  • This video will make your life much easier as I will teach you how to pronounce many words in Russian! Make sure to repeat the examples after me and you will remember them faster! Consonant clusters are very confusing for my students of Russian so it's time to figure them out!

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH ANTONIA !!! I can not find the words to thank you. I had listened to this kind of sounds. I could hear that certain consonants were not pronounced but nobody has explained this very important point. Now I am more confident: I was listening to these words correctly. THANKS !!!

    I had no idea there were rules about those. I just thought people said these words so fast that the consonants just blended together. I guarantee the most used word with silent letters in пожалуйста.

      I've noticed some people say: "пожалста" but some people put a bit of stress on "у".

    • @andyblack5687
      @andyblack5687 Před 4 lety +1

      Steven K. Right. When I say it, I tend to leave out the у if I don’t think about it. Most native speakers I hear on CZcams definitely pronounce the у quite clearly.

    • @AntoniaRomaker
      @AntoniaRomaker  Před 4 lety +2

      й falls out for sure, as for у it is still there a little, if you do not want to sound too casual ;)

      " people said these words so fast that the consonants just blended together. "- of course. blended or "supressed"

    I definitely needed this video haha. You should make a video on how to pronounce "для". The "дл" consonant cluster is impossible for me. My boyfriend says it sounds too close "бля" when I say it haha. People on the internet says it sound better if you try to pronounce it more like "гля". I'm not sure how that sounds to a russian's ears, but maybe?

    Really, as Russian, i think, it's not important for pronounce. If you say "празДник" instead "празник" or "месТный" instead "месный", etc, you will be look as a bit pedantic, right, not relaxed man (or may be an orator), but it is all. :)
