It's actually cringingly obvious she's only playing along with the propaganda, to be a tour guide and get a camera in North Korea. Which she is extremely brave for doing. If she didn't put a positive spin on it, she wouldn't just be out of a job, she would disappear.

Word. I was at a bar once in my twenties, just minding my goddamn business, when this drunk ginger comes up and starts hitting on me...hard. I politely decline, he doesn't stop. After a few minutes of this when he realizes he's getting nowhere, changes tactics and gets right up in my face and starts yelling "Why would I want you??? You're a dog! A DOG!!!". Still gives me a chuckle to this day.
