Ironically, me wanting to make beats for my friends in the early, mid, and late 90's and into the 2000's led me to listen to King Crimson records, Mahavishnu Orchestra records, Billy Cobham solo records, Steve Gadd and Return to Forever records..... “I couldn’t catch the beat”..get used to it bruh lmao Tool will introduce you to time signatures you’ve never heard in music. They are the 4 best in their fields (vocals - Maynard James Keenan - Guitar - Adam Jones Bass - Justin Chancellor, and last but def not least, the octopus banging on the drums better than anyone to ever do it is Danny Carey). Please react to the Drum Cam video of Danny Carey playing Tool’s “Pneuma” my personal favorite of all their tracks. I hope you dive in to these guys the way I think you could. Tool Army Here, TOOL is a progressive rock band from LA. Members are Maynard James Keenan lead singer, and song writer. He is considered to have one of the best voices in rock music. Adam Jones lead guitar he also did animation work on movies like Jurassic Park, and the Terminator. Justin Chancellor bass guitar is from England, and was in a band called Peach before coming to TOOL. Danny Carey drums he is called the octopus cause a normal person would need 6 arms to do what he does with only 2, on the list of best drummers in the world ever he comes in at #5. TOOL just released a new album in 2019, and quickly became #1 on the charts, and they won a Grammy for one of the songs on that album making it their 3 Grammy over all. TOOL (THE GRUDGE) next please.
@@vicimg84 while you are right on the octopus part...I think of Danny Carey more like the Hindu God Durga. Would totally love to see them create that visual graphic during a show on the backdrop with some laser beams on acid! LMFAO
If you haven't heard it yet, check out Tool's "Schism". It's well known for exemplifying their rhythm and time signature changes - I think it was somewhere in the order of around 40 meter changes throughout the song. Edit: 47, apparently, according to Wikipedia.
RAH TOOL came out in the early 90's. They are good friends with the band RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. Tom Morello (RAGE guitarist) and Adam Jones (TOOL guitarist) went to high school together and are good friends and even played in a band together. Maynard the lead singer of TOOL is the guy who sings the breakdown in RAGE's "KNOW YOUR ENEMY." Here's a link to the live performance. czcams.com/video/R2K2hSB4fEU/video.html
Good stuff! Cool to watch someone’s musical third eye open up and see them looking over the rabbit hole they’re about to fall into. You won’t be disappointed. Keep it up!
Musical third eye... looking over the rabbit hole... I'm mostly original but every now and again I see somebody say something so perfectly that I in my extensive experience and vocabulary still could not improve upon When that happens I'm extremely impressed and this happens to be one of those times I could not have said it better myself
he noticed it right away. the first thing he noticed was that he couldn't find the pocket because the first pulse he felt wasn't the actual meter but a polyrhythm
Just about all music, especially rock, channels the American blues. TOOL is a band that you experience vs. listen too. It’s a trip, and takes time, but it’s worth every second of your investment no doubt. Maynard has a magical way of always drawing you in, and what he sings about is never trivial. If you explore further down the TOOL rabbit hole, buckle up, and remember to keep your arm & legs inside the ride at all times. 😎
Tool Army here... Loved that you spoke of having to get your ear used to a new sound. It's very true, like learning a new language. Tool is amazing... Advice.. Never use a one of their videos. They tend to be too much of a distraction for a first-time listen. Also get a video with the lyrics or have the lyrics nearby they make a huge difference to how you hear the music. Next... Lateralus Parabol/Parabola Jambi Pneuma Invincible 7empest
Tool is the elite exceptional rock band that combines smart lyrics with exceptional playing talent the time signature beats are classic Tool. Don’t try to figure it out, the drummer will carry you through the rude. Here for the long ride. Great analysis.
Florida, TOOLS fan base is called TOOL ARMY, we all share a favorite Tool song, ITS THE ONE WE ARE LISTENING TO AT THAT MOMENT! Tool just got you another sub! Awesome reaction sir 🤘🤘🤘please consider Ænima, with lyrics, you can thank me later 😎🤘🤘
RAH - Rich from Orlando. TOOL is one of the greatest bands of all time. Dive head first into this amazing discography. You'd be hard pressed to find a bad track from these guys. Check out the GRUDGE.Lyrics are helpful with this band. Love seeing your mind and genres expand. Love the channel.
