You can’t go wrong with the Dexter SST8. They cost a bit of change but with the comfort & durability that they provide it’s well worth it.

There ARE even lower price point options available from certain online retailers...Been wearing mine for over a year now a few times a week. Suprised they have not fallen apart....yet. I would ONLY recommend them if you insist on getting a PERSONAL pair of shoes so you dont have to rely on those icky rentals. I have progressed far enough along that I can reasonably shop at the higher price points now. THANK YOU guys for the lovely breakdown and recommendations. What would be helpful in the future is a rundown on particular ball surfaces and the best/recommended cleaners for them. And Oil wiping frequency and tools. I.E.: Shammy pad/towel/"seesaw" I see so many variations out in the world and it can get daunting.

I’m wearing the Dexter Colorshift BOA the 9s. They are very good. I love interchangeable shoes, they are a must have if you are a serious bowler. Also, the colorshift is really cool when you flash a flash light on the shoes, they are reflective and look really cool 😅😅

Finally, a great shoe video, I've had a pair of Dexter SST5's for probably 15+ years and I just replaced the pads...and they are still in great shape. But I'm looking for something new and the Hammer and Motiv shoes look great...not sold on the BOA concept just yet, maybe you can do a video on some BOA shoes. Thanks,

I’ve been in the market for a new pair of bowling shoes since the last pair I had burned up in a forest fire I was considering looking into some thing in the dexter lineup with the boa system, but hearing that they don’t come with extra inner changeable heels and souls in that they are expensive it’s got me actually considering the hammer diesel shoes

I absolutely loved my SST5 Boa's, but they split on a seam. I replaced them with SST8 Boas, but whilst both are wide, the SST8 is clearly a much narrower last overall as it's no where near as wide as the SST5's. I wish i could have got the C9 in a wide, but I'm restricted by what I could get in the 3 weeks I was in the states. No where sells wides in the UK

Beware of the ambidextrous shoes. I had a pair of Dexter SST8's and I drag my non slide foot on the toes. I had a bad habit of peeling the push sole from the shoe and causing a tripping hazard. I would recommend staying away from that type of shoe. I have since gone to the Brunswick Team with fully interchangable slide soles and heels. Years ago it was Linds as they were the best shoes ever made

I got the KR Strikeforce Men’s Flyers off of Amazon. Honestly, I wanted something more like a tennis shoe and felt light on my foot. I paid about $50 for them, and I love them. For someone like me, who’s a casual/twice a week kind of bowler, goes out with the family to bowl, I love these shoes. Going from rentals to your own shoes is a HUGE transition. But, once broke in, I haven’t rented ever again. Plus, you save so much money in the long run. I’ve already made my money back with how much we bowl as a family.
