Charlie thanks for your comment, sir I am by no means a CZcams activists, I tried to do my part within my community, I Mentor young teens, I volunteer my time as well at the Juvenile Detention Center as much as I can.. I'm involved in a couple organizations geared toward helping young black fathers and young black mothers.. perhaps I took your words out of context but what I meant by a ridiculous comment, you implied because these kids could not articulate themselves with simple English they had no potential. it's an unfortunate situation I agree and I get that however everyone has potential to do better if they're aware that the resources are available. I was once like these kids, we become a product of our environment which means it's almost impossible to understand the grass is greener on the other side. As a kid my biggest aspiration in life was to sell drugs or pimp women in hindsight I felt that way obviously because that was the social Norm at the time. it wasn't until I had the opportunity to move to Alaska when I began to realize the grass is greener on the other side and the things I was exposed to as a child we're not right. again I appreciate the comment sir I didn't mean any disrespect but thank you for responding in a positive manner. Lastly it's easy for us to sit back and judge these kids without showing any type of empathy, it's difficult for people who haven't walked in their shoes to understand or even grasp the concept of hood living, it's not as simple as one would think to just get up get your life together and stop with the ignorant mentality
Kosmos de Kosmopoliet I don’t think anyone would molest these kids. You can find peados in gangs. They usually groom kids into the gang and sometimes they will get sexual favours.
Mike Maloney If you use too many words, they get suspicious. Take it from me. I grew up in this kind of neighborhood. Luckily I was an 'A' student and left it all behind me.
The last Republican mayor was Louis Miriani. Some historians blame Albert Cobo for the start of the decline, he did not support the black community at all and put I-75 right through their neighborhood. When Coleman Young took office in 1974, white flight was at full throttle, the riots in 1967 started it., through whites started leaving for the suburbs in the 50's, 1967 was the first nail in the coffin. I had relatives that wanted to buy a house across from Palmer Woods and the house was $40,000 in 1974 dollars. By 1984 it had all changed. Myself I believe Coleman Young was the final nail in the coffin. Whites left, they moved their business and families to the burbs in mass numbers when Young got in.
BTW historians don't even consider Coleman Young as one of the worst mayors in Detroit history even though the neighborhoods collapsed during his tenure.
The Feds spent some time trying to nail Young. City was just too corrupt under his reign. Taking him down wouldn't have mattered. Young, Gil Hill and all the top cops were on the take for the crack gangs in the 80's. Truth be told Detroit was dying a slow death beginning in the early to mid 50's. The riots in '67 were just the scapegoat for all the failed policies of Cavanagh.

Dropped dad a voicemail one Sunday afternoon letting him know I was going to go for a drive to see gramma and grandpas old house. By the time I got there dad was blowing up my phone telling me to stay the fuck out of that neighborhood that we didn't belong there anymore. Sure enough I was surrounded at a 4 way stop being asked if I wanted anything and when I said I was just there to check out my grandparents home told to gtf outta there. Scary shit it was. Especially when leaving the neighborhood I was pulled over by the police and pulled out of my car because I didn't look like I belonged there and asked where I hid the drugs because I was a white suburban kid in a gang infested drug dealing zone. Their thinking was the only reason someone like me would be there was to buy drugs. Sad when you can't even visit your grandparents home for the memories. Warrendale has definitely changed.
@Leonard Carr what do you mean? I just said that the similarities between the neighborhoods and structures shouldn't be much of a surprise. Especially due in part to the fact that many of the same groups of people migrated to and from Detroit/Windsor long ago and still do I'm sure

I live not too far from this and it’s sad to say, but these conditions literally spread. All you have to do is drive down some side streets in damn near any suburb of metro Detroit and you will see more and more neighborhoods turning into this. The deeper you get, the worse it gets. You’re in one city on the other side of the street and it’s safe and beautiful looking and then you cross the street and now you’re in a different city and this is what you see.