Awesome stuff bud! Best band on earth and it's not even close. You're in for one hell of a musical journey if you go down this rabbit hole. Buckle up. My favorite from Tool right now is "Invincible" off the new album. But every Tool fan will tell you they have a new favorite from Tool damn near every single day. Tool army is gonna flood your channel soon, so you won't be lacking requests lol. Cheers!
Palm Springs, CA. Pretty much every Tool song is great. May want to get the volume up a little louder. All the way up on this end sounds like volume 5. :) But Lateralus is my favorite song. Tool is one of the world’s greatest rock bands. Danny Carey is one of the best drummers too. You’re so right about the genre hard to pin down. If it can be categorized it would be progressive hard rock. Progressive meaning there are a lot of transitions in the music. Tool is fascinating. Awesome reaction.
So TOOL is not your ordinary band You can just tap your foot to like your typical 4/4 time signature song, It goes way deeper than that homie. With undeniable captivating vocals/ lyrics, using very different off beat time signatures, tribal beats/ polyrhythms and different unique sounds that literally tap into your sub-conscience and they will literally take you on a musical journey/experience you won’t forget. 👽WELCOME TO THE TOOL ARMY👽
“6 songs in one” is how you are going to feel with most Tool songs. Give Swamp Song a listen, it’s one of my favs and it’s maybe 3 songs in one. Great reaction!
Pat from Michigan but live in Tucson because snow sucks ass. Trying to pick a favorite Tool song is like trying to pick which kid to sacrifice. Tool use to be considered "progressive metal" but they've been dropping since 1993 and the consensus is they own their own genre. These guys are in their mid fifties and they just knocked Taylor Swift out of the #1 spot in the billboard top 200 in December.
Ænima is definitely my favorite album but a favorite song or album with tool is like having a favorite expensive, classy aged wine, they're all still top shelf wines with their own unique flavors no matter which one actually suits to your tastes best!
@@jakehyrule7260 Idk, tracks like "Jimmy", "Eulogy" and "Third Eye" aren't quite as nihilistic as a lot of the album is. You can definitely tell it was in between "undertow" and "lateralus", not as heavy but also hasn't fully progressed into that more psychedelic sound yet either.
I raise all in with jambi one of my favourite tool songs at the moment. My personal favourite is has and always will be lateralus for many reasons. For you though dude i think going with whats going on right now across the world vicarious is definitely an apt choice.
Tim from the uk Tool is not just a band they provide you with a handbook of how to learn to help yourself to think for yourself and to grow as a human being. They never sing about trivial things they always have something serious to say. The tool army is global and there is a reason why they have such a following. The thing about tool is the meanings of the songs are ambiguous and vague on purpose so the individual relates to the song in any way they can. This is why tool has such a wide demographic of fans. It means what you feel it means thats what counts. To me tool are the life raft i needed when stranded at sea. Through thier music i was able to reconnect with myself and confront my issues. Personal growth is the primary message i get from this amazing band. Keep growing, keep experiencing new things, stay humble, stay connected, stay you just the best version of you at any one time. Really liked the reaction. Think you will enjoy digesting thier lyrics in your own time. As for the tool army... React to tool, we will come great vid thanks =)
Yeah bro...I used to be a 90s rap and R&B listener before I came across this band.Their music opened up my mind to a whole different reality of music. There is a lot of transitions and drops in their music. The lead singer Maynard has some very deep lyrics and is one if the best vocalist out there.Thats why he is the lead singer in 2 other bands lol(A Perfect Circle and Puscifer)Stick with just the music and have the lyrics on hand when listening to Tool.Stay away from official music videos because they are a seperate art piece. You can react to those later.Yeah thanks for coming to this band you wont regret it.It will take some time to get use to the music because you are use to the typical way songs are written from the rap and R&B structure. This band takes you out of that box for a reason so you can make new connections in your brain from hearing something you have never heard before. That helps you evolve as a person.Thats reak talk.Welcome to the Tool rabbit hole🌀You wont come out the same person again👽
Watching young people discover Tool has become a bit of a hobby of mine lately. I love watching your face as your world expands before my eyes. It makes me understand why teachers continue to teach. There is a simple joy to it.
Check out a song called the Grudge by Tool. Pull up the lyrics also. It’s the way the artist would prefer you “shake hands” with a song. I have a feeling you’ll listen to this one again. When you do pull up the lyrics and you’ll be like...wow. Next level 🏅
Hey man, I don't usually watch your stuff, but I really appreciate that you put the ad right after the song ended and right before you started talking about that. Most big CZcamsrs don't even put in the effort to do stuff like that.
