Yes, Celine Dion's voice was higher-pitched than Whitney Houston's voice of the early 90s. But Whitney Houston's voice between 1983-1988 was very high-pitched, I would say equal or more than Celine's.

yes, it's exactly the same. she was better in this stage of her career though that's for sure; it was before she developed vocal issues and the prerecorded performances became more and more obvious. she often uses a backing track to fill in the challenging parts and really sings the easier parts - quite clever.
@jeraldisme Yeah but Celine makes this her own, and she sings it so much better. I can't EVER imagine Mariah singing a song like this with such passion and feeling.

many people don't realise that celine hardly ever sings live, not since the late 90's at least. at las vegas and at her concerts its all pre-recorded. they are very clever though and change the recording to make sure people don't get suspicious.

One clue that this is a highly engineered performance -- and overdubbing or lip-synching should be suspected -- is that the camera is all up in her face. How many concerts have you been to where the camera crosses directly in front of the artist and is only a few feet away from her? This strongly suggests shenanigans to me, as does a physicality that is disconnected from the sounds coming out of her mouth. No knock on her as a vocalist but there's reason to suspect this is not a true live performance.
it was live..the camera zeros in as they did back days past..it was never in her face..she never once lip sung any of her songs..she blew them away live..this video was spectacular..she can sing on a shiny dime
