Perfect Vermin is about cancer (obviously) and the news reporter is the one who has cancer due from smoking and some family history, you are playing as chemo therapy, the thing is chemo also damages the normal and healthy cells in the process, and the mimiks (the furniture creatures) are tumors, the reason why they keep respawning in the same spots is because of tumor recurrence.
Harold A. Shpitz is the news reporter, or atleast the news reporter is based off him.
I like how the message is obvious yet abstract if it wasn't for the final scene you would be forgiven for not noticing the cancer pqrt.

I think the second game was talking about cigarettes as every time we see the news reporter every time there is more and more cigarettes and as they cause cancer.
Perfect vermin is 100% a euphemism for cancer, as cancer is the perfect vermin. The scene of you running through the flesh tunnel is probably your body going into overdrive.

The second game is so deep. I think that the office represents the mans body. The good furniture represents he’s good cells and the bad ones, “the monsters” represent cancer cells.
You must be the treatment and that’s y no matter how good you felt you were doing, the character in the game was just getting worse and eager for you to do better.
Then there was that part where he was talking bout getting it from his mom.

I think what made the man the monster might’ve been that he smoked to much, look at how many cigarettes are next to him, they keep going up, either he was bitten by the monster or that’s what happens when you smoke to much, you die. And there’s more no-smoking signs each time you go into a new level, which means he might’ve had a bad addiction and died that way, or the cigarettes were potions by the monster but I’m going with the smoking theory. Huh, didn’t think this person was teaching us a lesson not to smoke, good to know! I’m never gonna smoke or else I’ll end up like that man. Deformed, and dead.

I was just talking about what happened to him.
Like he went from human, to a decrippled, purple, 3 mouthed, no eyed, moster that can't sit up straight. But regardless of it being WAYY overdone for how bad a cancer can affect your body, it still drives the point across that smoking is addictive, bad, and no one should use them. Imagine if got a reboot/remastered version, but instead of cigars, the old man vapes, and that's kind of funny and also sad because vapping is basically the new smoking, and its funny because its modern, and people tried to solve an addiction with another worse addiction. No wonder it went south.

you start by deforming the victims with blemishes all over them and nosebleeds at random times
the reason the ash tray fills up is because they're usually to relieve stress, and this virus gives alot of pain and stress

Game 2 theory: So the old man had cancer which of course kills people from the inside, the game requires you to go through offices and destroy fake furniture that has meat and blood inside of it, but why does the furniture have blood and meat? Well the answer is simple, you are playing as the cancer destroying him inside eating away at his inner MEAT and ORGANS which perfectly explains the meat and organ filled furniture. The entire game is a metaphor for cancer, you are destroying the furniture/organs via hammer/cancer. Him telling you to keep going to the elevator and to “just do it” is him basically saying come on cancer just kill me already I don’t have long anyway, as for the news it’s just him on the news doing his final broadcast as the cancer kills him.
Though I have one other theory, maybe you were trying to destroy the cancer and that’s why he kept telling you to destroy the furniture faster.
Either way you did what you did and he died on the news

i think the 2nd game is supposed to a euphemism for smoking, the man on tv keeps having more cigars appear on his desk as he gets worse and worse, and the cancer part helps prove my point. The "vermin" could be cancer cells, because cancer cells are hard to find, (thanks to Mighty_Robo for that part)

I think that cancer might have gon into the person/player's brain making him or her insane. this leads to when he starts smashing things with a sledgehammer which he thought was "vermin" but instead it was people. so the end of the game it might have been a flashback.
