I recently renovated the abandoned 100 square foot garage in my back garden in preparation for moving in. It has suffered a lot of neglect over the years so a lot of work was needed to get it move in ready. Electric was already supplied to the building and I had water lines added before starting. A lot of prep work was needed before moving in, including cleaning, sanding, painting, laying the floor, installing the kitchen and designing the interior. The end result still surprises me with how comfortable and functional it is.

Good job. One request: The reveal needs a couple steady shots to give us a good long look of each area, esp. the kitchen. Too jumpy.
Definitely agree with you on this, thanks! 😄
Press pause 😅
this!!
Yeah, I had to slow down the video speed for the reveal.
Yes!
EDIT: You can now watch the full tour here: czcams.com/video/d5zw57fMP_E/video.html
I'm down for a full tour.
Yes please!
sure! i was missing a bit of background - like is this tiny home next to the house of your parents? are you planning to plant something in front of yourwindow and how is your experiance using it so far? especially these days its quite warm - do you use an air conditioner?
I did not see any tour ! 😂😂Full tour nx video please
& total cost breakdown. Thx
I would love to see a full tour but please slow down and don’t move from space to space so quickly. I’m still dizzy 😂.
Great job! Thanks for taking us along for the ride! And I appreciate you pointing out your mistakes! Those are the kinds of things that can really help people trying to do the same!! 👍❤️🔥
Great job? it was appalling!
Thank you for showing your mistakes, this is the REALITY lacking when you hire professionals. For those who can't afford that, this is a great video. Well done! Love the gorgeous blue you chose.👍🏻😃🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
It really looks great! Couple of suggestions... to fix the issue behind your countertop, you could install a tile, or even stick on back spash... that might make up your space. Also, if youre not keen on doing a backsplash, you could put a piece of trim along the crack to conceal it. Tip #2... when the drywall/paint started coming off on your roller, you shoukd have used a plastic scraper to remove all the loose plaster, then skim coated the area to get it smooth. The pealibg means there is moisture getting in their, and youre going to have to figure out what is causing it, bcs it will just keep pealing off if you dont take care of it... enjoy your new man cave! 😍
Or just use part of the piece he count of as an up-stand (I think they look better anyway)! Simples!
Without mistakes there is no learning so they aren't really mistakes are they, they are learning points 😁 Job well done.
Hi Dan,
Thank you for sharing the mistakes and what you did next.
A lot of renovations will be edited to show a seamless process and I liked how you showed us the reality of the project.
Had no idea that magnetic and whiteboard paint existed before watching this.
I still have a huge whiteboard from my student days and I’m glad to have held onto it.
The place looks great!
Excellent end result and thank you for not cutting out the mistakes! Super helpful to see. Not to mention you recorded this video throughout the whole process. Legend
Thank you 🙂
I liked how you shared your mistakes and how you rectified or adapted to them.
You're tiny house turned out very well. I was thinking, you know how you cut your counter too short? You could have used the cut off piece & applied construction adhesive to it & glued it to the wall & on top of the gap. The cut off could have been a backsplash. It would have totally matched. Nevertheless everything turned out awesome!
Yep! A watersplash...great idea! ( You must be morning at Ikea, right?! Or made the same mistake once?!🤪) Thx for the tip!!👍🏼
*working....
There might still be time for that to be done to cover the gap! Nice idea.
We learn from what goes right and wrong. Thanks for including both. Is there a bed in your space? Next vid show us you waking up, getting out of bed and making coffee
Thanks! It's not large enough for a permanent bed (unless I pitched half of the roof and put a bed in the loft which I definitely did not have the time, money or skills for, but maybe one day) but I do have a sofa bed in there which I use 🙂
@ 7:08 and @ 7:15
An absolute beauty of a renovation. The aspect of adding reality to the mix definitely elevated the video. Great one! Definitely subscribing now.
Thank you!
Looks great, would love to see a floor plan and why you placed everything where it is
I don’t know how this doses not haver more views this video is pure perfection keep uploading videos like this and I will sure u will be famous
AHH thank you! I have a million things to improve, but I've put off starting to upload something for 10 years and I'm having so much fun! Really annoyed I waited so long to start!