No if you were in Detroit people do really care that much what you are we might look at you a little funny then move on but everybody here is not a stereotype we do care about others
All that abandoned big land is a exelent place for farmers to grow fruits and vegetables sad toI see land that are not far from the city not being utilized
@Angelo Iafelice I'm glad we agree👍don't forget they need to restore a blight law to Detroit as well.people shouldn't be allowed to burn diwn houses in arson and insurance jobs and let them sit that way and decay for years on years .only in the city of Detroit will you find that.out here if ur house burns down you have to pay to remove it otherwise ur fined and face possible jail time if the fines aren't met.the city is cleaner in the suburbs because people follow laws and ordinances.flat out!
I still remember the very first time I saw a derelict building, I was 24 years old and staying abroad in the UK, and seeing it I remember thinking to myself that it looked like something out of a film. It's easy to forget that you're blessed sometimes, growing up in a decent, civilized country.
Sad place , yet charming cus it reminds me of the old days back in early 80ies when nature was overgrown many places , not just in the hood , and u had abandoned buildings etc , it brings back the nostalgia from 30-40 years back . (cant stand how society looks today , all clean streets and modern arcitecture, the oldschool charm and feel is gone, but they still have that in the hoods)
Bad memories of that Citgo gas station you stopped at. Got my car window busted out at fucken noon a few years back on my way to work. When we moved to that area (7 mile and Schoenherr) in the late 80’s it was awesome...everyone had pride and respect for their community. Neighbors looked out for one another. The hood is definitely not getting better.
I'm old enough to experience the thriving times of Detroit's east side & the katabasis. It's hard to stomach, but it will always be home. Detroit vs Everybody 👍
Didn’t know a place like this existed and I use to live in Chicago in the 80’s. This is real scary perfect place for a scary movie. Stephen King give these people a part in your scariest movie. The studio of horrors is already setup. Plus it will help the community maybe. May god help and bless these young brothers that was born into this.
I love it how people that were raised in nice suburban houses like to talk down on my city. To y’all this is hell but to me it’s everyday life. It’s really not as bad as it seems. If u stay out the way and mind yo business, u can walk wherever. Good job for being born into a home with both parents and a nice area👏🏼I can’t say the same🤷🏼♂️but it’s okay, cuz Ima be the story that made it out tha hood with only my mom by my side. Be great full for wachu have Cuz it’s a lot of people that don’t have even a dollar for a bag of chips🤦🏼♂️Y’all have a good day
I used to live on 7mile and Mound and quite honestly I think the two guys commenting about it being a shithole or that you have “low standards” just don’t understand. They don’t have the mental capacity to survive on anything less than what they’re used to. Sheltered little bitch boys who think they can look down on us and “feel bad” bitch we feel bad for you. You’re softer than mashed potatoes and we don’t have low standards you punk ass bitches are just high maintenance. Instead of trying to shit on someone who is motivated to become something better, how about you worry about your backyard gazebo, or your picket fence. Someone who grew up with diamonds is always gonna think gold is trash. But at the end of the day our needs are actually needs, you all convinced yourselves that your wants are your needs. I pity you. #DetroitKeepsItReal

This crap is moving out to the burbs. Fitzgerald High School is a disaster, it's a jungle in there. Jennifer Granholm started it when she opened the schools to anyone out of district. The crime has slowly started to increase in the burbs and this is why.
@@albertcobo9645 your so right. The crime has moved north. And it also has to do with Warren mayor fouts allowing all the detroiters into the warren schools and also allowing the immigrants in. This all play's a part.
Jessica Edmister, It was a state ruling. Fout's can't deny them the right to go to school in Warren. In 2004 Jennifer Granholm was the one who changed the rule. It use to be you could only go to school in the district you lived in but Granholm a Democrat changed that because of the failure rate of the Detroit Public School System. Detroit residents can go to school in Grosse Pointe, Sterling Heights, Warren, Bloomfield or anywhere else. If they want to commute 100 miles to another school they can. And yes the crime rate increase outside of the city in public schools due to her decision. Fitzgerald High School in Warren now resembles the school in "Lean On Me". A student was murdered there in class last week.

