Honorable Mention to 'South Park: The Fractured But Whole'. If you keep trying to skip the opening cutscene, Cartman scolds you and sends you directly to the end credits. 🤣
The South park games are two of the most underrated games of all time I loved them and want more of them
Yeah 🤣🤣🤣😆😂
so you beat th egame
@@Wooldrog just incase you didn't hear there's a new south park game on the way! :D
@@TheXPower98 really I hadn't heard thanks
Used to replay MGS: Twin Snakes on Gamecube just to listen to the codec calls again. So good.
You gentlemen have good tastes in games. I too did that with the original 3 MGS.
It’s a thing in every mgs
Get a job!
@@randomxddperuna5038 How bout no?👈
I must've played MGS2 Sons of Liberty like 15 times
I remember having the Barbas-Quest for half my playthrough so he followed me along and I had 2 companions.
Was really helpful.
I am always happy to get rid of companions asap, as they get in my way all the time. I put my extra stuff in my chests at home so I don't need people to carry stuff. And Barbas annoyed me by constant barking and Serana complaining about weather xD
@@FluffySylveonBoi hahahha true dat! I tried to maxed out their equipment, send them into an arena-room and sniped the bosses while they were killing the companion 10x or more haha
Once I leveled up and got great skills, I got rid of them. But they often saved my ass during early- and mid-game.
@@FluffySylveonBoi you can push Serna in lava then leave quick and she won't follow you
Yes, killing the entire Sandpeople camp in KotOR is an option (especially if you're playing Dark Side,) but it does turn the difficulty to 11.
It was fun.
What fun what fun.
The laser turrets outside are what I remember being a big problem if you don't have the tools for them yeah. Even the chieftain themself was easier for me than all the turrets I think.
downloading kotor.... downloading...
@@lonewanderer9982 lol what? 😆
Re: A Daedra's Best Friend: What you SHOULD do is completely ignore the quest marker after starting the quest and KEEP Barbas. That way you can have an invincible attack dog as a follower.
yes i agree, nvr finish the quest, hes op doggo
The daedra aren't gods just powerful demons and the mask sucks
@@mcbdllc136 what no that's not true. Damn boy you need study up on your Skyrim lore.
@@GAMEOVERttp they are gods call them what you want i know a couple aren't inherently evil but still they can only do so much. Their not omnipresent or omnipotent they can't tell the future none of that they can't even create anything in the physical realm I know elder scrolls lore been playing it for years my boi
@@GAMEOVERttp if we're talking Daedric prince's there's also half deadra half aedra pretty much just really powerful angels only one God and thats the God head. The last dragonborn is technically demi angel because ties of divinity the chosen one not by blood but divine Provence
I remember I didn’t finish the Skyrim quest and kept the dog as my personal immortal pet, only downsides of having him was that I couldn’t use storm call cos it’ll attack him and he’ll go awol and attack u and the fact that this dog just blocks u in rooms when u try to leave
I kept him for a while, as he serves as a powerful companion that can be used with other companions. But the reason I got rid of him was because he CONSTANTLY bump into you at the most annoying times.
OMG. Some 5+ years later and I'm just getting the joke. The Rueful Axe as in roof roof, the sounds dogs make.
Lol the half demon lord dog that runs up on people with arrows, swords, magic, etc just bites at them its always funny
Title: Dialogue you shouldn’t skip in games
Thumbnail: a movie
New year old mistakes.
If you want any sort of immersion in a game, or sense of purpose in what you're doing, don't skip dialogue
AKA Play the game correctly.
Never skip cutscenes if ur looking for a good story
Obviously
No shit Sherlock
A friend's bf said he didn't like The Witcher 3. He thought the story wasn't interesting. Turns out, he skipped so much of the dialogue and cut scenes that he didn't even know the basic story. What a waste.
@@madalice5134 one of my friends recommended Witcher 3 to me but when I found out that it had monsters and shit like that I lost interest
cutscenes are one thing, boring, never-ending text reading "dialogue" is something else.
Even if I'm not into a story of a game, I don't skip cutscenes unless I beat the game first and I'm on my second playthrough.
Happy New year to the whole team
Happy New year
I easily got both good moral endings in the first 2 Metro Games, because I love the lore and wanted listen, so I had no idea me caring about the world was what gave me my blind playthrough good ending first try
Well I never skip a dialogue XD I love reading stories and knowing more into the universe I am. I always read secondary npc before clicking on a quest I always choose every option to read to know more then I proceed.