@@DanQuirkeI loved the pacing and energy in this video, really fun to watch.
Never seen time lapse plaster before - great idea!
Great job. I love that you point out mistakes to help folks avoid them if they try something similar.
It’s amazing what can be done with 100 SFT! Hope you plan a lovely entry patio/garden for the front.
Well done, great job. I'd have gone for the pop-on blinds in the window seals and a blackout blind to reduce the cluttered feel curtains give. And hung the blackout at the ceiling rather than just above the window, less light creep, clutter and it's out of the way when not in use.
You're getting loads of new subscribers - we're suckers for this kind of thing! Looking forward to your next project! 😎👍
I know it would be extra expense and hassle, but I would have made the window a glass pocket door or just have it open outwards on security hinges to have access to a small court or garden. A quick flash of a floor plan in the video would be nice also.
Great job. Appreciate u showing all of the mistakes. Yeah, we need a slower video of the final look. ❤
I’m sorry but the hole in the pants sent me 😂😂 glad to know im not the only one that keeps old/torn clothing and wears them around the house or during messy projects 😅 ANYWAYS Love how this turned out. NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE !!!!
I still have some tracky dacks from probably 15 years ago that are ratty as all get out. Holes, threadbare, covered in paint. Used for bumming around my parents house and helping them out with messy jobs alike.
I love how realistic this is. Showing the mistakes and how you work to fix them. Great video 😊
You made a superb job with what looked like just a shed. In the end when you had finished any young person would be very happy with that. Well done you. 🥰🐾🐾🌺
It is a shed.
I love that you show your mistakes. What a great job!!
Great re-model! Tip for practical bedding. Sew homemade quilts made from cotton fabric, designs can vary. Using thin batting or woven cotton blanket, double stitch for durability. Make two, maybe three, then use them as bottom and top sheets, alternate them and wash regularly. Keep them stacked neatly, which takes a quick minute, and living room area looks perfect. What bed. 😃
The white sports om the blue wall was actually kind of Cool, it looked like stars!
It's gorgeous! What style! Thanks for the journey and tour!
I’m glad I came across this video, and enjoyed it. Going forward though, add “made the reveal too short and jumpy” to the mistakes list! There are elements in the space I would have liked to heard described, like the cook top, the dark glassy surface above which you used to do a fancy shot of the cooktop area (a video screen??), and the innovations at the door for shoe storage etc. I think a separate reveal video with description of the finished space may be warranted.
Great transformation! Yes, on the follow up.
Looks amazing! In small spaces it's usually recommended to use very light colors. Dark colors make the space feel small.
We loved it!! Very good looking use of tiny space!!
Watched it more than 10 times now. So satisfying and give us so many ideas for our little project
Great job! I think you home looks lovely and cozy 😊
Absolutely LOVE the transformation!! I'd definitely live in there full time!!
Great work mate. I've fitted a kitchen having never done it before and it's definitely a steep learning curve.
Yes to the full tour. Beautiful job.
Hello from Southern California! What a fantastic job you did and doing it all by yourself the way you like it, is even a greater reward. Thank you for sharing! 😊😁
I appreciate how willing you are to let it be known that you made mistakes.
Really enjoyed watching this. Thank you for sharing.
Wow that’s gorgeous!
Love that blue you chose! So many people shy away from dark colours in small areas. It really makes it pop.
Love it and the darker color. ❤
How cool is watching how things come together on your first video. I hope more are coming! 💙
Great job! Bravissimo. 🎉
I live in Canada, and here it gets to -20C often in the winter months, so I need a lot more insulation in the walls for a simple electric heater to be able to keep everything warm in February. Otherwise, this is a great idea for something that I would like to build for myself too. Thanks.
Amazing!!!!!!
Your perfect descriptions of the eff ups, are equal parts hilarious and educational..thank you for that 🥰
When I had to removate my house after 2 lots of shite tenants, the thing that took the most time was trying to work out the order of things, and how by doing one thing you made yourself 3 other THINGS
Thank you! That's soo relatable 😂
Dan Love all the work you did. Thank you for posting.
