- This is part six of an eight-part series following my adventures in Georgia and Tennessee in May 2021. Here I visit the Currahee Military Museum, home to an incredible collection of memorabilia connected to the men who trained at Camp Toccoa during WW2, particularly the men of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne (Band of Brothers)

Thank you for posting this. I said this elsewhere... I just returned to the USA from a three-year assignment in Belgium, and I made numerous trips to Bastogne and I walked in the Bois Jacque and saw the fox holes, and last July I was in Normandy and peered over the fence at Brecourt Manor, and someday soon I hope to come full-circle and see Toccoa. Easy Co 506 PIR was made "famous," but there were more units that we should also remember.
Very cool what they did with the displays and bringing the stable back from England. So much to see there, I wouldn't mind going back.
If you ever get up to Frankenmuth, Michigan check out the Michigan Heroes Museum. They have over 800 exhibits that they rotate through their hundred or so displays, so the museum is always changing. They also have one of the largest Medal of Honor displays in the US.
3:14 for some of those wondering some of those medals are commemorative not actually issued by the government/military
I remember when I went and saw the place where the founding fathers held the continental congress, it brought tears to my eyes. Being in a place so significant, and being able to see that it was real. It just changes your perspective on things.
It was great meeting you the day you shot this. Thank you for featuring our museum. There is so much to see there. I still find things I have never noticed each time I walk through.
It's a wonderful place and does honor to the men who trained in Toccoa and served in the war.
One of my favourite CZcamsr! Man your the best!
Another dream of mine is going there. Amazing museum
Great video. Makes me want to binge watch Band of Brothers again
Lol I loved the "gory gory" song, I actually listened to it a few times before watching the video. Thanks for posting!
Great Video and as a special, you meet JD from History Underground. He is one of my favorite CZcamsr in History.
Not the historian we deserve, but the historian we need right now.
If you get to England, in Norwich, at the Forum, there is a library dedicated to the 2nd air division, who served, over here in East Anglia. It's on line also.
9:50 Does the die have any significance? Great video. Also enjoyed the choice of music + panning
Vary cool museum
As much as I love your reaction videos, I think I actually prefer the original content. But both are great!
And I'm still recommending the newest Band of Brothers book, "Saving My Enemy" by Bob Welch. ;)
Thanks you! I’m reading Shifty’s War right now but I’ll definitely add that recommendation to my list.
Nice I was waiting for this one
great music
I like the music choice!
that was great
Crazy that you posted this today. Just yesterday I watched a video about the Toccoa Falls Dam disaster which killed 39 people in the subsequent flood. Did you by chance check that out while you were there?
That was awesome. I love all the Wehrmacht equipment they have there as well.
Could you do a reaction video on the great northern war by extra credits. Since you just finished the admiral Yi video by extra credits, I think you would really enjoy the great northern war by extra credits.
Great video, love the backround music
I know of a few places in Oklahoma that may be of some interest to you. Worlds largest gun collection is in Claremore. Around Oklahoma City, you have the 45th ID museum and there is an artillery museum just to the south in fort sill.
ughh... I want to go there... I have never made it out to the East Coast area.... Farthest I have been is Iowa... Nothing to tell there! I am really curious; I have been following your channel for awhile now and I got particularly interested running into your civil war material. I am really tempted to jump on the Patreon wagon and I only follow one other person... What is your background? You really strike me as a high school, or college professor of some sort. Or perhaps you just have a really intense military historical fascination like I do? =)
Great video man but I also want to see your reaction to history of japan by bill wurtz
I’m a huge fan of the channel and I actually have a question for you about the Battle of Chancellorsville. I’ve seen reports that General Hooker’s ineffective use of intelligence was in part because he was overwhelmed by the amount collected. Is this true?
Can you make a video about all "deleted" things from the Declaration of Independence ? Or the whole process of adopting and writing it .
P.S
Sorry for my English . I'm Russian .
Please react to film theory's Titanic theory on how Jack is a time traveler. They talked about historical implications of that event and was hoping we can get your thoughts on it.
Do the ones from Kings and Generals
Hi!!
Song ?
i have family from toccoa
Could u react to some of the historia civilia videos on CZcams? They are creating great content about the Roman Empire and some other topics, too. :)
so i get KIA and WIA but LIA? lost in action? is that the same as KIA?
Vlh the daughter of a streamer has been missing since Friday, the CZcamsr thequartering posted a video all about it. I’m pretty sure you live in Ohio (which is where she is missing) o thought I would bring this to your attention and the attention of anyone who reads this as I’m sure we can all sympathize with the family.
Thank you for letting me know, I hadn't heard about it. Looks like this is her www.fox19.com/2021/06/29/police-17-year-old-warren-county-girl-missing-since-friday/
@@VloggingThroughHistory yes that’s her, I prey that she will be found quickly and safe.
Did you run Currahee??
Hiked it. Thats in this video series as well.
@@VloggingThroughHistory I totally missed that one! I’m planning on making a trip up there in the next month or so, can’t wait!
