  • The Royal Family returned to London the day before Princess Diana's funeral. The Prince of Wales, Prince William and Harry went to Kensington Palace to view the flowers and shook hands with people. The Queen and Prince Philip arrived at Buckingham Palace and greeted people outside the gates. They then went to St. James's Palace to view Diana's coffin and meet people queuing to sign the Books of Condolence.

    to everyone in the comments: these children were taught to smile. They are not allowed to show weakness (such as grief) in front of the general population. Obviously they don't want to smile, but they have to because it's their duty. That's how royals works, and it's very tiring indeed

      They were pretty much forced to do this because people were accusing the royal family of not caring enough. The last thing anyone wants to do after losing their mother is go outside for the cameras and put on a show. But the boys did it and very well.

    Princess Diana will always be held in high regard, that no one can replace. She modernised the royalty. She is still on the front covers, a princess always and a queen of hearts forever. She is a face that will not be forgotten, a personality that warmed a nation, a smile that brought people together. The mother of our future king.

    It's heartbreaking that Wills and Harry had to be outside and doing this when they had just lost their mother, but I think Diana would have approved them interacting with those people who only wanted to pay respects. Charles did try to step up and do right by the boys as they grieved the loss of their mother. It was after Diana passed that I think Charles really stepped up as a parent knowing he had to as Diana was now gone.

    What a bizarre life they have. Mom dies...they have to Meet & Greet. Not anything we can understand as it's their world and things are as they must be. It is normal for them, but damn, ain't no amount of money could make me want that life. They have wealth and privilege, but bloody hell, they pay for it in ways I couldn't manage...ever. Bless their wee souls in this clip...

      @@janethughes5148 I agree. She just can't win with some people. I think she did the best she could in a very unique situation. And truth be told, although I'm sure she cared about Diana as a human, Diana wasn't as close to her as she was to other people, so the grief level is obviously different. I'm sure she felt grief, but it wasn't going to be the same grief as the boys experienced. People don't seem to understand that some people express their emotions differently. They just assume that if you don't show an emotion, you don't feel it. Which definitely isn't true.

    I admire William and Harry through this. Grieving the death of a parent is heartbreaking and soul crushing enough but to have to parade that grief in front of the world. But to put on a brave face when all you want to do is lock yourself up in a room, curl up in the fetal position, and cry your heart out takes a tremendous amount of strength and dignity. As for the Queen she and Diana may have never been on good terms but she loves those boys and for once she wanted to set aside photo ops and royal protocol and just be a family, was that too much to ask? the British public were all but ready to do to her what the French did to their last queen (you know the one who had a hot date with your friendly neighborhood guillotine) but no matter how you spin it the royal family job is to serve the public and their needs not the other way around.

    • @skylarkline972
      @skylarkline972 Před 9 lety +8

      Kevin Richards maybe he cried when Diana died because he wasn't the future king of England, he was simply a young boy who just lost his mother. being a future king does not pardon you from feelings. when someone who is close to you, no matter how long you've known them, you mourn. & it's not like when he is king he will be controlling every aspect of a country like the monarch did in the 14th century. so chill.

    • @19EHF
      @19EHF Před 9 lety +6

      Kevin Richards So according to your logic you are not allowed to have any feelings for losing a parent pass the age of 15, regardless if you are close to them or not. When you lose someone close to you you never get over it you just learn to live with it. Then explain to me why soldiers cry when they lose their buddy on the battlefield? Or why the parents of the Sandy Hook victims cried when they lost their children? hmm? they're adults right they shouldn't cry because crying when someone you love dies is for children right? Im gonna assume you are one of those rare people who NEVER lost someone close to you. You must still have both of your parents, grandparents, all your friends cousins and family members. Even your pets. Congrats, most of us aren't so lucky. Or maybe your some android because you clearly do not understand human emotion, and I don't feel like lecturing you. Funny, your logic reminds me of a certain mantra uttered by a famous Disney queen, "conceal, don't feel" XD

"Revolution" happened in 1789, monarchy ceased in 1792, then back (empire though) in 1804-1815, then monarchy from 1815 to 1848, then monarchy (second empire) from 1852 to 1870...last queen was Marie-Amélie and last empress was Eugenie.

