Long live Ian and Jethro Tull! Still incredible, maybe more so!
and isn't it wonderful that , .. now they sound like rush and ELP with nauseating overmixed drums -- make me puke ,, .. AND been following since 1968 -- thanks for mentioning that -- good comment -- never heard that before ?
? Come again ?
Please do keep "cracking on" Ian. If you want to give us another Tull album every year then no complaints here. Long Live Tull!
I have followed Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson since my first album (Benefit) way back in 1969!
Snap! 😎💙🇬🇧👍
Benefit has been published in 1970
I keep coming back to Benefit for some reason.
Benefit was released in 1970! Stand Up was the UK number one album Summer 1969 😎💙🇬🇧😻👍
Same . . . first albums were Stand Up, Everybody Knows this is Nowhere, and Meet the Monkees . . . I've seen Jethro Tull four times live.
More Tull? Yes please!
I'm so glad you're in the mood and full of energy mister Anderson. You're a living treasure of tasty music. Always a fan of your fantastic and unique art. Cheers
Here, 22 years old and I love Jethro Tull. Jethro Tull for all generations!
I hope you stay in the mood for many more years to come Mr. Anderson
Can't wait to hear the new album. It sounds great!
Ian, I first found you in the 1970’s as a high schooler in the U.S.. I’ve always considered you to be a musician’s musician and composer. You continue to entertain and surprise me at the ripe old age of 65. Thank You!!! You’re looking and sounding amazing at 75. I hope to look as good as you at 75.
There must be a ton of us here all about the same age.
Love you Ian! Thanks for ploughing on!
A musical genius who just keeps giving. Anderson’s meaningful music, intelligent and insightful lyrics will hopefully last another decade, yet.
Ian Anderson is a wonderful person, thanks! I am looking forward to the new Jethro Tull. It is great music!
My sister had records of your music in the 70's. I listened to them and bought all the rest of your music. You're number one in my opinion. Thank you Ian and all the band members. Can't wait to hear Rok Flote
One of the greatest showman on stage. ❤️💯
Thanks Ian for making incredible music!. May the Lord allow you to do more!. 🙏❤️🙏
I adore the single, the album cover and am a lock to get this new release. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Ian backstage in 2004. Long story short, it was completely unexpected, to say the least, given the circumstances of how it all unfolded. Let me say that Ian has a heart of gold and I will always be grateful and thankful for the permission and graciousness he granted my wife and I.
I don't know if you enjoy working and sharing things, but I'd love to hear the details of this. All of them for instance, how something like that happened by accident, what those circumstances were.
Looking forward to hearing it soon!!!
Another great Album too look forward to, Thanks Ian for your decades of great music
Whether the latest effort strikes a chord with me or not, I'm just glad IA is around and his spirit is willing. IA with his music makes the world a more interesting and an arguably better place. Cheerio!
Benefit was the first album I ever bought as a 14 year old kid. Had never heard of "Jethro Tull", had not heard any of the music. Just thought the cover was "cool". Now 66, I have probably bought the album over 10 times in different formats, have probably heard it close to 1000 times over the years. Wow. Thank You Ian Anderson for many years of music bliss!!!
Time to buy a second Tull album! ;-)
We must be about the same age. It took me longer to find JT ... Aqualung. I heard that song one night on my GE clockradio and there was just something about it. Got the album and did not really even have anything to play it on. Then got a Realistic Modulaire stereo system. Then the delight of going back in time Benefit, Stand Up and This was. All so different it really broadened my musical horizons, which were almost nonexistent except for pop music. Also had to buy and rebuy albums from too much play or in different formats.
@@justgivemethetruth My first two Tull albums were Songs From The Wood and Repeat: The Best of Jethro Tull Vol. 2 (I was especially impressed by Bourée on that one), which I found in my parents' house in the early eighties (my brother had left them when he had moved away).
My story is similar concerning Tull igniting some musical taste in me, making me look out for more progressive rock and classical music.

