    I can totally tell you've been watching Mindy Pelz which I love! Hope you'll incorporate more of those ideas on this channel. I've been watching her for about a year and just last month decided to really implement the ideas around fast like a girl. However I love ur candor, essence and humor on this channel so I been following you too. I feel like Mindy is the science behind fasting for women and your like the homegirl who gives tips and tricks while making me laugh. You make the fast easier to get through 😊❤ Thanks for being you!!

    I tried Fast like a girl but it did not work for me at all. I do take my menstrual cycle into consideration (I dont do long fasts during my lutheal phase) However I found my best best best health is not following any set advice or schedules. I just do what my body says.

    This is very correct. I’m on my cycle now and I get virtually no cramps while I do 24, 36 hour fasts on my period. The week before I still eat healthy but I do snack on veggies and hummus, rice bowls, pastas and wine 😋. Yoga and long walks the week before period is also good.

    I am subscribed to Dr Mindy Pelz, and find she has a lot of good information. However, also feel like she's trying to sell a product, test, book or attracting others to her website. So I take some of what she says with a grain of salt. But think she's helped a lot of people.
    As a perimenopausal woman I have focused on listening to my body. I've found IF and low carb to be beneficial in drastically reducing decreasing hot flashes, mood swings, and improving sleep quality. Autopaghy is healing my skin (severe psoriasis for 40+ years), my hair is looking fantastic, and I feel better on the inside.
    Thank you Colleen! I joined the September ADF challenge and I'm loving it! Love all of your tips, tricks, and hacks. You're videos are like hanging out with a girlfriend!

    Heyyyy Colleen, I’ve been watching you for a while, and when I fast I like to watch your videos to motivate me. I got through my first two weeks and now I also look forward to my fasting days, not having to think about food is such a gift. I usually don't comment but watching you has truly changed my eating habits and makes me want to be the best version of myself. Thank you for everything girl, God bless you.

    I agree! Women have to be more cautious while fasting around their cycles. Because periods rely more on hormones during that time. If possible working out between (45-60) (60-90) minutes on those days could help keep from gaining weight during that time period.

    Thank you for this! I too heard that from Dr. Mindy Pelz. I wanted to ignore it for this challenge, but I'm literally in the week before my bleed is supposed to begin. I'm thinking I should stop. 😥 it's funny because I basically noticed how I felt more irritable than usual fasting once I hit my day 20 in my cycle.
    Once again thank you so much! Your motivation and words of encouragement are everything. I feel I can relate better with you since we are all doing it together! 🙏🏽 God bless.

No hate at all I actually appreciate what you stand for, however I do not like seeing woman fast incorrectly and seeing how they end up struggling and gain all the weight back because they didn’t know this key information. Wow this is eye opening. I've been doing ADF since May and I had to stop fasting during my cycle because I felt light headed and dizzy constantly. But each time I had fasted the week prior to my cycle so now I wonder if thats why?! Its currently the week before my cycle once again and im doing the ADF challenge! Should I just wait to fast again until next week? 🤔

    FYI: Now that Roe V. Wade is overturned depending on which state you live in using a cycle tracking app may work to your disadvantage because some of the anti-abortion states either already are or have plans to monitor these apps. Use caution and know what your state's policies are. It may be better for some to track the old-fashioned way with an ovulation thermometer and graph. I can't teach anyone how to do that, but you can look it up or talk to moms, aunties, or grandmoms. Please don't come for me. I'm neutral on the issue of abortion just giving information to those who may want it or were not aware.

    Does it change your opinion to know that Dr. Mindy is not a medical doctor, but rather a Dr. of Chiropractic? She certainly has a supplement she’s advocating in every video, in addition to her books and coaching programs. I think women more readily believe other women, but I am skeptical of her qualifications to make these recommendations. If anyone wants to point me to peer reviewed scientific studies that back her claims, I’m happy to read. I’m willing to bet there’s a lot of extrapolation and cherry picking in the science she uses. Mostly because women are so rarely used in actual controlled trials.

    • @ElisaOKeefeSmith
      @ElisaOKeefeSmith Před rokem +5

      Personally, I do think Dr Mindy is qualified and she is helping many. I looked into your question and sharing what I found.
      “The typical chiropractic student will have completed a total of approximately 2,419 hours of academic work prior to the initiation of clinical studies. In comparison, the majority of medical students will have completed somewhere around 2,047 hours of study. Further, while each health care discipline has its strengths, chiropractic students undergo more hours of study in the fields of anatomy, embryology, physiology, biochemistry, diagnosis, x-ray, and orthopedics. In contrast, medical practitioners have had more classroom hours studying the subjects of pathology, psychology, and obstetrics.”
      Why are you trying to sew seeds of doubt and drag down someone’s name who is helping many? Perhaps question your own motivations.

    • @Penelope416
      @Penelope416 Před 5 měsíci +1

      That is not true. I watch a lot of her videos and she does not advertise other products hardly. She may talk about her "Fast Like A Girl" more than selling any supplements. I swear I keep seeing the same type of comments in the fasting community. It's almost like bots are going around, saying the same stuff, discouraging people to not look up Mindy Pelz.
      How about, if you are a woman who has a monthly cycle, then try it for yourself and find your own peer reviewed studies on it.