They solved neighborhood crime. Nobody living in the neighborhood. Very strange not to see any one in some neighborhoods. A world taken over by nature. Some day some one will come back and do something with the area. Just a lot of us won't be around to see it.

What happened here?
I accidentally drove to the hood but people were nice...they helped me find the right way...maybe they never seen asian in person...i guess
ITS ASIANS IN MY HOOD 2. IT WAS MORE ASIANS THAN WHITE PPL IN MY HIGH SCHOOL
No if you were in Detroit people do really care that much what you are we might look at you a little funny then move on but everybody here is not a stereotype we do care about others
Black ppl are not racist or mean to outsiders
baa848 blacks are racist in Europe...
So because they were nice to you meant that they haven't seen an asian in person? What kind of ignorant comment was that?
Amazing. I really appreciate your work!
Good to hear what people are saying to bring more awareness. Thumbs up on your videos also.
Them boys had that banger ready Charlie safe down there
Boppers
All that abandoned big land is a exelent place for farmers to grow fruits and vegetables sad toI see land that are not far from the city not being utilized
Well there no way to utilized that land when chicago debt limit is way high tho
They have urban farming.they are starting to plant some gardens over there now.at least the gardens are better than the blight
Damn CharlieBo313, your channel is starting to really blow up! 130,000 subscribers! Keep the videos coming, brother!
Janah you have got to be out of your mind. You want to live like that.
I think the thing your missing is poverty and failing infrastructure
This has that “ LIFE AFTER PEOPLE “ look to it . The earth will be a better place !
It's a different world, with different rules. Amazing footage brah. Peace
T T Moore ok boomer
Frozen Sauce you sound like my 7 year old fucking cousin dude stfu
Sad how no one cares how they live. Sickening.
Audrey Haim they do it to themselves though
Tbh detroit vs everybody encourages the victim mentality which is already an epidemic
That’s the old hood, glad I’m outta there now
what kind camrea you use it awesome. I was born and raised in Detroit salute, I have moved since but My heart and Soul will always be detroit
Your channel is the truth 🔥💯💯
It’s just so sad that these people could likely prosper had they been born into different circumstances
At :48 there was a home where the owner demonstrated pride of ownership...appears to be a rarity in that neighborhood.
💯💯 keep it up gotta come do one in my Hood one day I’m down
Didn’t know a place like this existed and I use to live in Chicago in the 80’s.
Be great full for wachu have Cuz it’s a lot of people that don’t have even a dollar for a bag of chips🤦🏼♂️Y’all have a good day
Its a fucking shithole....hell on earth
I support you my man 👏🙌 these dumbasses haven’t gone through shit in their lives and probably got everything they have baby fed to them.
Fwy onnat💯but a nigga aint grow up lovely and i came up inna 2 parent home not 2 far from da hood juss a min away.. in souf Florida.. and shih hard comin up wen yu gettin did wrong by yo own blood ole boi(dad). All over the Midwest, same thing
Damn bro your channel has blown! Congrats man
These neighbourhoods look like they're going to turn into lost city backpacking trails in the future
Currently I live in the suburbs of Detroit. Thank God I didn't have to be born in this. I thank God everyday I wasn't born in the ghetto.
You have a huge advantage over other's of ur kind.ur parents we're some of the smart one's that obviously worked to provide their kid's with opportunity.great job👍seems like you we're raised right.