Just heard in another interview today that Ian is scheduled to release yet another album in Oct. 2024. I just cannot believe the luck of us Tull fans so late, after 50+ years. I just hope Ian can keep making music well into the future, whether he sings or tours or not, I'm always interested in what he comes up with.
Other albums are also available...
That's how you Stay young Jethro Tull. All the vitality to you!
So excited for this new album which comes out just a few days before my 40th birthday! Thanks for giving fans like me the opportunity to experience new releases of your fabulous music and long may it continue 😃🎶🙏
Sat here, nursing myself through a dose of that awful virus, remembering meeting you when you gave me a signed copy of Thick as a Brick 1 back in the mid 70s.
My first introduction to the music of Jethro Tull was in high school band after hearing Aqualung.
I was duly impressed so I went to pick it up at the record shop only to find they were sold out.
However they did have Tull’s most recent release Thick As A Brick....and I’ve been a ardent fan ever since.
I backtracked to their past and bought the previous albums...loved them and looked forward to the next release.
So now in 2023 we’re looking forward to the very near future for # 23 Jethro Tull- Rök Flöte with great excitement.
Thank you Ian Anderson for pressing on and being a lover of catching that artistic muse while it’s fresh and ripe yet again.
I love the single “The Navigators” and looking forward to hearing the entire album. You and the band sound phenomenal.
And looking forward to the Steve Wilson remixed box set of Jethro Tull’s Broadsword an the Beast and all those great outtakes and associated tracks.
God bless and good health to you Ian. Thank you for all the outstanding music Sir.🥁
wishing you many more active years, and thank you for your music
I thank you Ian, for all the music you created. You my farvorit Musican
Amazing Ian, and incredible Jethro Tull
IAN IS RIGHT WHEN HE SAID HE IS NO LONGER GETTING YOUNGER, SO DO HIS FANS LIKE ME. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MORE JT ALBUMS LIKE IN THE 70s. BEFORE TIME RUNS US OUT. GOOD LUCK IAN AND BAND. THE MUSIC NEVER STOPS FOR JT
You must be commended for your success, and your contribution to humanity, love to hear the bass in your vocals, Super IAN, Super genius.
Long Live Ian Anderson and Long Live Jethro Tull!
Thank you Ian for saving my life, I know you don't know it, but you have in many different ways.
You look splendid, Ian, and you’re not too old to rock ‘n roll!! (Thanks for the Music) 🙏🏼
Finding tickets for the Daytona Beach show. This new album is absolutely spectacular. I love the Icelandic texts, I took my daughter there when she was 5 and we're going again this upcoming year when she turns 14. My Dad named me after Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond. He took up flute playing when he retired. (He's 70 now, I'm 47). Keep up the incredible work, keep well, and looking forward to hearing some of this material live! I hope the records are for sale in Reykjavik, there is a nice vinyl shop next to the Penis Museum...
Got to see the Aqualung tour at the Flint IMA in Flint Michigan in the late sixties.
Still think you're awesome.
Don't stop now.
Ian's work regime is incredible! Most 75 year olds would be happy watching TV and maybe walking the dog (depends on the weathercock)!
Thank you Sir Ian! Same age as my brother eh, but I'm catching you up slowly. What a brilliant life and career you are having. Still plenty of time to sit on that old park bench having another cup of tea, eh ? Picnic with those jam sarnies too, but save a piece of flute cake, there's a good man! 😎💙🇬🇧🌍😻💫
Perdon no entiendo el ingles ni tanpoco lo ablo
We are waiting for your next masterpiece. If you can, please come again in Belgrade. You are welcome. For us you are our hero and the best musician. We love you.
Thanks for the best band in the world ! Followed you my whole life and have seen your shows 23 tiimes. You made my life better !
Ian, you are a lucky guy if you still have a creative spirit. I am slightly younger than you, and I had the fortune to have some 10 years of my life (when I was in the mid40s) where I felt inspiration to create (it really doesn't matter what) and those were the happier years of my life and that I still recollect with some nostalgia and envy. Good for you that you still have that in you!
