Sir, my name is Phillip Danquah a plumber from Ghana 🇬🇭 and I love videos so much. Infact I learn a lot from your videos.
this guys channel is the best. literally every single DIY i search he pops up
For those of us doing these jobs once or twice in a lifetime, I would suggest finishing off tightening screws with a good old fashioned hand screwdriver, you have more of a feel for when a screw is tight! Nice one Jeff.
Every homeowner and handyman's favorite channel by far.
Cheers!
Thank you! You make it look so easy! I'm installing one here soon. This helps so much! Love your videos.
I've been watching your content for years now and im about to add a bathroom in a huge empty space in my primary room. Ive come across these "vanity" glass shower door set ups that are upwards of 800-1k and im glad you pointed to sticking to basics - ty for all of your content!!!
Another very informative video. Especially the way you stressed taking your time and not over tightening things.
Thanks Larry, Cheers!
When I'm thinking about a project I love watching your videos. Your videos are very informative and you keep it simple. Great to listen to also.
I would suggest reminding people to be sure to close the tub drain so if a screw falls in it will not go down.
great point.
I was going to say that too.
I was installing a new wax seal on my toilet the other day and sure enough one of the bolts went right down the drain. And they’re made of copper I believe so my magnetic retriever wouldn’t work to get it. Had to buy a whole new wax seal as apparently no one sells just the hardware.
@@Taylormade2350 They sell the bolts separately from the seal in my neck of the woods. I use them for other uses also.
I don’t find the link to the doors ! Can you help ?
I always look forward to your videos. You’ve helped me with my basement finishing and my bathroom. Keep them coming and keep up the good work!
Me too! I like the way he presents himself. Doesn't make me feel so dumb when it comes to things I've not done before.
Thank you Geoffrey! Always a pleasure to help folks out. Cheers!
I love you Jeff Thorman~! You make everything seem so easy!
Home RenoVision DIY videos are just like blackboards. They’re remarkable! #cheers #gary
LOL, And I thought you were going to make a reference to my voice sounding like nails scrapped across the board. cheers!
For the bag of lubricant, you can cut off a corner on the bottom and use the bag like a piping bag to direct the flow more easily.
Beautiful job. Just lovely and perfect as always. It was educational going through the laser level/plumb checks/anchor/door/tightening screws process to hear and see how the components needed to be aligned, and how to check the work along the way.
Thank you Sarah, just trying to help make life a little easier and perhaps more enjoyable.
The grin when the screw drops into the tub and he says, "love philips screws" hahahaha. Me too Jeff, me too
@The TacomaKid Robertsons are his favorite and hex (star) screws are good also. He likes Robertson because they will latch onto a screw driver without you holding onto them. Both Hex and Robertson are good because they won't cam out (spin out) of the track when you apply lots of torque and little pressure
Jeff you are great man! The only reliable, start to finish channel that I am learning from!! Keep it up!
Cheers Newar!
Thanks your this pleasant demonstration
Watching Jeff and basketball at the same time. Go Warriors and go Jeff.
LOL, Multitasking. Cheers!
come on jeff lives in canada he doenst want to hear about it unless its about the raps
This is so perfect thank you!!!
I think this is the most nervous I been watching you install something Haha I kept saying please don't break the glass 😂 Cheers!
LOl, You are not the only one! I have only broken 1 piece in my career. Thankfully not on camera! Cheers!
Same here! I was squirming in my chair. Whew!
Great! Just about to do this exact job. This will help a lot.
Awesome, let me know how you do! Cheers!
Looks soooo easy! Thanks!
It really is that easy. Follow the link in the description to buy a door on Amazon. Cheers!
I got to tell ya” You always make it look so darn easy! Great video and great installation.. 👍🏼
Cheers Harley and for under $200 bucks it is a great option. Cheers!!
I love the hex tile
Another great idea. Love your channel.
Great how to video. It would be nice to see a nice wide angle shot of the finished product. Nice detailed video thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Hi Daniel, check out the Reality Renovision video from a couple weeks back for wide angle shots. Cheers!
Thanks for great contents… I’m loving it
Jeff this is one of the most enjoyable bathroom series videos you've done. Nust in mu opinion. I think I'm so drawn to this one because eit was tiled over tile. Soooo cool!! Until then next one, God bless and Dirty Jersey out!!!
Cheers Mike!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY And thank you so much, for always responding (and to pretty much everyone). Mad Respect, because I couldn't even imagine the time you have to invest into reaching back out to everyone. Cheers back to Canada!!!
Loved it.
This is way better than a shower curtain. I'm thinking of installing one myself in the future
We have links to the doors like this one in the comment section. great value!
Brilliant video thanks for sharing 👍
Our pleasure ROd!
laser level for the win!
Don't leave home without it. Cheers!
Beautiful job
Thank you Geraldine. Cheers!
Yay!!! Live show coming up
I don't get it
Hopefully it will be helpful. Cheers!
