A tough thumb-squeeze will go a long way in helping you stop gag reflexes. All you have to do is encircle your left thumb in a fist. This will help counter a strong gag reflex. It works because the pressure placed on your thumb distracts your mind and makes you forget about the invading tool at hand.

Wow, it did have an effect, and very noticeable. Perhaps didn't get rid of it all, but I'd say I feel probably 80% less of it. Can't wait to show it to friends lol
See a more permanent solution for me it only took about 3 days each day about 30 minutes. See you don’t just shove your finger but there you put your finger in your mouth a touch the edge of the gag zone and just work your way until you don’t gag any more

Why do you need to press on your chin. Can you just squeeze your left hand and then pinch for the same effect?

I did this about a year ago and shoved my fingers down my throat to see if it still worked lol.. it did and I could feel my throat opening and closing to swallow lol
