Thone marathon distance bloodline is mainly built on the world-famous 'Golden Grizzle', which goes back to the early '60's. It is truly amazing how this colour was preserved for so many years. You will find an overview of our current (and past) marathon distance racing pigeons below.
The pigeons showed in this video are categorized as Marathon or distance pigeon, since Thone race from 100 up to 1108 km (Barcelona). They breed their pigeons accordingly, also by crossing bloodlines in order to bring more speed into long distance and vice versa. There is a fluent border between the categories. Enjoy watching!