Chapel of Sacred Mirrors: Cosmic Creativity, Entheogens, and Psilocybin with Allyson and Alex Grey Alex Grey, the visionary artist best known for his TOOL album covers, has founded what might be the most unconventional church in all of New York State.
As a long time to listener I found this very interesting to hear because I had never heard of this before. Out of curiosity do you know where I could find the meaning of the m? It is not the normal symbol you would find for an m and I know letters or words like that generally have a different meaning.
Ænima and Lateralus are my favourite albums by them. Undertow is also really good it’s just so hard to find a favourite song because they are all so good all album as they have produced are amazing. I really vibe to the grudge, H., schism, and sober
I appreciate the hell out of videos like this for so many reasons. Artistically you enjoy what you've discovered. Cross culturally we realize we have so much to share.
The best rappers listen to all different types of music. That's where all the dope samples come from and inspiration in general. Great artistry and musician ship comes from this. Keep expanding your horizons my man!
You should try “Right in Two” off 10,000 days, “Lateralus” off the tittle album and “Pnuema” off Fear Inoculum. 3 different eras of the same band that will change your mood in 10 minutes or less

RAH REACTS , it’s not that your ear isn’t trained, TOOL is it’s own animal. They use beat counts that make absolute no sense. And draw inspiration from the golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence. I’ve listened to them for over 20 years and if I’m hearing something new from them I can’t catch the beat. Instead of using basic 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 they do weird stuff like 1,1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3,4 and will throw in 16 beat counts
That's Alex Grey who did the artwork for the album cover of this and Lateralus. Incredible painter who takes LSD and just paints what he see. Many people who take DMT and such claim to have seen this. Ask anyone around the world that have never heard of or seen his artwork and they'll tell you. It's crazy. That's another story. My point is his art is crazy!
Subbed for more Tool. I hope you continue your journey. Tool is unlike any band you have ever heard or will ever hear. They have no bad songs. Fact. The singer, Maynard James Keenan, is next level and also writes all the lyrics. Adam Jones is the guitarist and he is the most creative beast ever. Justin Chancellor is the bassist and he is the key to the band. He usually holds the beat/riff and Adam, Danny, and Maynard riff off of that. Danny Carey is the drummer and he is widely considered to be the best drummer of any genre currently alive. The band just won a Grammy for "Best Metal Performance" for their 16 minute piece "7empest" off their latest album, "Fear Innoculum" which came out in 2019. They formed in 1992 and have been putting out albums (rarely :( ) and performing ever since. Maynard, the singer, also has two other bands he sings and writes for: A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. No Tool journey is complete without at least dipping into those bands, as well, especially if you like Maynard's voice, because he is LOUD AND CLEAR in those two bands. Enjoy whatever Tool/Maynard work you choose to react to. I, naturally, would prefer it all LOL. Stay safe!
It's cool that your really hearing the bass. His name's Justin Chancellor. Check out tool's rendition of You Lied which is by Justin's former band Peach. Unreal bass on that track!
Tool is legendary. I had the honor to see them live in 2009 and I am proud to have been in the same building as them. Danny Carrey’s drumming is out of this world. Like a mixture or the song bo diddly and John bonham. I love bo diddly And am a huge old school blues lover. Tool is one of the greatest bands in existence.
Basically , the guys , Danny Carey , Adam Jones , Maynard & then Bass player Paul D'Amour grew up around Hollywood , became frustrated with the dying Glam Metal & Grunge scene and , you have what is called "TOOL". That is the short version.
bro...heads up..rock is way different than hip hop... a LOT of transitions and beat changes..something you have to get used too..thats what makes rock so awesome.
Rap has transitions and beat changes as well. Anything that Tech N9ne has done within the last 10 years shows that and Hopsin as well who Tech signed. But yes, rock is gut.
That beat is straight smooth. Ah man those drums are clicked in like safety belts voice struck down all that's left the feel that crawls under the breathe this is a jam to take in pack down deep inhales slow exhales to the shades end.
I believe tool is considered progressive metal but you really can't define them I mean what other band can make a song that follows the Fibonacci sequence found in nature that's a whole nother level of intelligence and musicianship look up the song lateralus it will blow your mind it literally follows the Fibonacci sequence.
Honest reaction! I enjoyed the hell outta you watching this. Good job dude. Energy, conversation, break down. Everything I wanna see in a reaction. I was on the ride with you bud.
