I'm so glad that KroMa is always looking out for you, she really saved your bacon this time. If it were any other country, your passport would be gone for good and you'd be stuck in Japan for who knows how long.
Lucky Japan is a polite and orderly country. There are many places where a lost passport would never be seen again. High trust and high conscientiousness saves the day once again.

I played Unfinished Swan back in 2013 but never finished it because I didn't want it to end, so thanks in a roundabout way for playing that and then this. I never knew they were connected in any way.
There is a very compelling theory that Edith finch the elder is the villain of the game, she used the curse as a defense mechanism for her own neglect and abuse of her direct offspring and encouraged her family to treat their life like it was given up to the curse already

In recent years, the summers in Japan have been extremely hot, with temperatures that even Japanese people have never experienced before.
Not only are the temperatures high, but the humidity is also very high, making it extremely unbearable.
For people working outdoors, work clothes equipped with cooling fans and Peltier devices, similar to those in your PC, have been developed and have become a hit product. This is not a joke, but a true story.
If you come to Japan to watch fireworks, be prepared!

Welcome back Kronii. It's good that you were able to find your passport, otherwise it would have been a past-port. Interesting choice in game, I remember watching the start of Ina's playthrough of this years ago but didn't see the whole thing, I stopped after the kid turned into a shark. Then when I saw that happening here I suddenly remembered what this was. I had no idea there was a whole story here. It's odd how Edith lived from 1917-2010 while everyone else died rather young. I guess there is always an exception.

Anyhoo, good playthrough! Was wondering what you'd think of the game since mentioning it before the trip. Story's pretty heavy but definitely a solid entry as an art-piece and it's always a good time seeing how people go through it
I feel called out on her whole story because I also lose things all the time and have to retrace my streps to recover them.

You really know how to make an entrance; bringing a melancholic game to match the melancholic mood of not seeing you since the last forever. Much like Edith’s family growing accustomed to their fate, I can’t help but feel uneasy at how your trips always end with that extra hint of spiciness. We’re going to need you to have a relaxed, picture-perfect travel story to share with us soon, or else there’s real danger that it gains reputation as a curse. You tales remind me of a quote I heard recently, paraphrasing a bit: “Home is where I go for vacation, traveling is where I go for work.”
All eventfulness aside, always glad for having you around again. Even when you deflect our compliments. Or when you tell us we aren’t worth even one stamp in your passport. With the walking simulator game's trait, ironically, today's stream with What Remains of Edith Finch was a comforting and relaxing playthrough, while figuring out the cursed, messed-up, and very sad story.
I always knew this game beat Breath of the Wild at BAFTA, but except for that, I didn't know why this game was so highly valued.
To experience and figure out why good games are highly valued with your gameplay is always pleasant, just like today.
Storywise, it is a really horrible and messed-up story that happens to the Finch family through the generations, but the way they show and tell in this game makes people intriguing and keeps interest in it.
I was really shocked and felt really sorry when that accident happened to Gregory.
Even though it was just a story from the game and it makes me feel better now, it was so depressing and sad at the moment. It's all good now. I hope you are fine now, too.
Even in the end, there's nothing to say about what exactly the curse is.
Whether it is actually a curse or just negligence and mental disorders running through the family, the storytelling with the nice graphics and narration was really cool to see.
I really liked how they used the cartoon rendering method with Barbara's story. Milton's story too. I don't know about The Unfinished Swan, but making connections with other games as an easter egg must be really cool to anyone who knows about it.
It was a really well made game.

I didn't expect you to go through all the worst-case scenarios that can happen on a trip. I would also panic if that kind of situation happened to me.
Yet, you managed the risk well. You ask Kroma, who can help you out better than anyone. You found your phone by tracking back your memory, and you used a taxi to come back to the hotel.
Also, you had some luck too. It was really lucky to get your passport and phone back.
Of course, it was a crazy thing that wouldn't have happened in the first place, but you did the best you could and solved the problem.
I'm really happy that things sorted out well for you and didn't get worse, making you more upset or frustrated.

Kronii always picks such interesting games. That hunting scene really hit close to home. I don't get why some parents get obsessed forcing their kids to do stuff they manifestly hate. It just makes something unpleasant even worse. People are weird.
Kronii is so good at losing things, she lost her passport, her phone, and also her composure and weight. 😂
I don't believe there was a "curse" in the Finch family. Edie experienced an above-average amount of loss (she saw her father drown, her first daughter accidentally poisoned herself, and her second daughter was murdered, just for starters), so she embraced the "curse" idea of her father's as a coping mechanism because "fantastical" deaths mean that her missing loved ones will never be forgotten, and won't truly be gone.
Dawn two generations later lost her sons Milton (missing) and Lewis (drugs and mental health failure), and in her grief she blamed Edie's family history stories (Milton was chased away by them? Lewis was driven mad by them?) and Dawn tried to erase her family history, but doing so only forced the death of the 93-year-old Edie (who couldn't live without a connection to her lost loved ones).
BTW, the last story that Edie tried to pass on to Edith was most likely the tale of Ingeborg, Edie's mother, and the original reason why Odin uprooted the house and moved to America. Edie had forgotten her mother's story until she laid eyes upon the old house again, so many years later. Which is why the stories are so important to Edie, because when you let yourself forget, you can forget even your own mother, which is an awful thing. But then, that story wasn't told, because Rose destroyed that story (destroying Edie along with it).

The "curry" that serves as the base for curry udon is different from the "curry" that is poured over rice. It is customized to match the udon.