    The sovereign beauty which I do admire,
    Witness the world how worthy to be praised:
    The light whereof hath kindled heavenly fire
    In my frail spirit, by her from baseness raised;
    That being now with her huge brightness dazed,
    Base thing I can no more endure to view;
    But looking still on her, I stand amazed
    At wondrous sight of so celestial hue.
    So when my tongue would speak her praises due,
    It stopped is with thought's astonishment:
    And when my pen would write her titles true,
    It ravish'd is with fancy's wonderment:
    Yet in my heart I then both speak and write
    The wonder that my wit cannot endite.

I can imagine they were smiling, because firstly, the were thankful, and second.. it's their job...? I don't know if they should be sobbing all over the place. And in some moments after someones death, you don't realise that all the time. You do have times to calm down. Maybe this was one of them.

      Death is part of life. I think seeing the tributes of how much she was loved was good for the boys. In the old days we kept our passed love ones in our home until burial. A family member or friend always sat by the coffin while visitors came to honor the one gone and their family all bringing food to see the family through. I remember my grandad in his open coffin in my grandmother's living room. I wasn't scared when my mom explained his soul had gone to heaven and he no longer needed this body anymore because he had a healthy strong spiritual body. I asked if he was happy. And she said happier than we could ever imagine but we were sad because we missed him so. I was six years old and have never been afraid of death.

      Cano Manuel Gonzaga The lack of correspondence with the British Population had made the Royal Family more and more unpopular. Add this to the accusations of an assassination by MI6 on the late Princess made by Mohamed Al-Fayed, Who's son was in love with Diana and also died in the car crash with her, then things weren't looking to good for the Royal Family.
      During this time, Her Majesty was taking care of her grandchildren and had to make a decision, Either stay with them and risk loosing the families popularity or do her duty and return to London by the demands of the people.
      She Returned to London in what was described by one palace official as 'A Damned Risky Move Ma'am'. They had feared that the people would jeer her out. But it was all in her favor. The people wanted her to come back and be with them...and she did just that.
      That's why they were clapping as they arrived...the people knew that they had heard their cries and were responding...as they were obligated to do.

    The sight of HM Queen bowing her head to Diana's funeral car was very poignant. It just wasn't right.
    You only have to read about Queen Alexandra consort of Edward VII. What she went through yet still kept her dignity and respect and was very much loved.
    Diana was reckless to the point of public exasperation. We forgave her many times. If she had of continued she would have wrecked the monarchy and the very foundations of nation

      Mark Gable You are not a fortune teller. You have no idea how things could have worked out. My guess would be that Diana would remain in the UK until her sons were older then she would have left for America. According to her close friends if it was not for her sons she would have started a new life in the US after her divorce from Charles. With regards to the Queen bowing to Diana's coffin on the gun carriage, not a funeral car, this was the Queen who is a Christian, acknowledging that Diana was special. Millions would not have turned out for her funeral in London if she was not special. There are some people who just have that spark. The Queen would not have bowed if she did not want to. That was her decision to show the British public and the world that in death all animosity, all arguments and bitterness are over, and that in death, all is forgiven, as we move on with our lives.

      How backward minded are you? No wonder we still live in a messed up world. She was a teen who married a man who she thought she would be devoted to for LIFE. he had an affair for his whole married life. Was she meant to bite her lip and let it happen because its her 'duty'? Was she meant to stsy lonley and let boys be boys? The queen and the rest killed her because she was gaining influence and had many supporters. Had her and hasnat khan been exposed she wouldve died much earlier. The future king couldnt have half siblings esp non white. You make me sick. She wouldve ended the monarchy and rightly so!

    • @cocodakilla

      John. The blood samples of her driver were switched. He wasn't a drinker. He received a huge amount of money in his final weeks. He didn't look drum on security cameras and he kept speeding even though the paps were far behind. The cameras in that tunnel coincidentally were off that night. The white fiat una owner was killed three yrs later. He was bragging a lot. Shot twice in the head and in a locked car set alight.
      Diana was turned into a hrh that night so the royals could give orders for how her body was to be handled. She was embalmed quickly. Any fetus would have been destroyed.
      Diana even wrote a letter a yr earlier suspecting a crash. Her belt in that car wasnt working as wasnt any other belt.
      The ambulance stayed at the scene for nearly an hr before moving off and passed two hospitals who were staffed and much better than the one they settled for. That hospital was travelled to at snails speed even though it was not far off.
      Reasons for why? Well she would have probably died earlier if people had known about hasnat khan. Two yr secret relationship. The future king William could not have a Muslim Arab half brother. Neither could Charles have a stepson! That would be awful for the backward family. Diana threatened to take her sons with her once she had returned. I tell you the monarchy would have probably ended had she lived. She wanted landmines to be demolished because of the loss of life and limbs it caused. That crosses the lines for many secret services and those who want go go to war. Isn't it weird how all the people with influence are killed off? Those who speak sense and want the world better? The governments have their agendas. The princes are brainwashed. The media didn't do it. The documents are available to all and don't add up. The surviving person from the crash is lying. He remembers. But he will be killed if he opens his mouth. The people on the three motor bikes were seen given a mission accomplished sign. If they and the driver of Diana's cab weren't secret service officials then who were they? Please look into it. Don't be sheep. I feel sorry for the woman. The queen does loads of work but her and her family are toxic people

