When Daniela Silivas went onto the podium, she was obviously the last gymnast to perform in that rotation... all eyes were set on her.
Beautiful routine.... oh, how I miss those days!

That would be a cool interview! I was never impressed with Shushanova's compulsories either. This might be my favourite comp FX if all time. I love how Silivas literally floats into that final split scissor leap 🥰

Dobre's routine was stunning artistically. She doesn't have quite the amplitude on her tumbling and jumps/leaps that Silivas does. But she was very pretty to watch. Overall, my favourite compulsory FX routines from these Worlds were definitely Dobre, Silivas, and Omelianchik (although not necessarily in that order).

Same...exactly. The 3 that were the most beautiful to watch. Silivas was always the epitome of perfection in cumpulsiories. Dobre & Omelianchik were artistically stunning to watch.

It's funny that how I also enjoy Omelianchik. but I have always found to fail to find Shushanova's compulsory routine appealing... Dobre, Omelianchik, and Silivas were trendsetters for this exercise. I wish I had gotten Omelianchik's Interview from 2021 from Ukrainian TV downloaded before it was taken down. It was about an hour long and she really went in depth about all the compulsory routines from this era and even the 1989-1992 era.

@@211jump I guess it's fair to say that Shushunova's strengths were not in the 'beauty' of her gymnastics but rather her strength, power, and maybe most importantly her consistency. For the most part, she shined in the optionals (although her compulsory vault was of course fantastic).

@@211jumpWhat does Omelianchik say in her interview? I’m curious. I wish you had it so you could post it. I love her!

    I like compulsories so much!

Same. Maybe gymnastics would still be pretty & artistic if they had kept compulsories.

Silivas and Omelianchik the best on compulsory floor in 87,

The Romanian Compulsories for this quad were their best compulsories ever. I think their compulsory floor beat the Soviet Union at least at this World Championships in terms of execution and artistry.

Maybe the most disappointing routine for me here in this video is Voinea. While her tumbling is fantastic, she seemed to struggle with some of the choreography. I guess this style of routine was not well suited to her. Her optional floor routine was much better IMO.
