Sooo I just fixed my actuator on my 2008 lancer gts using your video!! The interior rods were placed in completely different areas and had to remove different bolts to get to them (it was a pain in the butt), but the actuator was relatively the same. The motor was the same as well. I hope that helps someone!

Thank you Chris for the link. I have literally been riding around in my 03 Evo with this issue for a few years. And I have looked everywhere for a door lock actuator. I just didn't want to spend almost $300 bucks for one from the only place I knew that had (the dealership). I have searched links on Evo forums and I read only 1 person took theirs apart, clean it, and regressed it and it worked. I tried and never got it to work. So for 9 dollars and some change I will try this. I honestly had thought about changing the motor but didn't have a number to go by so I just let it be and used my key.

This helped me a lot sir, many thanks. A couple of things though, my yellow and blue clips were really hard to open. I had to mangle the yellow one a little bit but finally got it open. I didn't have a heat gun but a blow torch for about 20 seconds per bolt worked fine to break the loctite, although I discolored the VIN label a little 😅. And when changing out the motor you don't need to take the gears apart, the motor pops out with a screwdriver. Thanks for your video! (2004 OZ Rally)

A great descriptive video. I wish I had seen it before I went through basically the same removal procedure on my 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. It had the same motor issues on three doors. I had not ordered replacement motors but did manage to open the existing motor, clean up the armature commutator & brushes, reassemble ,refit and test OK. I will keep that Amazon link in case/ for when the problem returns. Thank you C.G.

They look just like yours and I'm having the same issues you've shown. My husband and I are confident we're going to be able to knock this out ourselves instead of the repair shop wanting to charge $459 for just the labor alone. This video did help me out! I have a 2010 Outlander and the instructions you give are near perfect for the outlander with only one small change I could find. The 10mm bolt that loosens the window regulator rail is not on the trailing edge of the door. On the outlander it is on the face of the rear half of the door. That was what was holding me up as I Had not loosened this bolt. After watching this video I knew I had to loosen that window regulator so I found the bolt in the different location removed it and out came the actuator! In with the new (used) one, back together and it works! I may replace the motor in the old one to have a spare

    Edit:
Today I have changed the actuator and it solved the problem. When putting everything back, make sure you connect everything properly. Because if you don't there is a possibility to lock the door and not being able to open it again (which happened to me but fortunately I was able to solve it with some struggle)

One of the things I noticed is that if I try to manually move the button that normally flips when locking, it's very hard to do and there's a lot of resistance. Gracias Homie!
My door locks been intermittently working for the last year. I just been putting it off since it's Summer but I'ma have to fix it now.
I put a list of shit I've had to fix ↓↓↓ bellow
from the common to the not so common.

    • @Thr33.Sid3z
      @Thr33.Sid3z Před 10 měsíci

Problems I've had to fix on my 05 Evo SSL:
      1. Sunroof Motor
      2. Window Actuator
      3. Starter
      4. Ignition Switch
      5. Ignition Coils
      6. Wire Harness in driver side kick panel
      7. Alternator
      8. Rusted/Froze/Stuck Bolts
      9. Brake caliper return line
      10. Wheel bearings
My Evo has had every single common and not so common issue from the sunroof motor dropping & having to remove the headliner which I found a few tricks for that after the 2nd time LoL
to more serious issues like the wire harness by the driver kick panel shorting out from water riding the harness in the wheel well down into the car. That was a bitch to fix bc you have to cut and solder/crimp 10-15 wires in the same bundle. The biggest issue with my Evo are the Bolts in the undercarriage. Doesn't matter if they are rusted or what, 90% of the bolts are stuck or froze in some way shape or form! Worst one was the wheel hub bolts that the coilovers bolt to. I had to cut them off and drill them out. It took 3 days and about 10 Cobalt drill bits & i still didn't get the holes drilled back to 100%. After doing it, it's definitely worth the $200 for a used knuckle just to not have to deal with it.
I also had to replace the front brake caliper return line which is a U shaped hard line on the caliper & Mitsubishi doesn't make them anymore. There one company that does but it was backordered for a month so I had to fabricate my own line which was a challenge bc I'd never bent/ flared hardlines before. Also, the little bolt was stuck so it had to be removed with extreme caution or replace the entire caliper🤦🏾
I've had so many problems with my Evo, but I love this car more than almost any other car I've owned and I have/had some pretty dope whips...
      • GT-R32 & R33,
      • 99 STi RA,
      • Audi B7 S4,
      • I've owned a few WRX/STi from GC8
      -Bugeye
      -Blob
      -Hawk,
      -GR Hatch,
      • a few beat up 180s & 240s,
      • One clean S14,
      • I had a 3Z for almost a full year,
Only one of them has the same effect on me like my Evo 8. And that's the "White Girl" my 99 STi RA and The only other cars I liked as much were the GT-Rs( White R32&R33)
I love White cars. I looked everywhere for a White Evo 8/9 SSL bc I like the leather interior and the asunroof but I could only find RS's so I snagged my 05 Evo 8 SSL which I've become very attached to LoL
