The best part of 'Ke$ha' and 'Kesha' are the same person to me though. As a big fan of all of her eras I really don't think she ever did a massive U-turn and went through a huge identity change between Warrior and Rainbow - the sound just matured. To me, the idea that Ke$ha is party and Kesha is majestic makes no sense because Rainbow was SO much fun, and there were moments of Cannibal/Warrior that really moved me. The best of her has always been essentially the same brash, brave, fearless, fun and vulnerable character, so this album felt like a big step backwards to me, except for some moments, it lost that feeling of being close to her that Warrior and Rainbow had :/
No, Kesha decided to give it this meaning but in reality this song was registered on Ke$ha's name back in the Cannibal era and she just wanted to make a throwback so it sounded fun to make a feature with your old self.
“Some sounded like Kesha with the $ and others were like Kesha without the $” that was the whole point of the album 😂

She was one of those pop artists who had such colorful production and a likable trashy party girl personality. Blow, Die Young, and We R Who We R are still bops to this day.

her reaction saying "this sounds dated" "this sounds 2010" is exactly why kesha did it. in my own dance she says "the internet called and it wants you back but could you kinda rap and not be so sad?" a lot of the general public who just know kesha as the tik tok girl wanted the tik tok kesha back after rainbow dropped. this whole album is a middle finger to like literally everyone because shes just gonna do whatever she wants because she doesnt care.

I love Kesha. She intentionally wanted to make a fun album that went back to her roots. I admire Kesha’s ability as a songwriter and I think she has created something unique and original. Her style is truly her own. There are few artists who are as versatile as Kesha.
I LOVE the album. It’s fun and it’s like Animal, Warrior, and Rainbow had a three way and High Road was born haha

Girl, it was literally 2020 Kesha ft. 2010 “Ke$ha”. She merged her 2 sounds beautifully in my opinion, she said this was an album that she wanted people to feel happy after listening to, and as much as she likes singing about her pain she can’t be sad forever, she wanted to get back to making fun dance pop music. Also summer wasn’t supposed to be on the track list, it got finished 5 days before the album was released but Kesha pushed to have it added.
That's the idea of the album: bring us something of the previous Kesha, Ke$ha.
I think she legitimately has a lot of fun and gets alot of enjoyment out of her roots in party girl pop pieces and she is reclaiming that part of her on her own terms, it's just a much a part of her as the purely singing parts. You are perfectly in your right not to like it but it's her taking her career and her song writing back rather than be pigeon holed by a company. This is kesha being herself, and if your not a fan of the "Ke$ha" part that is again perfectly fine, thanks for the input, it's always nice to hear others opinions.
Edit: why she didnt give us those tracks like resentment or shadow was because dr. Luke her former manager basically only approving of the party autotune songs now shes free to be the serious artist while also being the "cheesy pop bitch that got her balls back" as she put it.

Kesha is a musical genius. Personally, I love everything she has written, and seeing her live, she’s so talented. I think she also likes to play with people. She throws out a Ke$ha rap song and then immediately follows it with something GORGEOUS almost as if to say, “Ha, didn’t think I could sing, did ya?” She’s brilliant. - Love Kesha so much!

To5003To I prefer her music from Rainbow more than her old stuff. 🥴 I do like this album being a mix of it both though. I just love Kesha’s vocals. Kinky is one of my favorites and it has that mixed sound, but I love the songs like Shadow and Cowboy Blues.

The reason why "Summer" is at the end is because it's a digital bonus track - the real album actually ends with Chasing Thunder, but she literally decided to add Summer on as a bonus like the day before it was released or something...

i love this album. it’s such a good balance of new and old. Lyrically it’s just as strong as “Rainbow” sonically it’s an updated “Animal” and i love that. Not many artists can cater to both new and old fans on one album. Definitely the best of 2020 so far 🥰

That's why Warrior is my favorite album, that's Kesha's best album to date imo, 2nd by High Road
Ajay also feels that way, she just prefers meaningful Kesha over party Kesha, its a preference when it comes to the artist especifically.

I love how its a mix of everything Kesha has released in the past, its a love letter to her day one fans, but understand if you don't like it because you came from the rainbow era - where she had more serious songs.