I would never skip dialogues in games that have voice acting, because I like to appreciate the writers and voice actors that worked on the game.
Me too!
I listen the first time or I just read the subtitle cause sometimes they speak too slow and I sometimes don't care to listen all day. I hate when people have long lines of dialogue that are skipped altogether when you skip a line. Deus Ex HR sometimes did that
Haha. #6. I didn't even know getting along with the sand people was an option. I just remember they started attacking me and they were all hostile from then on. I actually preferred it that way though. Going around the desert area and killing them all was good experience.
Yeah, you can collect the disguises in the Dune Sea, sneak into the encampment and negotiate with them. You can even give one of them the Krayt Dragon Pearl and learn their history. But after doing that once, I just keep the pearl, put it in one of my lightsabers, then use it to slaughter all of them.
Here’s to another solid year of Gameranx videos boys 🍻 making life a little more bearable everyday with your videos..thank you! And 🥳 Happy New Year. All the best in 2022
Cheers my friend… Here’s to binge-watching Gameranx daily in 2022 🍻
TheGlaabFather yes brother! cheers🍻
I do my best to pay attention to every dialogue that I come across, even/especially if it’s from an unnamed NPC. Sometimes that stuff is important (usually foreshadowing)
Same
Well in Ys 9 one of npc that are some random street cleaning guy with no voice is a main "antagonist" of the game. when he revealed it at the end of the game I didn't know who he was talking about tbh, because he was just a random npc in a city filled with random npc
Sometimes tho, I try to beat the ass off of NPCs.
Cool story bro
"Do you get to the cloud district very often?"
The deus ex one got me. I had to drag a turret up there so I wouldn't die because that level became so hard
Drove me nuts trying to figure out what I had done wrong. I muddled though, but it was a bitch to beat. Next time through, I knew better.
I just put off going to the clinic
I don't remember why, its been so long
It never tells you and never foreshadow anything thr guy is a dumb ass. 100% it and never saw anything the upgrade also GIVS you extra upgrades to use for your augments. So it is the BEST and Better option. The boss fight it pretty straight forward
Thank you for the video! Happy New Year
Happy new year
In Skyrim, the main quest in Markarth. If you skip the dialogue and don't read journals, once you get imprisoned you will most likely help the king in rags escape when he was the reason everything started in the first place. He's the one who ordered a hit on Margaret and you and he's the one that got you imprisoned.
By the nine!? How on Nirn do you know all that?
Sometimes it'll be too long then ill skip knowing ill regret it later cause it'll be something to do with lore or how to get an op secret weapon
nice for including metro, it really did have so much hidden.
Shout out to Curved Space, which came out a few months ago. It ended up having some pretty good dialogue that is given to you via the Dual Sense controller speaker. First time I've paid attention to what is usually a throwaway gimmick.
I've actually been playing Earthbound since I was a kid (in the 90's), and even with that I got stuck/stumped with the password thing while replaying the game a couple years back. I got super frustrated at first cause I went right to the place, knew "where" to go, but didn't know what to do. So I spent an hour running around backtracking shit (as newer games often make you do for this kind of stuff). Felt like a complete moron when I remembered the trick.
I never skip dialog the first time through a game. It blows my mind that people do, like how do you get the context of what you're supposed to be doing?
Frankly, skipping dialog in your very first playthrough shouldn't even be enabled. In a NG, or whatever your second playthrough is called? Enable it.
I never skip dialogue, especially if it's voiced, unless it's a second play through or it's pointless tutorial crap I already know.
I gotta say though, Barbas is so annoying, but you have to spare him to get the Daedric artifact.
i just watched about 3 hours of Gameranx, how is it possible that Falcon sounds every video differently. its like one time recording in nice studio and another time while doing business on toilet 🤣
GTA Online actually makes me miss the days of text only dialogue and being able to skip it. Any mission in GTA Online with it will forces you to listen to the same voice acting every single time, and if you bring up a menu so that it wont play, then the objective usually will not appear.
Shadowrun : Hong Kong. A bunch of different endings based on how you negotiate with a demon queen. It's a long dialog sequence and the only way to get the best ending is to have talked to the people who knew the legends often enough, and encouraged them in the right ways, to know exactly what the demon's weaknesses are. If you've paid attention and remembered, it's stressful but not particularly hard to talk her back to the hellplace she came from without giving away anything.
