I unironically read a dutch children's book from the 90s as a child with a non-binary protagonist who doesn't know their gender.
This was done to not alienate any boys or girls reading the book.
It's not that rare of a writing tool if you want to target children of both sex. just write a character who doesn't know what gender they are or are unaware of the concept.
Skyrim and oblivion having racism, civil war and class divides. Fallout is not far behind with its anti-capitalist message and its queer characters, not to mention dishonored where Emily's romantic interest is non-binary and the entire game touches on political themes.
But apparently starfield is being too political with pronouns?
Yeah, these people who complain about political ideologies being pushed into media seem to have not understood the media they’ve been consuming their entire lives

Well it's obviously not about the pronouns themselves but the implication that comes with it meaning the culture war is in the game and Bethesda chose a side that is not his own. But, yeah, freaking out like that, I hope it's part of his YT persona.

It's an optional feature for a character creation screen, if you feel triggered by something that small, the problem is YOU.
