And why what were you trying to get out of watching their introductions back to back?
The best thing about Michael Jordan is he never told anyone he's the GOAT. We all just know.
Actually he was asked that question and he said he was...to which Wilt disagreed saying in his day he was so head and shoulders above all the other players the rules had to be changed (most notably the three second rule and offensive goaltending) just so the other guys would have a semi-decent chance.
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp he means publicly. Wilt and MJ had private conversations where they were arguing who was the greatest, but MJ never said he was the GOAT publicly. He was always humble and respectful of the guys that came before him and said it wouldn't be fair to them. But he definitely never said he was the GOAT in any public utterance ever.
He can (and I'm sure he does) believe he's the GOAT deep down. I'm sure Kobe, MJ, Lebron all feel that way inside - that supreme confidence is just part of the personality profile required for greatness. But you don't *publicly* declare you're the GOAT. It's bad form, poor etiquette, lacking grace. MJ never did it.

This moment pretty much defined your quote Walter.
But when you are the G.O.A.T you can do both. Just like Muhammad Ali.
Thank you!!! That's what I say about LeBron's hype machine. The fact that they have to go around saying it let's you know that LeBron is not the GOAT. When Jordan was STILL PLAYING and had not yet attained all 6 rings, accolades, etc., OTHER SITTING PLAYERS were already calling him the best player alive. Magic Jordan and Larry Bird were already ceding ground to him and admitting that he was the best, and they were all still playing. In contrast, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo have not ceded that ground to LeBron. They respect him, but they aren't giving him that title. Lastly, Jordan said in an interview that he will never say that he's the greatest player of all time because it disrespects the legends who came before him. That shows pure class, and it actually makes people want to recognize him even more. LeBron should take note of this. I am a LeBron fan, but I do not like the way he calls himself the GOAT and the way his team pushes that PR narrative in the media. It's not classy, and it's not true.
I like this

It's crazy he's 59, now. He may be different from what he was during his prime, but he will forever be the G.O.A.T. in NBA basketball.
I know factors like his fathers murder and the fatigue of the 3-peat led him to take a break for 1.5 years, but if he didnât, he would at least have 7 Finals MVPâs with 6 MVPâs. Even his Wizards years were not that bad for 38-40
If only he could stay young forever. Who can forget a 28 yr old Jordan winning his first ring with classic moments in that playoffs like the dunk on Ewing and the switch hands layup in the finals. Just an alien among men