The alternatives are progressively less successful forms of "winning."
Always nice to see these unique list ideas from you guys. Happy new year.
That Final Fantasy 4 "Magnetic Cave" was a great deep-cut. Bravo!
Cough cough most of my friends who play online games trying story based games for the first time cough cough
As a kid I skipped everything. In my 20's I read everything. Now in my 30's back to skipping. Lol
Cool video -- didnt know about most of these! It will save me as im playing Skyrim for the first time in years and would have probably messed that one up.
Thank God for the gameranx team you guys keep me up to date even when I I don't have a lot of time to play.
Playing guardians of the galaxy right now and damn, that game have an insane amount of dialogue. Love it.
Same for Mass effect games.
Thank you for the video and the help with the tips real good advice 😃
I played zelda twilight princess at a friend's house and skipped a cutscene and suddenly link was a furry and i was very confused
I remember that if you keep skipping dialogues on South Park: The Fractured But Whole intro, Cartman will get mad and will proceed to fast forward the game to the end credits.
A similar thing exists in Fallout 4 where if you keep skipping dialogue then the NPC’s will get very annoyed with you
HAPPY New Yeae Gameranx keep up the great Content!
Y'all need to make a mini series. As soon as the vid ended I was already looking for a part too, then I was you posted it today 😩😩😩😩
Was fully expecting ff14 msq on here seeing as it is a huge thing in mmo meme culture. Do not skip cutscenes!!!!! 😎
I was looking for more ff14 comments lmao
"Not replacing the biochip is the most obvious thing ". I feel personally attacked
And the video only scratched the surface of how much you have to miss to fall for it. You actually learn about the replacement biochips when you go through TYM, ages before the glitches start.
Even if you miss that, you know the media headquarters is an enemy stronghold, you know the anchor is a robot spinning things their way, and you know that TYM is an enemy stronghold. Your enemy is telling you that to solve your problem you need to put a chip in your brain that was made by your enemy.
And it's been a few years but I'm pretty sure there are literally billboards that give the endorsements of groups you know are your enemies when you decided to get brain surgery.
There is bearly any evidence he is a dumb ass and also getting the chip GIVES you extra upgrades to upgrade your augments so it is overal thr BEST choice lol
I love everything about this channel other than the fact that a falcon is talking like a human for some reason
Yup I fell for that Deus Ex HR trap. The thing is I had little patience whenever I saw those glitches and every time it happened I died. Fighting the boss at that point was interesting!
yep that is why you should never trust your lovely government and their overlords private corporations and banks ....
I'm pretty sure the first time I played it I did the same thing, and then got to that boss fight where the augs where shut off. I did have a save prior to getting the chip replaced so I just went back to that point and didn't do it.
How did it get you killed? There are maybe four times the glitch gets triggered and none of them are a combat situation.
You can see in their comments that Gameranx truly play the whole games and not just tell you the basic like any could do
I recently bought sekiro and omg that shits soooooo hard!! Its relevant cuz I've heard people talk about it but never absorbed the "it's dark souls levels of difficulty" but instead just that it's an amazing game. "Selective listening"
Reading this comment section makes me glad to know that I'm not the only one who never skips dialogue. A good writer _never_ puts in a piece of dialogue that doesn't serve some kind of purpose, so I always try to pay attention to what is said during conversations. The only dialogue I ever skip is on second playthroughs or with lines that are often repeated, like the ones you get by talking to vendors and such.
I mean if you're so impatient that you have to shoot something in the face every 5 seconds just so you don't lose interest, then either dont play story based games or dont complain if skipping stuff ruined your experience. And this is coming from a guy with ADHD lol
Everyone is so impatient these days. I cant stand when i watch gameplay and people skip dialogue. It's their gameplay though so I guess it's their decision.
I thought this was going to be a video about 10 dialouge cutscenes you shouldn't skip because they are story important, emotional moments you don't want to miss, or badass moments.
Awww you are adorable ^w^
It's kind of funny for metro 2033 that you have to go through so much work for the good ending and yet the bad ending is canon. I just always found it interesting as it's one of the only games that the bad ending is canon.
Not ultimately life-altering or game breaking, but dialog with Conrad Verner across all three Mass Effect games is surprisingly interesting and has variable outcomes. I skipped past him first time through, but the results of talking with him a certain way in ME 1 were fun to watch play out. But that’s just one example. So many interesting things result from seemingly inconsequential conversations in those games.
