I'm a new subbie. I really need your help. Perhaps that is why the universe shifted so that we cross paths. I had a long medical condition that I'm coming back from. I lost my confidence youthfulness and style. France is on my bucket list for travel destinations. I want to look chic stylish and expensive on a severe budget. I'm a new Yorker born an raised but I had my own style. I'm trying to find my new style for this 50+ era.

I just found your channel and I so love it!!! I'm Dutch, almost 65 and just now start trying to find out what I like, love and what looks good on me. I have already learned so much from you, thank you for that. I am on a very, very tiny pocketmoney budget, I have no income myself, and buying the best clothes for me is hard...but...I just started picking up sewing again. So I will make first some of the basics, like a nice shirt, top, pants and skirt in the right colours. You have given me so much inspiration allready, and I just watched a few video's. Looking forward to watch the rest and learn how to dress like a French woman, and most of all being confident!!.

When I was learning French and went to school in France, I taught my husband to speak French (with a Texas accent). We decided that we would live like French people in Texas. It's so fun...we shop for our groceries every afternoon and we cook French food. I have a great tip for nails! I've been having my nails done for over 20 years and recently with the COVID-19, I learned about KISS Impress Nails. I'm totally hooked and will probably never have my nails done again!

Thank you for sharing your pearls of wisdom on how to live a more intentional French lifestyle. This wkend I cut my elbow length hair to a lob, got a mani/pedi with black cherry polish and feel amazing! Although we are living a new normal with Covid, I picked up red tinted lip gloss just to brighten my face and give the appearance or more whiter smile. I so enjoy your channel and content! Keep sharing!
Have you ever considered doing a video on wearing pearls? Love them! But it's a fine line between classy and OLD with pearls lol. I have a collection that belonged to my grandmother and great, great, great aunt and would love to make more use of them.

Hi Frederique I just found your channel and subscribed. Love your content and like you, black is my colour too! I have people telling me to wear more colour but I never feel comfortable or confident when I do. People say as you get older do not wear black as it's too harsh against the skin but I don't think I will ever stop wearing it. I buy different textured fabric to add interest and break up the black. Looking forward to watching more of your videos xx

I've identified so much with the colour issue as you have described. Everytime I try something colourful, I'm like "hmmm this is not working". The nails factor as well, I find it very very important (besides, pointy nails freak me out).
Also, regarding the clothes.: I prefer to have a few in good quality materials than a bunch of low quality ones.

Love this video! Thank you! I do my own nails, but my job is hard on my hands. I find that using a fleshy pink color, like a "french manicure" pink color, and only doing one coat, works very well for me. The one coat is less likely to chip, if it does it's not very noticeable, and my nails look good no matter what.

I found your channel last week, and I have been enjoying them so much. I also l love to wear black, I always try to add pieces of clothing with color, and always gravitate to black, gray, cream, navy so I have decided tojust go with it, and add color with my accessories with scarves, jewelry. I also can not wear the jackets, I am just about 5’2 and they must don’t work on me, but I love cardigan sweaters . I know I should buy and find a good Taylor, but I would rather put the money into a good quality piece of clothing .

Good video, thanks. Silk is a fiber, satin isn’t. Satin is a particular weave, with one glossy side, that can be made of many different fibers. Satin was originally made only of silk. By satin, I assume you mean polyester satin? Acetate is another possibility, but poly seems the most common.

Good advice in all your videos but something I don't find classy or chic is having tattoos: I think it spoils every nice outfit for any women young or older.....
I think your body type is a soft Gemini. Like me. Long and loose clothes tend not to look good on me. And Geminis are usually petite.

It's just a body type system that helps find what looks the best on you. When you have features like yours (I guess ours 😅) baggy clothes might make you look a bit like a small child. Where as well-fitted clothes and turtlenecks look the best. The color doesn't really matter in this system. So you can wear earthy colors as much as you want!😁😄 Those are the colors I have in my wardrobe too.😊❤

Hair... I let my hair go gray and maybe shouldn’t have. I have long hair and it is nice, not thin not thick. But gray?...maybe not as pretty as it could be.
Gray is really pretty if its healthy. I live in the US where not too many people embrace their gray. Then I spent a couple of months in New Zealand where gray hair is much more common and got to see that it's not really aging. What looks bad is dark dark hair on 45+. To avoid looking washed out, try a light lipstick and mascara. With gray hair you can look fresh and pretty with very little makeup and very little effort because the color shows up. Keep it!

I like your channel and your advices. But, it is not nice to see Buddha statue as a decorative piece on a shelf.
I will add to have pedicure once per two weeks, even during winter, there is nothing uglier then feet that are not take care of both in women and men perspective, and do not use cold color nail polish on your hands and feet, sometimes it look very ugly
Love your videos, great advice. BUT one thing I cannot understand, re: you and others giveing fashion related advice. It seems like nobody born after 1960 has ever heard of a needle and thread. A TAILOR to take up or let down a HEM???? Are you all serious??? One blogger/adviser recommended a TAILOR to sew on a BUTTON??!! Oh you're all so BUSY yes but it takes less time to do it yourself than to find a tailor, deliver and collect back the idiotically small job. Pin the new hem line, try on and adjust, then use a simple running stitch - DONE. UNBELIEVABLE. You all are inciting the Karen reaction in me and I am trying to not react. PS, Really sorry for the poor innocent women and girls actually named Karen LOL but not really.
