the new clans are royal families basically, if the leader of the family is a king and they die the kingdom gets passed down til the last person so thats why they elect elders
You could make two nations in the bottom left and up right corners of the islands and whenever one of them conqueres an island, they get a random attribute
Have you tried a good-traits vs bad-traits map? Stick all the bad traits to one side, all the good ones to the other, then see how their descendants end up.

You should do something with over population, maybe you could give one nation a very small area of land, but like 500 people to start. Then have another nation live in a large area of land, but only give them 50 people.

You should make a video of relocating islands. Start with a 10x10 grid or whatever but only 4 starting islands for 4 different colonies. Then every 50-100 years the islands sink and reappear somewhere else on the grid.
I feel like the war bows wasn't misleading.. it was an example of English being a really stupid, confusing language. They didn't fight with archery.. but etiquette. 😂