Lol just yesterday I have finished that doggy mission in Skyrim, and today you upload a video about it . What a coincidence
I just love it when I get the pop up saying "Someone has liked your comment" or "Someone has subscribed!" It makes my day! Happy New Years!❤🍻🍻🍾🍾🔥🔥🎆🎆🎉🎉----
I never skips any dialogues or cutscenes, except when I lost to a boss fight to start again or trying to get an achievement.
For 2nd Playthrough, I still want to watch and listen to them cuz that’s the major part of the game.
Another fun fact about A Daedras Best Friend, if you just don't finish the mission, you keep Barbas as an extra companion that's invincible
Fun fact: Serana is leagues better.
"you probably think killing the dog is what you're supposed to do"
if you're a sociopath, sure.
damn, nice, thanks for making this video!
I love Barbas' voice. It's so perfect for a talking dog.
oof dead money was rough. I had to read the terminal just to see. Such a great game
Metro 'good ending' depends on the PC having empathy for others, which is why you have to exhibit interest in their lives by listening to their troubles as well as being helpful.
Happy 2022! we still here for more vids
A good mention is in Animal Crossing gamecube. If you reset without resetting, Mr. Resetti will show up and yap at you for so damn long. If you keep tapping the B button, he'll get mad and scream "TAP TAP TAP THAT'S ALL YOU DO." Or something to that extent. Making a comment on you skipping. It's funny as hell tbh.
Skipping dialogue is for those playing new game plus
There’s nothing worse when the game glitches out the dialogue audio and text yes I’m looking at you assassins creed Valhalla
Terminator: Resistance is One of these games where you have to not only listen to all character dialogue but also choose the correct answer in order to get the good ending. This game doesn't get enough love.
Happy New Years and cool video
Happy new year
God who remembers the grandma flexingtons story from borderlands 2. They made it so you have to listen her talk because she will ask questions and if you fail she starts again lmao. Hilarious side quest tho.
Kingdom Come Deliverence is a good one with the town priest where next day you have to give a sermen on what he said the nite before whilst getting totally drunk with him
i remember being stuck at the earthbound one back when i was a kid
You could have done a list of feelings ONLY gamers experience and included the feeling of accidentally skipping something you shouldn’t have.
The only legendary dialogue is " you picked the wrong house fool"
If you have Dawnguard, the Smith that explains about the dog can be killed by oh so common vampire attacks too. Can make this quest even more difficult.
The Deus Ex one really screwed me over, something in my gut told me to not get the replacement chip but I did any way. I had a real rough time with the final boss lol
Well how do you fix the old chip?
@@swapniljoshi2939 you just go without fixing it, they swindle you into believing you need one. When you get the upgrade, everything goes to shit lol. I never went back to finish it without getting the upgrade so I cannot say if it still glitches. I just know the upgrade made the final boss way harder.
I honestly do not know how anyone could fall for the chip.
When you go through TYM on the first Hengsha trip there are tons of emails and dialog about how they are working on a massive order of biochips using a schematic no one knows where it came from. This is ages before the glitches start up. Following the glitches, they announce that TYM has fixed the problem and is providing free biochips for everyone.
This announcement is made by the news organization you know is the Illuminati mouthpiece, you know TYM's CEO is an Illuminatus, and if you did play the original DX the backing of WHO leader BETH DUCLAIRE should be a warning flag the size of a small mountain, or at least a Parisian mansion.
And even if, somehow, you missed all of that, you're dealing with an enemy that has a pattern of making superpowerful people controllable by sabotaging their augmentations.
And even if you missed THAT, hopefully you know that your augs were made by Sarif, not TYM, so the lie doesn't even slightly make sense in the first place.
@@Ryvaken lmao goodness, I missed all of that. I never played the first and this was during my youth, so I’m more than positive all that blew right passed me. I also believe I was rushing to finish the game so I can return it to gamestop and exchange it for another game within the 7 day used game policy. Now I make sure to read everything I find!
There is a reason to save Morinth; unlocking Dominate, the ability you get from her after gaining her loyalty. After acquiring Dominate, just reload a previous save and side with Samara.
Or mod the game with all the abilities available.
Happy new Year Gameranx!
Happy new year!
There's a character in Suikoden 5 that you won't be able to recruit if you skip through his dialogue.
