Really interesting idea to be honest. Another way it could be spun would be that Yugi wouldn’t have lost to Kaiba anyway, maybe it was never the heart of the cards but fate. Like it could have been that Yugi would meet Atem, no matter what, and that’s the future he sees. Maybe then he becomes too reliant on the ability to see the future, constantly playing so far ahead - knowing what the opponent has only then for it to be defied by someone else (like Kaiba) and have that similar ishizu moment but for Yugi
Yeah like Marik’s sister would of still bumped into yugi except with a twist, help from the pharaoh atem like it’s still destiny even though she would of met yugi in the series which she might of saw earlier because of them looking similar which holds a lot of answers
I would love to see a sequel where Yugi with the Millennium Necklace entered the tournament to make up for his mistake. With Exodia in his deck he will have a chance.
Originally he made a huge mistake since he couldn’t see into the future with the puzzle which is why he lost exodia to the ocean but with the necklace he would be able to predict it and avoid the outcome meaning he would of had exodia even all the way to the finals
Really interesting video! I also think the necklace is probably narratively the second most fitting item for Yugi after the puzzle - Yugi's an inquisitive character, which is what lead to him solving the puzzle, so a series in which an alternate Yugi explores the past of his opponents through visions, allowing him to understand them better in both character and duelling style could be pretty compelling. The rest of the items having powers like Mind Control seem like the kind of stuff Yugi would refuse to use.

@@MultiversalStudios a less confident and more introverted yugi most likely might not have spoken much with her.. as he would not be as friendly.. and be spending more time with his games. At least that's the kind of vibe I'm getting.
I could also see him getting the key. Gaining an understanding of others, seeing into their hearts like before, except he can do it literally now
I like the idea, but I don't think it works well for the story / world. The Puzzle's ability is to manipulate luck / fate whenever someone is in dire situation leading to a lot of those last draws in the game being unable to occur.
This leads me to think the best / only way the show would go with Yugi having the necklace is if he saw the events of the future and what would happen to grandpa and pegases' plans. Knowing there is not much he can do. He writes a letter to Pegases basically saying "I know what you plan to do to me, you can have the necklace, but don't hurt my grandfather and I will give you the necklace." I feel at this there is a lot more room for Pegases to be taken off guard, make a deal with Yugi.
But hey its just an idea.

I've had a theory of my own if Yugi had the Necklace, and it was dark because Yugi would be stuck in a hell loop.
The Pharoah's spirit would still be around, but this time, the spirit is little Yugi from the future.
Everything we've seen in the show and manga has already happened and keeps repeating for what seems to be an eternity.
It'd be like Steins;Gate where Yugi is the only one who keeps reincarnating in ancient egypt and modern times but keeps his memories.
Even if the spirit loses in the Ceremonial Battle, the cycle keeps going.
This makes Yugi go mad and eventually turn to the dark side.
What happens next is anyone's guess.

If there is no duelist Kingdom weevil never throws Yugi's exodia into the ocean, now you can see the future and he has exodia in his deck, meaning he knows every card that his opponent is playing and you can just play a stall deck and win with exodia every game
What if, instead of beginning with an adaptation of the end of the death-T arc and skipping to the duelist kingdom arc, the show began with an adaptation of the monster world game played at the end of the monster world arc before skipping to the dungeon dice monsters arc, with 'the girl from America' (where the blue eyes would be in good condition) and 'legendary heroes' (the vr game) from season one being used as a transitional period between the two because it would be weird to jump from battling bakura to playing another dice game against Duke, and Rebecca is needed for future anime arcs, this has adverse effects like, none of the majorly important parts of duelist kingdom, Kaiba not getting mind crushed until towards the end of 'legendary heroes', and a smaller focus on duel monsters as well as a broader focus on games in general.
It was pretty cool to see you do something like this. But there's definitely a reason he's got the Puzzle
What If Yugi had The millennium Ring He'd probably be more Like Manga Yugi with cruel Punishments inflicted on those Who Lose to him
The ring spirit and Atem (puzzle owned by bakura) would both be inflicting shadow games on people and the ring spirit would still be wanting that puzzle. (Yugi's just gonna be out there like 'chill out spirit, I haven't slept in 2 days.')

What if similar outcomes we’re the same like having the millennium necklace being thrown away by joey only for him to get it back but when joey got into trouble yugi would still step in since it feels wrong and could predict a way to stop the bully once and for all with the necklace with able to see the possible outcomes of winning, when it would come to seto since the other items are not around to interfere with the necklace yugi would be able to win against seto just like he did with the puzzle except this time with the necklace as himself but when he would come across the other millennium items like for example who ever would have the millennium eye which I think should still be Pegasus but for the millennium puzzle it would make sense for Marik’s sister to have the puzzle around her neck since the pharaoh would still be inside it so it would mean the pharaoh would be guiding marik’s sister, she would eventually bump into yugi wanting to ask a lot of questions on yugi and atem looking so much alike
I always understood that Ishizu gamg to Kaiba, offering him to organize a Duel Championship because Ishizu could see the future.
But since Ishizu could no longer see the future and is no longer protected by her brother and his rod, she would probably end up as another slave or murdered by her brother.
Which might also mean that Kaiba's Duel Mastery would never develop.

Tea was Yugi's friend before he completed the puzzle. The only people his wish affected were Joey and Tristan. He was going to wish for Tea's panties initially.

@@MultiversalStudios the ring granted the wish for friends by turning them into figurines, Pegasus saw his wife one last time. So it is at least three, although it might just be the dark relics that have the ability.
what if yugi and backura swapped like backura was the main charcter and had the puzzle and yugi was the main villain with the ring
Instead of giving yugi a new item. It's more interesting to follow who receives the puzzle

Just because I'd be in "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS KID" mode.
You made a few mistakes in your theory. If yugi did have the necklace, and was able to see the future, he'd know Joey would toss the item in the drink and either dodge him all day or not wear it that particular time.
Also, Tea was Yugis friend BEFORE he'd finished the puzzle, so she'd still be there in his life.
So basically for the necklace comment, basically I said yugi didn't know how to access the full powers of the necklace, which is why he didn't see it coming 😊
But ur right tea was always his friend, but I would like to think there bond grew stronger because of the puzzle

Every millennium item grants you one wish so he would’ve made the wish of having friends and the rest would be the same aside from having the necklace and not the puzzle.

I heard it in a video explaining the items and in season one when Pegasus got his millennium eye he wished for his dead wife to come back but it happened for a short period of time because he had to be specific. Also if you look up if every millennium item grants a wish it will tell you.

Yugi would definitivly lose in the official duelist kingdom. Most duels he won only by a confident pharao who made sh*t up as the duel went along.

Also the idea of seto, Jake, and chazz,, which are strong duelist individually, but putting them together will probably get their Eagles fighting each other, which would then cause them to lose, by not working together as good. This is why I see joey, cyrus, and Crow being able to work together and flow with each other's dual styles
