  • Nike vs. Adidas: The Ultimate Sneaker Showdown.
    Everything that goes up must come down. It is becoming more clear that the hype for Nike Sneakers is over. Did Nike became too proud? With their massive restocks they try to make a point; but nobody truly knows the strategy behind all this. Are they trying to kill the sneaker resell market by overproducing wanted pairs? Or are they just trying to make extra money?
    Anyways, Adidas is doing way better than Nike at the moment; they catch more hype, have more affordable prices and the quality difference between Adidas and Nike is huge! One thing is for sure; Adidas is beating Nike at its own sneaker game!
    Thank you for being part of our road to 10k subs!

    You take the Yeezys out the picture, what is ruining Nike is the resellers. And this concept of making only a small amount of shoes. They effed up basketball bc they stopped the hyper dunk collection. There signature athletes are really not getting exposure. I’m glad!

    • @loapsneakers
      @loapsneakers  Před měsícem

      Whether reselling is good or bad for a brand I have no clue. I think the brands get a lot of exposure from it and it creates unmistakable a hype. Also it makes it more fun to collect if the brands release smaller batches.
      Reselling dates back for over 20 years, only the market was less transparent around that time. We used to bid on Ebay all day long.
      Imo stockx gave easy access to everyone and his mother to become a reseller and that caused an increase that led to the situation of peasants starting to resell not giving a damn about sneakers.

    • @jaybar33
      @jaybar33 Před měsícem +1

      @@loapsneakersI’m showing my age here, lol! I remember when reselling was for a small market. Reselling was for hard to find sneakers. Now, these scum bags are buying up general releases. So you can’t even enjoy a regular shoe. Nike didn’t care bc it guarantees that there inventory is bought up. Sneakers was a culture, where it allowed people to express themselves. Now, it’s an idiotic money grab that has pushed real sneaker lovers away!

    • @loapsneakers
      @loapsneakers  Před měsícem

      Yeah definitely. I must admit that I am making a living from reselling. As a sneakerhead I am extremely happy that I am able to do that. With this channel we want to give something back to the community and capture sneaker stories for the future generation.
      I also need to acknowledge that you are right. At some point all GR's that looked good were bought up by the resellers as if it were specials. That certainly changed a lot.
      Now it seems to get back to the old days, with exclusives only. Not sure whether its because of the brands increasing stock numbers or that they hype reached a lot of non-sneakerheads that are losing interest. But as long as I am able to practice my hobby I am happy with that.@@jaybar33

    Nike still is Innovative and comes up with pretty straight and stark shoes. Adidas meanwhile hasn't been much of a good one as all has been recycled from the past shoes to collabs, same with Nike. However the Nike still has pretty dope thinking method and execution in style. This is coming from an adidas lover guy. No hate just that we need something that icks us to buy, that spontaneity of being in awe with sneakers has recently been dead. New colorways and collab. with famous ppl won't let sneakerheads be dumb. Peace ✌. Btw nice content man 🙃

    I grew with Nike and Adidas throughout my 27 years, and honestly, Adidas had the slightest edge in terms of clothing quality and style than Nike. Nike's clothing is just overpriced and boring except their footwear. The soccer kits that adidas got right now is excellent and way better than Nike's. It's a shame that Ye effed up with adidas and I still rock with them.

    I find it interesting how the video didn’t mention nike’s response to when adidas surpassed nike in 2016-2017. Once adidas and kanye jumped over the jumpman, nike came in with full force getting virgil abloh to design a full collection of sneakers, jerry lorenzo to create the nike fear of god collection, travis scott to release his take on air jordans, drake/ovo at the time was working with jordan brand, sean witherspoon dropped his take on the air max, and while maintaining collaborations with brands like supreme, undefeated, stussy, and clot. Nike and their marketing team does know how to generate hype and now that kanye and adidas are cutting ties, even when adidas recruited beyoncé, bad bunny, pharrell, jeremy scott, and jerry lorenzo… it’s not even on the same level or even close to the impact of kanye

Adidas clearly missed a trick by turning down a collab with the great Michael Jordan so Nike took that baton and soared to new heights.