@@albertcobo9645 yes i know.a girl was murdered all over a boy.very sad. 1st of all they need medal detectors in these area schools now cuz times have changed and people are smuggling all kinds of stuff.second people tried to stop her and the other girl still died.so that young girl outwitted all those other people trying to stop her.she was nuts and knifed her to death.I believe i seen her funeral pressesion go down Gratiot the other day with a horse draw and carriage.so sad.that girl didn't deserve to die.both girls valdictorian.that other girl got salty cuz the one was talking to a boy she liked. Kids need to worry about studies not boys.smh😔
Lucky he didn’t go down the wrong block, some blocks see a car they don’t recognize and shoot it up worse than bonnie and clyde’s car
Jacob Bunea thats not true people so quick to down our cities because of our population n the way the hood part looks but no ones shows the good parts and the mansion n university district parts. Also yes Detroit has violence but thats everywhere name one city that hasnt have problems before people are so quick to judge n say ohh if you step in Detroit u will get shot when that is not true. I will no longer let people do this in front of me. Detroit is a good city we just have to work together to build it back up.... #Detroit #Motorcity #313
salty chip that was a very racist reply you really could’ve have kept that to yourself. You probably never even been here. Also I never said that Detroit didn’t have violence some of the most richest cities have violence. I specifically said people make it seem as if you cant sleep at night here because of what they see but Detroit is a great city. Never di they see the good parts on the bad so if you dont know the insides please dont answer back on something
@salty chip you seriously shouldn't be spreading that kind of opinion on the internet. Like come on. It might "fact" to you but to a lot of people its just downright rude. Keep your opinions to yourself
salty chip and here you are..trashing people that are different than you any chance you can get.
Would like to see this route driven in winter. What is/was the "Millennium" (@ 00:03:34)?
They was all clutching on sum heat Fr 🤣
even chuck norris wont dare walk his dog at that place
If I lived here, I'd be forming a caravan and heading to Mexico demanding asylum!!!!
No welfare in Mexico.
Charlie Boi damn bro yous a real dude. You drove through my old hood though its a ghost town now. But when you walked around O block you obviously must be very street savy. For real.
After watching, I had to call my dad to make sure he was still around
East Cleveland has fallen on hard times, as well. It's a shame to see that some once prominent American cities have deteriorated so much.
Cleveland and Detroit are almost identical in alot of ways
Not the Detroit my grandparents lived in. Something out of the movie Book of Elijah...😢
I swear ive seen the talk guy in the back in an other video, always got his hands down his pants
He's got a gun dude
I have a feeling even Charlie was like "what?" at the end
Detroit dirty ashit, there's mom's spaghetti all over the street 💀😂
You driving thru them streets toooooo slow lmao
Shit u cant be havin them think you an opp
No one likes living in a ghetto, but if the circumstances haven’t changed in generations, for whatever the reasons, you would never have hope for anything more in life.
They solved neighborhood crime. Nobody living in the neighborhood. Very strange not to see any one in some neighborhoods. A world taken over by nature. Some day some one will come back and do something with the area. Just a lot of us won't be around to see it.
David S not until the black people realize what the Bible says what the wicked has laid up is for the weak they need to take over those lands but they excuse they don't have no money and the city doesn't care the state of Michigan doesn't care because they feel like nothing but black people live there
It's simple. 1. Get a job. 2. Mow your lawn. 3. Have a tiny bit of self respect. You'd be amazed at how differently you'd be treated.
Easy for you to say
Look you talking from an outside perspective you wouldn't last a day in Detroit I was born and raised here
Can't get a job when your government makes sure there's no decent jobs in sight you fuckin idiot.
Get a job? LOL! The whole neighborhood has one liquor store. Where should they get a job?
Homeboy wit the hoodie on 😩😍😍
The whole city don’t look like that I live in a nice neighborhood in Detroit
I would say Detroit is one of the most hood cities in the United States.
justieml8 Chicago
Baltimore
It is
Not true
@Thomas Barrish are you proud that’s its a bad city?
Detroit is like a tier 2 third world country. It’s crazy to think that city has dwindled down to only about 700k residents in the last 70 years.
This the type of neighbourhood that Freddy Krueger has nightmares about
Detroit is like a city from the south but up north. Wasn't that move (Don't Breathe) was filmed in Detroit
