True, but Indians are another breed, shameful that they cannot stand up for a single ideal that unites this land and find the need to disagree on that one component that came to symbolize the nation of India. They have not learnt one lesson from a thousand years of oppression from different invading groups ! They possess an inferiority complex that is unparalleled in the history of peoples. Sadhguru had a befitting reply to all their queries....Shows how the effects of colonialism can last for decades if not centuries.

Article 51A of constituion of India mentioned the constitutional duty to respect national anthem and national flag. In our culture, standing up for somebody is way of respecting someone. For example, In educational instituitions we stand up for our teacher when he or she enters in the class to show them respect and same thing goes with our national flag and anthems because it is our constitutional duty. Unfortunately, our country is failing in build a good character in youth and being a part of youth of India I will always give respect to my national anthem.

    जब हम राष्ट्रगान सुनते या गाते हैं तो हम एकजुट महसूस करते हैं, यह सम्मान और गर्व का एक तरीका है।

It's always a difficolt thing when one has invested their emtions in their questions and personal comfort and not in the spirit if nationalism. This is always the case of those who have never lived out and felt the effects of tyranny and colonialism. Unless they'd find themselves in the proper situations, they'd never learn and dare raising their flags.

Standing for the national anthem is a mandatory and respectful practice that every Indian should adhere to. As the son of an Army Officer, I have grown up in a military environment, and there's no question about my commitment to this tradition. However, playing the national anthem in a movie theater is a form of disrespect. There are specific protocols for flag hosting, including a designated time before sunset. Similarly, the national anthem should not be played after sunset, and it is not meant to be played under a roof. Encouraging the playing of the national anthem in movie theaters is highly disrespectful and should be discouraged.

Its sad to see, people reading through some books and getting educational qualifications start thinking they know it all about liberty and freedom wherein they lack the basic idea of history, base of current state of country/world and pursue ignorance for their comfort and convenience.
Also putting across point and discussions are fine , but it is sad to see the youth is forgetting basic manners and etiquettes. Since our country has given the liberty of choosing the profession, generation these days do not realise importance of independence. Govt should mandate participation in military services so that such people come down from cloud nine and have a reality check.
It is scary to see that law and judiciary have been studied and interpreted by majority of such mindset.

Find it mind boggling that this question even exists...citizens in every nook and corner of the world stand up when the national anthem is sung/played...the national flag and national anthem is about love, honour and pride of a nation. I am a Malaysian Indian. I sing my country's national anthem and have raised our national flag with pride. We are a small nation of diverse races, we have our problems no doubt but when the national anthem is played or sung, we stand up..no questions asked: from the indigenous tribe in the remotest part of the country to the man in the city. I dont recall any student ever questioning it, whether they are from Chinese, Tamil, religious, public or international schools! I have utmost respect for every national anthem as it represents the 'pulse'of that nation an the flag its identity, if you cannot respect that ...what are you?

America is a developed nation and india is not. Guru dev your explanation is awesome. Pranam. Youth of this nation should have common sense patience etc Future of the nation is in the hands of youth.