And he talks so slow sometimes, and screams, and lenghten his words and such. At the start when you find him in the cave he's in later, where you can recruit him, the text dialogue goes first normally pace and then starts to go slow and faster and slow again and so on.
If you press x at any time, he won't join you and you won't get the best ending of the game
My inherent mistrust in systems THAT convoluted helped me big time on 1st playthrough of deus ex.. On 2nd one i wanted the experience of how this boss was with severe handicap.. Not disappointed 😉
I remember my first play through of a dead rats best friend and it was one of the best quests in the game just because it was so random
Neir : replicant. Re visiting the forest of myth. If you dont read the story at the tree you wont know the answers and start the dialogue over again.
I always wipe out the sand people, can't miss out on the extra experience
So you went full anakin on their ass lol
I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE DEMON SOULS NPC, I did not understand why people were going missing wtf
😅
Dammit just got done with a metro series playthrough...again and now im tempted to do another.
Clavicious. Lol. First time I heard it pronounced that way.
love u guys at gameranx hope you all are having a great night
Clicks video: acts like I didn't see the typo in the thumbnail from the notification
Masque of Clavicus Vile is one of the best pieces of armor in early game. A little bit of smithing and it's pretty powerful.
I like how the Sexbox articles used Asari pics for the header, guess they were the ones who picked that option lol.
Love it!
4:36 yeah you didn't even have to engage in conversation either. Just stopping and listening to 2 npcs talk about their business gave you karma points. I didn't know what it was but I love getting immersed in game worlds so I just listened to every background dialogue and talked to everyone. *Guitar strums*
I remember starting Yakuza 0 a few years back and skipping all the dialogue that didn't have any voice acting. Boy was I wrong. I had to restart the game about 5 hours in
A Daedra's Best Friend: ignore the fact you're killing a talking dog. AND that you're dealing with Clavicus Vile, Daedric Prince of Deals in a world *filled with books* stating This Guy Is A Tool! And it's called "Rueful Axe": Axe of Regret. But hey, crap axe. Yay.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. If you are playing as a crazy Malkavian, there is a spot where you can talk to a stop sign and have a conversation with it. You know, because you are crazy. There is nothing pointing this out to you and it is easily missed. This dialogue doesn't further the story or get you anything, it's just really funny.
Prayers of success to everyone in 2022 ❤️
All dialogue in the tutorial of any game should not be skipped. Some game explains how stealth mechanics work, ppl skip it, get destroyed by the enemies from the start, and then rage quit while leaving negative comments about the game..
the 1st one i always just use the slow time ability to keep both the axe and get the mask XD
falcon: we all know what it's like to skip dialogue in videogames
me: *has never skipped a cutscene or dialogue unless i'm repeating a section i already did but died and need to do it again*
idk why it's such a "gamer" think to always skip stuff like dialogue and cutscenes, even though all of those are not only expositional, but people have worked a lot on them too, only for most people to skip them like they're nothing. when people are truly invested in a game they will take the time to experience the story properly, and even find some cool stuff, maybe references or hints for other things, or even just to see the scene get set for going into or our of a level/mission. i would *almost* say that people who skip dialogue, cutscenes and tutorials should just not play the game if all they wanna do is rush to finish it and move on to the next game.
Hey my man. Happy New Year.
I paid attention in Deus ex lol never had that problem pretty sure that boss was
very surprised lool
Another one is in Diablo 1's Hellfire expansion. As you go through the Demon Crypts, you learn of a powerful demon named Na-Krul imprisoned there with a magic spell. There's several books throughout that document the imprisonment of the demon, but more importantly, there are 3 torn notes on the first 3 levels. Gathering all 3 gets you the Reconstructed Note that states that in order to release him, you have to read the 3 tomes in front of his cell in order and explictitly warns NOT to use the lever to free him or else they fear he'd be too powerful for you.
If you successfully read the tomes, Na-Krul is a push over, but if you instead flick the lever, Na-Krul will destroy you. Without reading the tomes, he ends up being a harder boss than even the Lord of Terror, Diablo himself.
Not to mention, getting into to the Demon Crypts is somewhat obscure, and the books inside and the notes are optional, you could easily skip to the end without even knowing who Na-Krul is if you don't take time to explore. The Crypts are also fairly tough with some powerful foes inside to it's tempting to not spend more time there than needed. The quest to get the Reconstructed Note is also the only quest that doesn't appear in your Quest Log.
