I have a brand new Vicks speed read and it gives wildly different readings after taking my temp multiple times in a row. 97.9, 98.8 then 99.2.I tested it against an old mercury thermometer which read at 98.6. One time it was the same as the Mercury one. Other times not. I've seen reviews on the Vicks one and people had the same experience as I did so now I don't trust it. Thank you for the review though. :)
@@LEARNINGCHORDS Thanks for your comment. I use digital thermometers for cooking and grilling. The same holds true, they are great as long as the battery works. Always good to have the old mercury back up's. The digitals are nice because of their speed and in most cases their accuracy. Thanks for the review!
The notion that you can get an accurate reading with or talking with a thermometer in your mouth is preposterous. Even breathing through your moth between readings affects it. Next time try armpit readings and don’t move.

Thanks for the video. I changed the battery and it changed to Celsius and you video was a great help.

I have a comfort tip and mine uses CR1225. Just order replacement from Amazon. The battery box label says, Vicks Thermometer .
I bought 2 of these. so far I think they are 100% accurate but I will never know but They are the best I have bought so far

Good thermometer, the battery is a little tricky to deal with. Especially if you have sausage fingers 😂
