📅🆓NEET Rank & College Predictor 2024: infinitylearn.com/neet-rank-p... If a bag of chocolates is kept open before us, we try grabbing as many chocolates as possible! Is that the same story with the Atoms? Do they also try grabbing as many Electrons as possible? Watch this video to get the answers!
Valency is the number of atoms of a particular element that is combined with one atom of another element to form a molecule. Valency is also known as molecular weight. Valency is a measure of the combining power of an atom. The valency of an element is determined by the number of electrons in its outermost shell.

Yes mam really
@Save Earth okh babes
Crying???

@ 3:01 there's a mistake. The Argon and Neon values are interchanged. Argon should be (2,8,8) and Neon should be (2,8)
Thank u
Yeah and plz post a video on variable valany

Thank you very much. My 9 YO daughter and I watched this together and we were able to learn. I missed the lesson on valency in high school and my teacher never caught me up and I was never good at chemistry after that trying to understand how elements bond.
You're most welcome. We are glad that you understood the concept. We are happy that we could help you learn. You motivate us to do better. We love our Pi Army and would like to stay connected. 🤗🤗

Ok so please explain this i M confused"So every element's outermost shell must contain 8 electrons but in copper we have configuration 2,8,18,1 now if it lose 1 electron it will not get stable and if it gain electron it will again not get stable"
@@keepcoDing_789 see Copper will donate 1 electron and become stable as you that an atom must have minimum 8 electrons Inorder to complete it's octet state so even if there are more than 8 electrons in the outermost shell ( considering the capacity of the shell ) the atom will be stable. hope it helps

3:00- Neon is in Period 2, while Argon is in Period 3, the # of energy shells are accidentally mixed up as the video shows Neon with 3 energy shells instead of 2, and Argon with 2 shells instead of 3. Regardless, this is a beautiful video with easy explanation!

At 3:32 seconds you made a mistake. The second figure should be Neon and the third figure should be Argon. You wrote it completely opposite. Please make the change if you can . It may confuse a learner. It was a really great video. I really understood what is valency.

According to the 2n² rule, the number of electrons each shell can accommodate increases as the shell no increases, then why is the video saying the maximum no of electrons that can be accommodated is 8,I just thought it was the stable configuration.
that's what i wanna kmow too!! anyone?
Yes you are right but octet rule says the last or outermost shell of a stable and electrically neutral atom can have maximum of 8 electrons. However the capacity of last shell is more than 8 electrons.
That why atom lose/gainelectrons to make them stable.
@@suman5259 Thank you :)
@@suman5259 so your saying the an atom is stable when it has a total of 8 electrons in its outermost shell(according to the octet rule)
Despite the capacity of its shell/energy level
