    This is exactly what I was looking for! I'm making some shawletts for the elderly in nursing homes. I wanted it to cover their shoulders and back, plus part of their arms. I don't want it long, because of getting caught in wheelchair wheels. It needed to be easy access for nurses to get to the arms of patients. Also easy on and off. I'm going to use a big button for an easy closure. Thank you for this tutorial ❤

    The yarn is pretty but it's not a good yarn to use for a tutorial. It's too hard to see what you're doing, but your instructions are very helpful.
    I like the little cape! I just got through making one with a regular yarn, and although I made it too big, I like that it overlaps in front. A tip for any beginners that really helped me: After you finish each row, put a stitch marker in the third chain of the "chain 3" so when you get back to it at the end of a row later, you know what stitch is the last one. It kind of gets lost sometimes if it's not marked.
    Thanks for uploading!

    I don't have any chunky yarn on hand but lots of 4 weight. I will follow your pattern using 2 strands. Thank you for the clear instruction.

    You have encouraged me to try out the homespun yarn from lion brand a second time, the first time was a total newbie and was using a hook that was probably an H and it was so hard to find the sts I gave up LOL I love your videos and thanks for the time you spend to make these awesome tutorials!! God Bless!

    As you say, the instrs. in Row 5 are defective, you quickly say, "ignore that". I would suggest that Lion Brand change this on their printed copy. Suppose someone does not know about the video, they will go crazy trying to figure out what to do.
    Just because something is free, that is not right to allow mistakes on a pattern to remain.

    I had used that type of yarn before, or rather, I tried to use it. I found it difficult, with so much bulky texture, to determine where the next stitch was. But I might give it another try, as I would like something like this to wear around the house when it's cold.

  • @FrothingFanboy
    @FrothingFanboy Před 7 lety +4

    The instructions should say, at the end of a row, "Chain 3, turn." As you are doing.
    Instead, in the printed instructions, it says at the end of the row: Turn.
    So you turn, and at the beginning of the new row, it says, "Chain 3, Turn".
    This makes no sense, at least not to me.

      Ughhhhh me too. Literally, the worst. It always falls apart too if you try to frog it. Plus, I can’t see the holes after I do a stitch.