I don’t think the first 4 tracks are as good as her debut album though. I think they’re just bad songs.
I think I like the more serious songs more just because of my growth. I’ve been a fan since Animal, it was the first album I ever owned, but I was also really young. I still listen to a lot of her music because some of its timeless, but not all of it is what I’m looking for anymore. I still love Kesha as a person nonetheless, she’s such a kind and inspiring person

The whole point of the album is Kesha claiming all aspects of her voice and showcasing her range. It’s a well rounded album full of bops, midtempos and ballads. The track listing is so well executed because It’s a perfect balance of the Kesha we first met, the unreleased Kesha, Rainbow Kesha and the Kesha we have now. The bops come and go and come back as well as the ballads never making you feel like it’s stuffed to either half’s. It’s pop perfection personified.

I love Kesha so much, she's such a unique artist. And so unpredictable in her music!
The album is supposed to be a combination of 'Animal' and 'Rainbow', with the party bangers and the emotional ballads blended together. It's two sides of one artist presented together to create one full identity.
I loved both the ‘old’ Kesha and ‘new’ Kesha on this album. The fun, crazy, party songs like My Own Dance and High Road were good and the more country, somber songs like Shadow and Resentment were also amazing! Wish Ajayll understood Kesha’s intent with the album but still happy she had a lot of the same favs as mine and REMEMBER! Respect everyone’s opinions y’all!

You know what I think it is. People got so used to Rainbow & the sounds of it, that people expected this album to be the same. This album is EVERYTHING! An album ONLY Kesha can make PERIODT.

I have no proof of this, but my guess is that revisiting that 2010 sound might be therapeutic for Kesha considering the abuse she suffered at the hands of her producer Dr. Luke. It's a way for her to explore the hedonistic, party girl aesthetic that made her a star without having it tied down to her experience with him, like she's coming back to take ownership of that sound without having to share it with her abuser.
She still speaks fondly of her first albums so at least she still appreciates the music she made with him, but the hiatus that she was forced into between 2012-2017 must have left her feeling like that part of her career was cut short in a cruel way. These throwback bangers like Tonight are her reclaiming that, while songs like Resentment and Cowboy Blues continue the more acoustic, low-key progression that started with Rainbow.
I don't know, this is just me playing armchair psychologist, but I do think this 2010-2012 sound has a different meaning coming from Kesha than it would have if it were coming from someone without her history and just going for cheap nostalgia.

I was honestly surprised by the album, positively, even though it had its downs, it is FAR from perfect, but most of them sound amazing and even the "old" sounding ones can be appreciated because thats also part of who she is, especifically Raising Hell

Kesha says in her song My Own Dance, "The internet called and it wants you back, but could you kinda rap and not be so sad", and she references similar things in a few different songs basically saying she made this album for her fans that didn't like the rainbow album and wanted the old party kesha back. Also she's still signed with Sony (everyone seems to forget she lost the lawsuit) so i'm sure Sony pressured her to go back to the dance party type music because her Rainbow album didn't have as many hits on it than her previous dance party albums.
Rainbow was so much better tho I wish we got more of that
@kosa wha I don't think that her record label, that sided with her abuser and wouldn't let her out of her contract, really would have just given her complete control over everything. They are obviously going to want to portray it that way though, because they don't want anyone boycotting them and not streaming their music.

@kosa wha I think you're missing the point i'm trying to make, but I guess I wasn't being really clear. Kesha's identity from her first songs were never her identity in the first place. It was the identity Sony and dr. luke made for her. & it just seemed to me like they're forcing her to go back to that. & kesha has sprinkled little gems throughout the album to show that. Maybe i'm reading too much into the lyrics though and trying to make something out of nothing. I still love this new album and have been listening to it non stop.

Tiktok ke$ha was just as genuine as rainbow kesha. She is not being forced to do something she doesnt want. This album was executive produced by kesha herself, and she has been clear since she announced she was releasing this new music that this is all her and she is not aiming to have hits or to be pop, she is doing what she wants to.
Of course her label has their expectations and all, but one of the heads of Sony recently did an interview where he also said that she was free to do what she wanted and that they are pleased with her music.
The image that she had in 2010 was not just created and thrown upon her, she was a big part of the creation of ke$ha, but she got tired of not being allowed to grow and the abuse from Dr. Luke, both as a producer and as a man, led her to try and break free.

Legit every song on the album is explicit, you should have just listened to the explicit version and censored it on your own during editing so your listening experience wasn’t compromised for monetization :/