I'll do one from each album because I don't know if I can accept just putting down one. Opiate - Sweat Undertow - 4° Ænima - Third Eye Lateralus - The Patient 10,000 - Rosetta Stoned Fear Inoculum - Invincible Keep in mind all of these tracks are interchangeable depending on what day of the week it is to how far along the current rotation of Saturn is on; and that at one point, all of their songs where my *absolute favorite.*
Awesome that he noticed the time signatures being very unique. That is TOOL. I am from the US but live in Thailand now, and if you have not done it yet, you should react to Lateralus.
I honestly think that in 50 years people will talk about tool the same way people talk about the Beatles and The Stones do today. Fun seeing them heard for the first time.
Idk if anyone has said it, sorry if I repeat someone...the Artist is Alex Grey. He, same as ALL Maynard bands, is an experience. Check him out. As well as Maynards other two bands; Puscifer and A Perfect Circle. You are a joy to observe on your music journey! Thank you! Welcome to the Tool Army! Spiral Out
I love to see people looking outside their normal tastes and appreciating something new and beautiful. To watch you delve in and love Tool, that's awesome. I'm getting goosebumps knowing you're getting goosebumps, I love it. There's nothing better than watching someone's eyes light up, making the same connections you've made, for the first time. My recommendation for more Tool, if no one has said it, is a track called "Third Eye." Peace and love.
The lead singer is from a small town in Ohio called Ravenna but then he moved to California where he met the rest of the band. They are Progressive rock/metal and my favorite song of theirs is probably 46 & 2.
I love the open-mindedness. You've listened to one song and it seems like youre already a fan being a Tool fan, id love to reciprocate the gesture and listen to something of your favorite genre/artist
Tool is a progressive rock band so the time signature is constantly changing and complex, with each instrument often simultaneously playing in a different complementary time.
Welcome my fellow Tool Head. Tool is not Music, its an experience. Their lyrics dwelve into metaphysical subjects, as well as the irony of the life we live, the cynicism from an almost religious pov but never being preachy. One song can be literally about Experiencing existance (Lateralus), The next can be about How to cook cookies with weed (Die Eier Von Satan), Songs about the fight against drugs and personal freedom ( Third Eye) and the need for violence but never experimenting it (Vicarious). Welcome, music that speaks to the soul ;)
My favorite band in high school!! This is hilarious!!!! Nice confused look- so perfect- I’ve been back at the fanship lately since I started drumming recently. The baaaaaaaaest!!!
What’s hilarious is I had the same reaction to first hearing Tool back in the late 90s early 2000s after listening to mostly hip hop/rap/R&B all my life. I was like “Wtf is with this rhythm?? “ But truthfully Tool is different from most other Rock/Alternative etc. Tool is it’s own animal. NOW you HAVE to go to a concert..... absolutely mind blowing visuals and effects You will thanks me later!
I appreciate you, love how you really listen to this. I wish our society was as diverse as you are. Great music is universal, what a great way to unify this crazy world. Congrats brother, you do you.
Thanks for helping broaden musical horizons and bringing all fans of music together to enjoy styles they don’t normally experience. If you enjoy TOOL you should give A Perfect Circle a listen. My suggestion would be Judith.
They are a phenomenal band and put a lot into their work. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Definitely check out their newer stuff. Liar lawyer mirror show me what's the difference. That's the line you will have stuck in your head. Keep doing your thing brother.
Whaddup, Rah? Shouting at you from Springfield, Missouri. Tool is my #1 favorite band, so favorite track by them is difficult, but it would have to be the two-parter, "Wings for Marie (10,000 Days)"
I think something a lot of people without formal musical education either fail to realize or haven't been taught is that Metal and Rock are descendants of blues, which is itself extended from African spiritual music brought by slaves to America from Africa. The strong emphasis on vocal tradition and rhythm is something that carried over deeper into genres like Rock,, Metal, Rap, R&B, and all sorts. People can sometimes be divisive when it comes to "x racial group enjoying y musical genre" but in truth most of the ones we all listen to come from the same place and there's no reason anyone shouldn't be able to enjoy it. P.S. If you want to hear some WILD and occasionally hauntingly beautiful stuff look up Bulgarian Folk Singing. You can thank me later.