Reminds me of the good years ago... You don't age Ian...!!!! Saúde e paz
great job Ian and the gang
Mr Anderson, you're output is admirable, I'm glad it's not getting old for you - and I hear you btw, your ethos is sound. I'm already liking the new/old vibe music. You don't look or seem your age btw💜✌️
I need to get back playing again, "doing your bliss" is good advice, but my health and age are hampering me, so time is always precious 💜✌️😊
Can I ask, did you play the flute in the incidental music in the 1980s film "Who Dares Wins"? I'm thinking of the early part of the film with a Scout helicopter in the Brecon Beacons etc. I realise that Jerry and Marc Donahue et al were the "house band" in the film, but there were some haunting flute parts (I heard similar here and in A too). Thanks in advance ✌️🤞💜😊
Very nicely done, Ian!
Thank you,mr.anderson your music with Jethro Tull is my past ,present and future of my enjoyment of the musical part of my life you have giving me rock on Tull ,rock on
I saw Jethro Tull in 1978. Awesome!
Excelente, mi grupo predilecto. Saludos desde Oaxaca, México.
Glad your continuing your music endeavors as I have been a fan since listening to Aqualung in my friends van on 8 track. Seen you 7 times and own all your albums. And a number one fan. From a Deadbeat to an Old Greaser. Your never To Old to Rock -n- Roll and you are To Young to Die. 🍻
just ordered it, been a fan from the very start in the 60's
Every facet of your musical career has been a departure.
And what a journey we've been on.
A rolling Tull gathers no moss.
Just loses hair.
Ad we all do.
👍
Thank you!!
Thanks a lot for your music!!!
Cant wait for the new album to come out.
Thank you, Mr Anderson
I once saw a picture of Ian Anderson, Robert Plant and Tony Iommi in an lovely english garden, they had a nice cup of the - really love to hear them doing something together….
Long live Jethro tull❤❤❤
First album in my possession was STAND UP.
I saw "Thick as a brick" in a state fair coliseum. Incredible. The bass player wore a zebra costume. 🦓
Keep recording as long as YOU want to Ian, wonderful Catalogue of stuff since you started. We had a chat in the interval at a cold Canterbury Cathedral a few Christmas's ago at your Carol show. I'd worked with Geoff Callingham at Orange Music P.A. Hire company in the 70's before he joined Tull.... Keep well and safe!!
Nahtlos zu North Sea Oil auf STORMWATCH! Einfach großartig! The Navigators steht ganz oben auf meiner Hitliste! Kommt wieder nach Deutschland, bitte!
Macht weiter so.
love that wood burner!
Here here!!!
I've been a Jethro Tull enthuiast since 1976 when I saw them at the LA Memorial Coliseum with the supporting act Robin Trower. The first time I saw Jethro Tull was in July of 1973 at the Inglewood Fabulous Forum. The supporting act was "Steeleye Dan". I was in my second semester of high school and at that time I had been a (die-hard BLACK SABBATH fan. I sorta liked JethroTull, but they did not really appeal to me until again, I saw them at the LA Memorial Coliseum...by which I was actually there to see Robin Trower the supporting act.
My oldest brother is the same age as Ian Anderson...(75) years young, and to this very day I still look up to my very wise older brother. I can say the same about Jethro Tull's IAN ANDERSON. His exceptionally intellectual talented skills as musician guiding the direction of the musical band Jethro Tull for some 55 years is a man that I look up to as well.🧐👍👍
Arnold Schoenberg and Ian Anderson. Two geniuses.
Sound advice-recognise that time is passing, recognise that it you don't do it it won't get done, make a start, begin with melody lines and jot down notes and keep at it. Could be applied to other things than music.
I love the subtitles. "I finished the recording of "The Salad Gene" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love Ian
Dear Ian, it is really sad that you fans from Russia are no longer able to follow up with your new music and videos. Unfortunately the war represents us inhuman, but in real life no-one who loves your songs cannot support the war. We are praying for peace and looking forward to see you live again.👏
Feeling spoilt with a new album this year (as well as last year !), to add to my complete collection. And hoping for a UK tour to follow
I hope to hear a lot of acoustic guitar, too. Your acoustic songs are some of your best.