    • @johnking5174
      @johnking5174 Před 9 lety +1

      Right let me address a few of the things you have stated here.
      1) Henri Paul the driver was a heavy drinker. Staff at the Ritz saw him drink Ricard Pastis at the bar, a very strong drink, much stronger than wine. One person at the hotel said that Ricard looked like orange juice. There are people who are heavy drinkers, who are intoxicated and can look stable on their feet. Everyone’s metabolism is different. I can drink plenty of beer and be able to stand on my feet and speak well. My brother only has to have one beer and he is drunk, a mess. Henri Paul had a relationship break up at this time and was taking tranquillisers and alcohol to numb the pain of depression he was going through. Now people will speak up for him/defend him because the poor man is dead, if he was your friend and you knew he was drinking heavily, you would stand up for your deceased friend? Henri Paul was also a show off. He bragged to the photographers that they would never get him.
      2) You say Henri Paul's blood samples were switched. There is no evidence for that. People claim that the high levels of carbon monoxide in his blood is suspicious. However if you take a sample from a heavy smoker which Henri Paul was then this is what you expect to get in the test results. If you take a sample from say the feet you would get a low Carbon Monoxide count, but take it from the neck you would get a high count as that is where the toxines from tobacco will be.
      3) The cameras in the tunnel were off due to maintenance, which every camera in any road or tunnel has to be maintained. Having them off at midnight is normal, as this is a quiet time of the night and having cameras off at that time for maintenance is satisfactory. This happens in London , New York, Los Angeles etc. It is not just in Paris. Things happen randomly. You can pick and choose that you see as coincidence or as conspiracy evidence. Your choice.
      4) The Fiat Uno was simply an idiot driving in the tunnel at the time. Henri Paul was already driving erratic to get away from the photographers, and this idiot driver was in his way, leading to the eventual crash. Nothing more. French police eventually interviewed Le Van Thanh, a Vietnamese plumber and night watchman whom they thought might be the Fiat’s owner, but it took the detective work of Scotland Yard in 2006 to conclude that the French had indeed got their man-and he was not a conspirator. Thanh’s failure to own up and the swift repainting of his car in red were not for any sinister reason. He was simply an immigrant afraid of getting entangled in French law, which punishes a driver who fails to stop at the scene of an accident.
      5) It is impossible for Diana to have been pregnant at the time of her death. A few days before her death she went on holiday with a close friend, a sort of girls weekend away, and at that time Diana had her period. So no pregnancy.
      6) Diana’s body had to be embalmed at the heat in Paris in late summer would lead to decomposition of her body. They also wanted to make her presentable for Prince Charles who would come to collect the body, and also for her children, as no one knew that Charles would not take William and Harry to Paris to see their mother.
      7) The ambulance stayed at the scene for such a long time as it was thought to be medically better to treat her at the roadside. Please remember here that this was a horrific car crash. She was in such a delicate state, and so they did not want to risk the death of the princess in an ambulance driving fast through Paris.
      So I hope this will have answered a few of your questions and theories. Please remember, that there is no evidence whatsoever of a conspiracy. Some people can’t stand the fact that there beloved princess died in a car crash. Some want to use it to blame the royals for everything. Now I am no big fan of the royals, I have my questions about them but I doubt that they would have planned to kill her. Prince Philip actually wrote letters to Diana saying how could his son Charles leave you for that Camila woman. It is there in written letters.
      The two people who suffer the most from these theories are William and Harry who have mourned her, and will always remember her, and wish to move on. That is what we should be doing. It is 2015, move on.
      Thank You.
