  • Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at TikTok once again to identify a trend that has caused some pandemonium in communities (unsurprisingly). This time if you own a Kia or Hyundai vehicle, take some precaution because some users are doing anything for clout. Thanks for watching!

Speaking as a victim of car theft, that moment when you realize your car is actually no longer where you left it has to be one of the worst experiences in life. Then, actually reporting the theft to the police and giving the description of the car just makes you even more depressed! It is hard to accept the fact. So, I agree with Muta that sending car thieves to jail, for at least a year, is a fitting punishment!

@@reaper_cvpi Unfortunately, if the thief or the owner are armed, and the car's owner catches the thief in the act, both of them can react instinctively, with one not even noticing, and the other immediately reaching for the weapon. Those are the dangerously intense moments, when the unarmed one can easily get killed. Both cases happened a few times in my city. The armed owners were blinded by anger, and the armed thieves by fear of being caught...so tragedies happened.

My goodness, that exact thing happened to me two months ago. I had a U lock on it and everything and they just picked right through my kryptonite lock and left it behind locked. Unfortunately, I lost the paper to the kryptonite lock that lets you report the lock picking in order to get a refund for their lock flaw. I literally sat down on the ground for 20 minutes and sobbed. This bike was super important to me because I used it daily and it was a gift from my sculpture professor after my first bike got stolen on my freshman year of college. I even locked it on the bike rack right in front of my entrance to my former apartment. That place is within a part of campus that is well watched and lit and it still got stolen over night. My college campus needs to do better about the common and almost annual bike theft. This is literally my second bike that got stolen. As of now, my bike has yet to be found (I already reported it to campus police and they are supposed to be working with the local authorities to find the suspect and possibly the bikes that were stolen that night) and I'm stuck using a kids bike that was given to me by a roommate's mom. My current bike is too small for my legs even having raised the seat as much as possible, so it hurts my knees. I can't afford a new bike either, which sucks.

Obviously murder is much different, but I am stunned at how many bystanders there seem to be, where they all just pull out their phones…
I don’t think the world is as far gone as people on the internet try to make it look at times, but it is a bit shocking. I guess I am just … not the same? What even is the purpose of sitting around and watching somebody fight, or some dumb crap as if to encourage it - and encourage it they (teens) do.
I know I went off the hook a bit but it does relate to the original thing.
Normal people can play FPS games and not have any conventionally wrong intents (ya’know, like the desire to kill irl), but I think it’s obvious that somebody predisposed to murder may experience that activity in a……. profoundly different way, just as if they went hunting for deer? I might be wrong just because I’m not in the brain of a murderer, but those just seem like obvious consequences.

With people being hard pressed for extra finances now, it is sad that these CHILDREN are going around and stealing cars. Like Muta said, most people cannot afford to replace the stolen cars. Here in Michigan our insurances rates are already through the roof, and a huge number of these thefts are happening in the Grand Rapids area. I can only imagine how much their insurance is running for these models, as insurance companies take in all of these factors.
If I were a kia/hyundai owner and my car got stolen, I would hope that there will be some sort of class action lawsuit again these companies. Cutting corners to save themselves money on the immobilizers is just lazy and asking for trouble. By saying they are good for the 2022 models, they are still ignoring the issue. They should offer some sort of free update to the people, like most car companies are forced to do after something is consider faulty in their line of automobiles.

Muta, luxury vehicles are stolen at a pretty decent clip. When there's that much money in one vehicle pick up, they find a way. Depends on the year, even very recently, with a small raspberry pi and radio you could hack into many vehicles. Just need to get the code from the key itself which is also easily gotten.

its a shame, back in the day the worst thing i did with my friends was smoke pot and show up to school drunk, never crossed my mind to steal cars and smear shit on the wall

The problem with the key fobs and push to start is that someone can use a remote device to copy your key fob from a distance and steal your car that way. People have been able to copy someone's key through their closed window at night and then steal their car from their driveway.

Cars with keyless start are actually stupid easy to be stolen, not from personal experience in doing so but with the right tools it’s hilariously easy.

Carjacking is an issue for people with cars cause they might lose their cars and car insurance may not give the carjacked cars owner a replacement car then you have to buy another car because your car got carjacked

    • @Yee_Yee
      @Yee_Yee Před rokem +1

@@user-dz9ew8pf9m obviously, not saying it’s not a problem but high end cars usually fal victim to theft more than a family hauler will. For example the most stolen cars in past few years have been fiat, so hellcats, track hawks, srt8 vehicles. I had one back in 2010 when Mercedes owned dodge. So it’s more likely the cars being stolen via keyless entry and keyless start are gonna be worth more than say a a rav4. Cars with high performance engines like a Chevy Silverado, a hellcat, some Honda’s, certain newer fords are all cheaper high end cars that will fall victim to theft via this method. Those people who can afford these sometimes $100,000 cars can afford rentals and probably don’t haul kids around in them and if they do then they probably already own a 2nd vehicle. I don’t condone car theft. I have a car that’s older and very desirable and suspect to theft and I take measures to ensure theft would be very difficult. You cannot prevent theft, if someone wants it they will take it, regardless of what you do.

It's just the switch behind the actual ignition you'd put the key In. This is the same way they use to steal your 93 civics. The switch was actually on the door side the column so even easier

I have a privately owned boot for my tire and one for my steering wheel for my car. Both of which were at a price of around $40 and $35 respectively. I do this because at my college carjacking has always been a major problem. So if they can carjack my car, they would also have to deal with a boot for both the steering wheel and the tire, which obviously makes the car immobilized until they are unlocked by a key.

When I was about 16 I stole one of those steering wheel locks for the lulz when I saw the car was unlocked. They were so confident in the wheel lock they left the actual hard to pick door unlocked. Then I locked the car for them before I left with their " club".