Thursday!
Looks great as always. You ever think of doing a video on epoxy countertops??
I've been thinking the same thing. I'd love to see him do the Stone Coat Countertops DIY
Does your wife enjoy the petrol jelly? LOL! Especially inside the shower! Haha! you said it, not me! Love your videos. You have a great way of speaking to the camera and making me feel like I'm learning in person!
LOL, I never included my wife in on the joke. That was all you. Cheers!
You make it look so easy! 🙌👏👏 You sliding out of the shower after it was done 😂😂
Trust me Stacy, it really is with the right tools. Cheers! And those glass panels are easily handled.
Good job Jeff nice video 🎼🎶🎺👍🌅
Thanks Brother. Cheers to Miami!
Thanks for sharing that
Cheers Hassan!
Another great video. Where can I get the green level level from like the one in this video.
Cheers!!
If considering a glass shower, make sure you aren't very sensitive to sound. Many can become amplifiers and make a disabled person have a terrible time. Also, make sure they know how much maintenance they require, especially with hard water :) Great install
All factors to take into account. Cheers!
Nice video Jeff. I envy your green laser. Every job I try to see my red laser line on redgard I wish I had one. Then forget to buy it before the next job. All Viewers!!! Get you a few of these Milwaukee permanent markers. They're great. They even write when the surface is a little damp. Jeff, if you haven't tried the Dewalt core bits for porcelain I'd highly recommend them. Amazon has them in many sizes and they're not too expensive.
This is a new weapon in my arsenal. Now i bring both with me. different lighting gets different results. Cheers!
Good job, i love you!!!❤😘
I hope this is helpful. Cheers Aida!
Nice tub
thanks for this😊😊
Big fan,
Can you do a video on stain vs whitewash wood paneling? Being old school to modern light! I want my basement wood paneling to have a white and grey feel with the grain still showing. Which is better why. Thanks!
Really good video.
Thanks, cheers Billy!
Hey Jeff, when you drill the holes for the trim/tack are you not concerned that you are perforating your kerdi wrap in behind the tile (I watched the first reno on Max's mom's bathroom; I think that's what you used)?
Muy bien amigo. Espero yo pueda intalar la mia.😊
I am sure you will do a great job Jose! Cheers!
Hi! Any suggestions in regards to drilling on glass tile during door installation?
Great video. I wanted to replace the sliding door for a hinged type to open up the access. When the 1000mm wide door arrived with 8mm glass it weighed 34kg and I can't get it up the stairs. If I could I'm not sure the drywall would support the weight 🙁
How'd you get so good with the lube application? Nice video - I'll be watching - cheers
Hi, love your channel. I don’t think I have a wood stud behind where I need to drill for the braket. It seems to be quite heavy which makes me nervous about putting it up. Are there special screws (expanding raw plugs?) that I can use do u think? Would be great if I could get a response ASAP. Thanks and keep up the good work.💪
Question: My garden tub has a 6 to 7 inch tall lip that goes around the sides and back of the tub that have a rounded profile on the top and at the tub, and there is like a 1/4 ledge on the top of the lip sticking out past the tile wall. So any wall track or gasket when set flush with the tub does not flush with tile wall about a 1/4 inch. What would you recommend running from the top of the tub lip up the tile wall to act as a spacer to give a solid filler so the track is flush with the tub and the tile for a sealed plum fit?
60% of the time, works everytime!
LOL, this is actually quite predictable. Cheers!
First of all... Thank you so much for all your videos. I just finished remodeling 2 bathrooms and everything I learned was from your channel.
From the entire remodel, the only issue I have so far is leak past the shower door. I can't find a way to stop leaks at the door hinge. I have tried everything from varying door sweeps to caulking a thick bead near the hinge... Nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?
The best solution to any problem is to join the channel and send me pics so we can talk on the phone to trouble shoot. Cheers!
I've always found, I'm sure you have as well, drains are magnets for screws or anything else dropped in a tub. I always throw a rag down over the drain for the inevitable dropping of the screw. Like your work, I do remodeling myself. Cheers!
Darin Hill truth. I always push down the plug just in case.
I simply close the drain. Cheers!
I guess what I'm referring to is the dreaded open drain with the screen that is just big enough to let whatever ur going to drop (and it always drops) into the drain. I've also found it useful grouting. I usually use a drop cloth when I set tile. I can be a bit messy...
I totally get it. Cheers!
Wow. I was just looking at shower doors online and then I see this.
spooky eh. This is a nice option if you like the European style ! We have a link to this style in the description. Cheers Natalie!
What haven't you tackled ? A swimming pool. Also looking forward to that project. Nice work as always.
I love your laugh
LOL, Cheers!
Where did you buy the glass door from?
@Home RenoVision DIY what happens if you dont have wood behind the tile ? Can you still install this type of door ? Thanks !
How effective is a partial enclosure like that? I assumed the entire length of the tub/shower would have glass, but the back quarter or so is left open. Maybe that is a design preference but I think I'd rather have glass all the way back.