I love watching such transformation videos...i find it very inspiring.. love and blessings from 🇮🇳
Fantastic remodel ....
Why use dark pain which only make space look smaller
Turned out beautifully! Loved the tiling in the bathroom!
Holy S… 😮
What a transformation 😃
First of all I love the video for what it is I think you did a great job. Secondly the two-by-fours weren't the only studs in the room and I bet at least half of your subscribers are there because so beautiful😊
Wow. Great job
Very nice & congrats on the successful makeover 👌
Where is the door?
A proper house tour for the next video.
How did you acquire this home?
What is your plan in the open space outside?
Great video and colour!
Dex life too!! You're awesome 😊
Wow!!! Watching from Germany ❤🙋
Very nice 💜.
I was at first thinking that painting the inside a dark blue would make it look a lot smaller but with the accents of other colors, it turned out looking bigger. Great job you did
Awesome!!😊
Looks great!!
Nicely done!
Wow, you designed and decorated it too? Talented guy you are !! Fabulous!
YS on the follow up video. Very brave to conquer this build. Have you considered leaving the ceiling open with exposed beams? It can be still be insulated in this design.
Love it, looking forward to more, also, amazing quality for you first video, I was genuinely taken aback when you said that!!
It's absolutely gorgeous; I'm very keen on having a tiny house built somewhere in the wildness where I grew up. I'm 63 and not as agile as I used to be, so I'll be doing the design yet will be hands on as much as I can be without being in the way.
Looks very cool!
Can't wait for more videos 🥰
Well done!
Nice result! 👍
End result is great. Mistakes are always made. Thank you for sharing yours honestly.
Great job. Everything turned out beautifully ❤
Great job Daniel! And an awesome video. Very inspiring.😀 looking forward to the next project!
Dan that piece you cut off the worktop will make a perfect upstand! (Derrrr,)
amazing! well done. excited for future videos
Hi Dan, I just stumbled across this video of yours. Well done for showing the mistakes which happened along the way. You also explained how you rectified them, which shows that you learnt from them and others will learn from you. You've done a great job, so take the plaudits on your lovely looking achievement. It looks a very nice job, so well done. 👏👍👍
The importance of building level.... can never be underestimated. Thanks for telling it like it was.
Great job!!
This is amazing!!
Absolutely Brilliant 🥳🥳🥳
Cool outcome
Congratulations. You should be proud & pleased with this accomplishment.
Super gemacht. Wünsche Dir eine schöne Zeit in deinem neuen Zuhause🎉👍🍀☀
You did an amazing job. I would love a (slow) tour to see the house and see what you did with the garden.
Love the colour of the walls with a pop of yellow, great job👌
Wow...your efforts are amazing!!
Amazing!!!!! Love it so much! It's larger than the flat we have here in hk
Brilliant!! The narration, the editing and best of all, you didn't do what SO MANY CZcamsrs do by showing the end result BEFORE the time lapse; you saved it for the end it makes for better entertainment. #AlwaysLeaveThemWantingMore
Very cool idea.
Great use of space.
Enjoy your new home.
It was hard work. 7:21
wow this project looks amazing! looking forward to new ones in the future
Thank you!
Hey Dan.
That is one hell of an inspiring transformation.
You have a real talent there. Soooo impressed. Thanks for sharing that with us. Already looking forward to your next video 😊
Thanks for sharing including the oopsies, so that everyone could learn from them. So many parameters to consider, determining the "dance" aka the order of all the interventions is probably the less fun aspect of that kind of work. Especially when bad surprises decide to pay a visit... ^^
Wow that was fun! thanks
Fantastic! That's an amazing REALLY tiny space. Thanks for sharing your mistakes😘.
that blue!!!!! gorgeous!!!!!!
Love how it turned out!!!
Awesome thanks for sharing
Beautiful job Sir.
Yep would defo like to see a full tour
Lovely video!