Tool Army here 🤘 welcome to the rabbit hole 😌 next you should do Descending from latest album im sure you will enjoy it more 🤗 greetings from Armenia 🤘
From Cleveland Also try: 46&2 Lateralus Fear Inoculum Schism Sober Parabola Wings For Mary part 1 10,000 Days (Wings part 2) Maynard also sings for A Perfect Circle and would suggest "Judith" after you play "Wings for Mary and 10,000 Days" by Tool These songs are about his mother who was partially paralyzed by a stroke in the late 70s
The artist for the cover is Alex Grey, he has been working with TOOL for a long time. MJK (singer/songwriter) is amazing with the lyrics, they have a lot have double meanings. Their songs are generally very long. One of my favorite songs is Euology, it's about Ron L. Hubbard. This is progressive rock, they have been around since the '90's. MJK is in and has other bands. He is in A Perfect Circle and Pusifer.
..and this is probably one of the more 'straight forward' songs from Tool. lol Both of the guitarists from Tool and Rage Against The Machine went to high school together and have remained friends ever since. The bands both started out in Los Angeles in the early 90s and rose to success at the same time. Tide - Bay Area, CA
Good stuff, enjoyed this. The beat is sometimes hard to catch because the band often uses odd time signatures and odd time rhythms, so you cant just count to 4 as you would on most music. And they might change it up dozens of times per song. In addition, they are crazy with the polyrhytms - meaning that the different band members very often play different rhythms on top of each other but it all adds up. That’s why you might see 2 people listening to a Tool song, and both are bobbing their head in a different rhythm but both are still correct. You don’t really need to understand the math behind it to vibe along tho, if it sounds good it sounds good. Here’s a couple of pointers if you don’t mind, some stuff to keep in mind with Tool if you’ll be doing more Tool songs: -Please stick to audio only. Tool music videos are really cool, but weird as hell, and you’ll most likely miss half of the track looking at the visuals. Unless you’re going for a double reaction, audio only first and the music video after that. That’s not a bad idea either. But Tool fans generally like to see people reacting to the music and the lyrics, not so much to the videos. At least on first listens. -please also avoid all fan made videos and lyric videos, as they tend to have some additional mumbo jumbo mixed in that will distract from the music, and very often the lyrics are all wrong. -Also, it’s recommended to keep lyrics pulled up, Tool has some really great writing and the vocals are mixed so low that it’s really hard to catch everything. Here’s a few songs you might like: -46&2 -The Grudge -Vicarious -HWAP (don’t be scared of the full title, there’s no genitalia in the song lol) -Parabol/Parabola (1 song made up of 2 consecutive tracks. Tool does this a lot, so stay sharp with the recommendations. Lots of reaction channels be reacting to songs that miss the other half completely..) -Ænema Subbed, congrats on the 1k Hoping to see more Tool soon. Peace from scandinavia
I would love to tell you bro. This group formed in 1991 in Los angeles. Considered Art Rock, or introspective rock. Tools lyrics and guitar/bass/drum riffs make the listener reflect on the bigger picture. The drummer Danny Carrey trained in African style drum beats takes listeners off the beaten path which a mirage of different off beat drum paths. Maynard J keenan lead singer focuses on existential questions. The Pot this song has alot of meanings but. Most importantly tool is meant to be used as a tool for the listener to interpret their life. Im writing a book about my experience about this band. And how they have changed my life in a positive way from learning guitar to how i have a better relationship with different people. Excited to see more of your videos. Take care and wish you the best bro.
This is Jordan from Kansas City Missouri my favorite tool song is Flood followed closely by their new song Pneuma. I spent 10 years of my life obsessed with everything hip hop and rediscovered rock with tool. If you are really into hip hop and all of its history...Funcrusher Plus has got to be the greatest album of all time. The first time I listened to it I wasn't very impressed but it became the only album I could listen to over and over again and it got better with each listen its very complex

Taleho in the beginning and Taleho in the end
Tool Army here...
Loved that you spoke of having to get your ear used to a new sound. It's very true, like learning a new language.
Tool is amazing...
Advice.. Never use a one of their videos. They tend to be too much of a distraction for a first-time listen. Also get a video with the lyrics or have the lyrics nearby they make a huge difference to how you hear the music.
Next...
Lateralus
Parabol/Parabola
Jambi
Pneuma
Invincible
7empest
You don’t listen to TOOL.......You experience them,,
Tool is the elite exceptional rock band that combines smart lyrics with exceptional playing talent the time signature beats are classic Tool. Don’t try to figure it out, the drummer will carry you through the rude. Here for the long ride. Great analysis.
Preciate that Rich 💯
Open e played in drop d while some glee club sounding dude sings about meditating with crystals for people.
Yes re: The Grudge
S/o to Orlando🏁 welcome to the fam Rich
I've couldn't say it better man
Richard, I am in Clermont
TOOL is this generation's Pink Floyd.