Always entertaining. FYI, cut corner off the bag of PJ and pipe it out like you are frosting a cake.
Cheers for the advice.
Do they make a taller glass for a stand up shower
I see you have provided links to home depot etc. But could you mention the brand of that nice shower door and where you got it?
What kind of bit did you use to drill through the tile?
This might be a dumb question.. but what about the area at the end you crawled outta the tub part.. what goes on that part.. the shower is still opened??
Great videos Jeff been watching them for a while now. I see its a maax shower door. Would you have a model number? Thanks
He really knows his way around that petroleum jelly
hello, thank you for your super helpful videos! one question, at 3:30 you mention "structured silicone" for those of us w/o wood, do you have a product link or picture by chance?
apologies, i think you answered it at 6:45. thank you kindly!
figured i'd leave the comment up for analytics anyway. cheers!
Love the sideways limbo..lol...nice shower door...
LOL, Cheers Cudda , and it was a great price too under $150.00
Hi where could i get the buy link for this products? thank you!
Hi Jeff, awesome video. The tips and tricks you provide make certain jobs easier :)
The amazon links you have provided the glass door kit isn't working. Is there a local store that you would recommend to order from?
This was my third attempt. best of luck!
Do u have to screw or use only silicon for door guide on the glass door that slide??????????????????? thx
The wall in which the ends of the doors would sit in my bathroom are tile 3/4 of the way up the wall, and then just drywall. How do I secure it against the wall in that situatio? Seems I'd have a little gap for the top 1/4 of the wall.
Nice 👍🏼
Cheers Juan!
Opening of my tub is 53"wX50"h. Been looking for something to fit.
Hey I love the videos!! I have a crappy Glassdoor system that wasn’t installed properly. The marble slab they mounted it to is pitched wrong I get water all over the shower. Can I reuse the existing holes to mount my new door system? I assume use bigger screws?
it might line up. If the door is solid then simply remove and reinstall. Cheers!
But you are an expert with Petroleum jelly! haha!
And proud of it. Cheers!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY I would have just snipped a corner off the lubricant bag and used it like a baker's bag for frosting. No mess on your fingers.
Good to have a blue clues step stool :')
Just a question….When you put in the Self drive screws, They go in true the Glass too…
Looks gud 👍
Cheers Victor!
This video came in time. I have the same project to perform next week. I was wondering if I needed a laser level for this project and some tile work. I was surprised to learn I can purchase a perfectly fine one for under $80. I am not a pro so I use better tools to reduce the impact of a lower skill level. I also know what to do if there is no stud.
Cheers, Go get em!
If you can’t screw into any type of solid backing behind the tile or enclosure you can use wall anchors. Always silicone behind or under your metal, squirt some silicone in your holes as well
I have a question about my shower door magnet. I bought a handle kit with a striker plate on the handle and a magnet with no way to mount it to the frame. I don't see a manufacturer label on the door, so I don't know where I can get a mounting plate for it. Any suggestions?
nice
Thanks, Cheers!
Could this be installed in a fiberglass tub and shower? I’m doing a reno now to get our townhouse ready to sell.
I’d love to take out the fiberglass and tile the showers but I don’t think the time and money it would take would make for a good ROI. I hate shower curtains too.
Thanks for any advice. Subscribed!
Yes please
Would love an answer
Could you share the link to the glass door product pls?
Hi can you show us how to replace basin double tap to a single tap (mixer)
Please thanks
Jeff I wonder if there is a problem with using porcelain tile in the shower/bath instead of ceramic. I know that it's easier to drill through but is that the only reason you use ceramic in that situation?
I think porcelain is more ideal for showers/vertical surfaces because its more durable than ceramic and the tile sizes are more exact/have less variation, but either is quite good these days.
So is there kerdi-board under that tile?
Can you do a video on how to install mesh backed tile. 2x4 tile on 12 high and 14 long
coming soon!
What size is the bit for drilling the pilot holes and how deep did you drill it? You drill only to get to the wood or drill all the way into the wood?
You drill to get to the wood, so that your screws have something to grab. If you drill all the way into the wood your screws can't hold onto anything, hence making them useless.
Hola, what is the product? None of your links takes us directly to it.
Where's the product link for the shower you mentioned? I clicked through the different links. Great build!
Yes! Would love a link to this shower door
Do you have a video where you remove a tub and replace it with a tiled shower? 😱
not yet but we will be filming that this year. Cheers!
I’m very interested in that video as well. I’m curious about how one would go about positioning the new shower drain when the original tub drain is embedded in the foundation.
What do you do when the bottom corner is not completely square?
House rule #1 : Close clear glass door after taking a shower. Or else next person to use the toilet will run into it
This is my concern and why I'll probably go with a slider instead of hinged
There is no bottom bracket at the glass hinge?
Where did you buy the glass door? I don't see it in your links