Have to say, I'm a bit skeptical. I loved Zealot Gene ... ended up loving it after the intital videos didn't really bowl me over. But what I liked about it was that it was human, and relevant. That is what I am not sure about with the fantastical Rok Flote. I mean Norse Mythology is pretty dead and EAR-relevant. First song is a nice if not a bit repetitive and skimpy for a Tull song - but the video is much brighter and more upbeat. Still, pre-ordered it and looking forward. I remember the days of a new Tull album every year, so this is definitely a treat.
Not to mention there was little or no touring going on for a couple of years. As I've barely had time to absorb The Zealot Gene, I still look forward to the new one. We too are not getting any younger.
Just saw you here in Italy, great energy as always, maestro!
Ian Anderson rock 👋👋!!
Came here for the pronunciation guide. Can't wait to hear the whole album!
Vrh brate moj!
Me gusta mucho tu musica y toco flauta traversa
Para mi es una de las mejores banda
El primer tema de jethro que escuche fue buree yo era muy joven buen tema🎶🎵👋👍👌
Out of your 23 studio LP's? I'm proud to say that this is the *_ONLY_* I don't have.
_But I'll be fixing that soon Ian!_
Long live Ian Anderson! Please never leave us. Your music....the soundtrack of my life since 1971.
Ian you are an Ispiration as always
🧡
Broadsword getting a reissue. Sounds nice. Maybe ian can do a theme on some of the renewed ventures.
I'm travelling in pots and pans.
Call me sailor, a soldier, a tinker man.
But don't ever call me a gypsy...
I've made the down-payment on my caravan.
Now, you're looking at a commercial traveller.
Milwaukee 1977 ? I remember.
Subtítulos en español, por favor. Saludos.
Yo tambièn sugiero eso....POR FAVOR!
John and ohara and joe seem to meld together pretty tight. April..
"Strike while the iron is at least luke-warm."
Ian Anderson y Javier Cansado están convergiendo hacia un mismo ser
⭐⭐⭐⭐
13 months shy of 70, I am more productive now that my 'hobbies' are my full time job.
What is your Magnus Opus?
The music sounds good. What's the deal with the devil horns?
My question exactly. I've been a huge fan for decades. I once wrote a letter in defense of Tull when a church newsletter labeled their lyrics satanic. This is off-putting.
@@CherylLynnGramp Oh, I get it. I just want to know what the significance of the devil horns is, because I'm freakin' sick of all the Satanism being put in our faces every minute you turn around. I've been a Tull fan since 1972 and seen them dozens of times, so I'm not abandoning ship, but, anything to do with Satanism turns me off- like the grammys and Superbowl halftime show
At half his age, I wish I could be half as productive as he is.
Whatever happened to the new songs from "Jethro Tull: The Rock Opera"?
IAN ANDERSON....
TO YOUNG TO DIE
BUT WILL NEVER BE
TO OLD TO.....
ROCK "n" ROLL
Weed Me
Yo en lo personal en yutube me miro todos los videos de jethro tull y e visto hombres y mujeres cantando canciones de jethro y tocando flauta traversa
Like Jethro Tull
Si toco ese estilo rock progresivo tambien toco bateria y timbal estudie un poco de solfeo me cuesta un poco la letura de solfeo
No matter what age when one loses the desire to learn and create it is the beginning of the end. I have listened to Ian/Tull so long I feel as though I know him a bit. Go as long as you can.
Songs from the wood
3:08 Why?
I wish Ian and Martin would make music together… pipe dream?
I still need Martin in the band to call it "Jethro Tull". That said, this new stuff is good.
Never look back, 🚂
I would have preferred a real Jethro Tull album for a change, such as one consisting of unreleased songs from the glorious agricultural period (Heavy Horses, Songs From the Wood). Or how about an enchanting Elizabethan heritage compilation in co-operation with Amazing Blondel?
I JAN
GABRIEL
🙏
The older Ian gets, the more the music sounds like it's coming from young Ian. Please never retire from music, it's bad enough that Ozzy had to :(
