  • This is my $30 grocery budget challenge where I decided to be extremely frugal for one week and only spend $30 for everything we ate this week. I did not use any extra ingredients from my pantry with the exception of oil, salt and pepper. I made over 42 meal this week with only $30!
    So come on and shop with me, cook with me, and see what’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner this week at the Green’s house!
    If you want to see exactly how much each item was and what we ate each day then you can click on over to my blog post about this challenge. greensavesyougreen.com/one-we...

    Boy, I think you did awesome making so much for so little $, if you had another 5-10 bucks more you could’ve got a little more veg and maybe bananas and some other fruit, another pack of penna or Mac to make the soup more hearty. I am amazed at your adaptability girl, good job!

    This just proves how much I overthink food. You did so good! I’m always wasting food especially fruits and veggies because some weeks my kids finish everything in 2 days and other weeks they go on fruit and veggie strikes lol

    • @psymompa
      @psymompa Před 4 lety +7

      My teenagers are the same. I just end up cutting and freezing the fruits and veggies that I know we will not eat. This alone has stopped most of our food waste. We also do a leftover dinner night to clean out the fridge.
      Composting also helps.

    Your nachos inspired me to make my favorite nachos dish. Nachos with kale, beans, corn, and cheese. Amazing (I know its tortilla chips, I call it nachos)

    Great creativity! Congratulations. In most videos the people eat the same over and over again.

    Great shopping for one week, for 2 people, at Family Dollar. Not choice my choice for a food store but you do what you have to.

    If you buy a package or box of non-fat dry milk, you can make a cup of milk as needed.

    You are absolutely fabulous. Do you ever stock up on anything like soda or water? You should definitely do more in store grocery shopping videos and maybe even some bigger hauls

      Thanks!! We don't really drink too much soda, and we do buy bottled water but I am trying to get out of the habit since we have gotten a water purifier on our faucet. But I love to stock up on meat and pantry items. My dad tells me I'm a food hoarder. lol

      Preppers are people who prepare and plan. Hoarders don't have an idea of what they will do with what they obtain

    Really nice meals for 2 people on $30. For some reason the sound went out about a third of the way through. I’ve rewound a couple of times and the sound is on until after you put the chicken in the instapot. I had to use the captioning after that.

    When you added that water to the instant pot...i remembered I had to use the restroom lol 😆 the sound effects are real but they don't bother me much

      I guess it just depends on location. I live in a pretty small town and that’s what we have.
