- This is an Elden Ring meme video discussing the lore of the game. It features Edgar and Irina, two characters which are linked to Hyetta, Yura and Shabriri. Their questline is a prelude to the Frenzied Flame ending and all of that Three Fingers business. The most comedic part about Irina's death in my opinion is the fact that when you examine the clearly dead body it says and I quote "she's dead" like we couldn't tell.

Don't forget, Edgar doesn't even try to get the sword back.
He abandons his blind daughter to guard a sacred sword but it's already been taken so he just sits around.
Then when the player shows him they recovered this sacred relic he's just like "rad you can keep it".
Well, yeah. He’d already failed. He didn’t care about the sword or even who had it specifically-he just cared that he failed to prevent the enemy from having it.
He can be a summon for the boss fight, but he's certainly subpar at his job. Edgar could have also given Irina the twig, and if he did so, it would have saved her life.
Yeah the good old weeping peninsula.
Everything is terrible there.
-The first person you meet has terrible eyesight.
-The servants have terrible anger management issues.
-The first father figure you meet in game has terrible parenting skills.
-Some space elf looking bloke wants to shank you there. (Which is terrible)
-The evergoal demands a key for the terrible version of a talisman you can get for free elsewhere.
-Basement Sellen will always just moan at you. (Which is also terribly rude)
-The weather is terrible there too.

You actually do see Yura die. It's in the sunken church just up the hill from Lux ruins past the Mariner. You find him on the ground, have a chat, he dies, and then his npc killer invades.

I want to know how Irina wrote a letter while being blind.
She likely escaped with another individual that helped her escape, but they probably didn't make it. likely even one of those servants
That's easy, by using the power of a blind slaver girlboss
Real answer is probably that she wasn't always blind, and can write just using muscle memory... I would at least hope that people that are used to writing don't need to actually look at the paper to write.
@@HiddenRealm most reasonable reason is that she escaped with someone, they both safe for awhile and she ask them to help her with writing the letter. Unfortunately, after that. They got ambushed and only she managed to survive and the letter were finished just before the ambush begin.
The simple answer to this.... she wrote it herself. How do I know this? Because she literally says my eye sight is WEAK not nonexistent. She also says "I saw this..." and "I saw that.." a couple of times when talking to her. So she isn't totally blind. The blind fold makes it seem that way sure but its a video game and blind folds are part of character customization so they just gave her one 🤷
I just love that you use "Stand Unshaken" so much in your videos. I wouldn't mind seeing some RDR2 lore videos in your style.
Dark Tark, what are the lore reasons for the misbegotten not simply flying away from castle Morne with their wings (that are capable of flight)?
Their wings are made of wax and they were given to them by their father who was a master craftsman. If they fly too high, the wings will melt and they will plummet to the ground. This will result in their father mourning them.

Jokes aside, I love the Weeping Peninsula. It has such a well thought out layout and story from the bridge to the castle. More Castle is one of my favourite dungeons

I defeated the Morne castle boss and got the sword without ever finding Edgar, so I missed out on most of the quest line
I cannot count how many times I've blasted and slashed my way through an ocean of ancestral guardians and giant wolves, or killed an pretty strong npc only to get ganked by a handful of rats I didn't see scrambling up behind me

I really like the whole three fingers/frenzied flame questline and ending, I got it on my first playthrough, but I think many people could completely miss all of it, which is kinda sad because of how cool it is!! Also amazing video I've loved all of your videos and get super excited when a new one comes out!

I did every quest on my first except dung eater because I killed him and goldmask it's too hard for me without googling but I used the miquella needle thinking I could get touched by the three fingers again so I was forced to do rannis.
@@NateTheGreat368 You have to use the Miquella Needle in the area where you fight Dragonlord Placidusax, and only if you are the Lord of Chaos and don't want that ending, destroying the entire world of Elden Ring.
I like your mention of Yura being completely missable. It was one of the few NPCs I more or less totally missed and couldn’t do any of his quest line for because of this exact reason. By the time I met him it wasn’t him it was Shabriri. Think he even had a line about taking Yuras body and I was just like “oh~ who dat?”

Man. I feel like a absolute smooth brain that I didn't realize Irina and Hyetta are the same person.
They aren't, you can see Irina's corpse is still where she died
I mean we cannot be 100% sure sadly. They use the exact same NPC model and Hyetta also only appears after Irina dies not before. However what speaks against it is that Irina's Corpse stays at Peninsula even after meeting Hyetta so idk what to think of it

@@envoyofrot7046 We can be sure because Hyetta doesn't appear until Irina dies and the quest cannot progress without it, whether she stole the body or copied it, doesn't matter, in both cases she pretends to be someone she's not.
Basically the way the Frenzied Flame works from behind the curtain to try to draw you to it's cause, similar to how Shabriri took Yura's body.Hyetta wants to be a finger maiden and interestingly enough, the only one with whom she fulfills that purpose is you and through you, no accidents or coincidences here.
Also not every corpse stays or disappears, it seems to be pretty inconsistent in the game.
Hyetta is irina reborn. There's a shield in the demihuman ruins on WP that references it

I found yura as the very first npc when i played through first...i roamed aimlessly, playing the game without any knowledge or expectation (new to souls genre or fromsoft games), and stumbled upon him as the very first vendor aside varre who's forced :) That was, after having my foolish ambitions beaten by the tree sentinel about 20 times...

7:11 Let me tell you what's fun...
My first run (I bought the game at launch), I took the usual route: I ignored Blaidd and killed Darwill alone (because I still haven't met our Big Boy Wolf), I found the beautiful region Weeping Tutorial, I talked to Irina...then I got lost , I ended up on Caelid, so I tried to fight Margit (killed him easily)... I ended up having a hard time on Godrick, to the point I really hate this guy... he puts swords on birds and he's a piece of shit, man). When possessed by hatred I defeated Godrick, I took a vow to defeat every damn Godrick-related thing I encountered.
So I decided to help Irina, and send the letter to her father... but I couldn't find him. I clear the castle, take the "Iron Throne Sword"... and then I met Edgar... who said that he was ordered by Godrick to protect the Sword treasure, and he must protect the thing about his daughter. For some reason, the game didn't count that I already defeated the boss, so I have to equip the sword, literally show my sword to Edgar, who said that he will live happily with his daughter... who died. Edgar is on his knees crying and swearing revenge...
So I equipped the Grafted Sword and beat him to death with the sword he chose over his own daughter because Godrick said some BS to him. POETIC!
Then his spirit invaded me in Liurnia... and I equip the same sword again hehehe.
