling shoes it is mainly about a players “feel”. I always recommend you go to your local pro shop and try on both pairs. Personally, I prefer the SST6 shoes, but as I said that is just a personal preference. As far as the cost is concerned, I wouldn’t worry about spending a few extra bucks. Keep in mind both of these shoes are high performance and will last you a really long time. I hope this helps!

    • @boxiii
      @boxiii  Před 4 lety +1

      Do you have wide feet? If you have a wide foot, the sst6 would probably be more comfortable since it has a wide toe box. If not I would go with the 9 all day. (I currently use the 9)

    The Dexter SST 6 is the best bowling shoe ever made. But I find it hard to believe that Hammer is capable of making performance bowling shoes. I suspect that all non-Dexter performance bowling shoes are really rebranded Dexters sold under names like Hammer and Storm.

    • @dannytolentino6435
      @dannytolentino6435 Před 4 lety

      Storms are made by Dexter but Hammer was made by KR. They are now out-of-production and you can get Hammers dirt cheap because of the branding issue after the sale to Brunswick. KR is now selling the Bosses under their own brand with a new name... slips my mind at the moment... but much more inexpensive.

    • @drwisdom1
      @drwisdom1 Před 4 lety

      @@dannytolentino6435 I got a purple and black 4 ball KR rolling bag around 20 years ago. All the zippers would jam causing frustration and swearing. I couldn't even use the side pockets. Finally bought a 4 ball Storm bag two years ago to replace it. It isn't that heavy duty, so I don't know how long it will last, but all the zippers work with ease so it was worth it.

    • @drwisdom1

      I got a pair of Dexter SST 5s in 1998 and they lasted until 2015 when I got a pair of SST 6s. Of course I have to replace the sliding sole, which I do about every two years. I really could have kept using the 5s but the 6s were on sale for $99 with free shipping. After over 4 years of two leagues a week, the 6s are still like new.