So Ben how hot is it in the land of the Chocolate Mountains today?
Theres a lot good stuff in tool's repository, Aenima and lateralus will give you a good thought proccess
Pneuma is also another great track
Everything tool does is brilliant
Ænima is definitely my favorite album but a favorite song or album with tool is like having a favorite expensive, classy aged wine, they're all still top shelf wines with their own unique flavors no matter which one actually suits to your tastes best!
Aenima will give you a good thought process on hoping everyone dies.
You should check out "the Grudge" or "Pneuma" by them, but yeah the genre is Progressive Rock
I see your "the Grudge" and would like to call with "Ticks & Leeches"
I raise all in with jambi one of my favourite tool songs at the moment. My personal favourite is has and always will be lateralus for many reasons. For you though dude i think going with whats going on right now across the world vicarious is definitely an apt choice.
@@timfarrow1545 Jambi is the shit but Aenema is a good track for someone first getting into tool as well
I think it is more accurately classified as Progressive Metal.
SJ Bell more classified as “Tool”
cover art is a painting of Alex Grey, who claims he saw that while on dmt.
Tool is an experience, it's amazing how every note is in its place, the right time to make you trip
Greetings from Bolivia.
Lol “that was like six songs in one.” Yes.
Also their genre is: Tool.
Watching young people discover Tool has become a bit of a hobby of mine lately. I love watching your face as your world expands before my eyes. It makes me understand why teachers continue to teach. There is a simple joy to it.
Really enjoying their music looking forward to more
Check out a song called the Grudge by Tool.
Chapel of Sacred Mirrors: Cosmic Creativity, Entheogens, and Psilocybin with Allyson and Alex Grey
Alex Grey, the visionary artist best known for his TOOL album covers, has founded what might be the most unconventional church in all of New York State.

As a long time to listener I found this very interesting to hear because I had never heard of this before. Out of curiosity do you know where I could find the meaning of the m? It is not the normal symbol you would find for an m and I know letters or words like that generally have a different meaning.
It’s a beautiful thing, watching the birth of a new Tool fan. You’re in good company bruh
✊🏿💯💯
Ænima and Lateralus are my favourite albums by them. Undertow is also really good it’s just so hard to find a favourite song because they are all so good all album as they have produced are amazing. I really vibe to the grudge, H., schism, and sober
I appreciate the hell out of videos like this for so many reasons. Artistically you enjoy what you've discovered. Cross culturally we realize we have so much to share.
Preciate that a lot! 💯💯
Check out lateralus .. 46 and 2. Crawling away. Right in two
TOOL members --
Maynard James Keenan (vocals)
Adam Jones (guitars)
Justin Chancellor (bass)
Danny Carey (drums)
M from NOLA. You’re not supposed to catch the beat with Tool! They are known for their odd time signatures. I would do Jambi next.
S/o to NOLA 🏁
Nah do H next, better then jambi
The best rappers listen to all different types of music. That's where all the dope samples come from and inspiration in general. Great artistry and musician ship comes from this. Keep expanding your horizons my man!
Preciate that man 💯🔥
You should try “Right in Two” off 10,000 days, “Lateralus” off the tittle album and “Pnuema” off Fear Inoculum. 3 different eras of the same band that will change your mood in 10 minutes or less
Checkout Rah Reacts - Pnuema & Rah Reacts - Lateralus 🔥🔥
That’s the thing about odd time signatures...eventually you feel it, and a whole new world opens up!
Great video.

“Prison Sex”. Is on of my favorites due to the bass. Strong subject matter but awesome instrumental
Lead singer is maynard james keenan, kind of a mad genius really, listen to Vicarious, Sober, or especially AEnima... AEnima all the way...
You should read the lyrics to this band as you listen. Very poetic and moving.
Definitely definitely read the lyrics
That's Alex Grey who did the artwork for the album cover of this and Lateralus. Incredible painter who takes LSD and just paints what he see. Many people who take DMT and such claim to have seen this. Ask anyone around the world that have never heard of or seen his artwork and they'll tell you. It's crazy. That's another story. My point is his art is crazy!
🔥🔥
If you react to it, the ToolArmy will come.
Thank you from a metal head and hip hop enthusiast. Music is the language of unity, love and prosperity!
Much love 💯
dude...must react to vicarious and jambi by TOOL... Bangers!!
Great reaction!. Just listen to more. A new world gets opened up! And the more you listen the same songs the deeper they get. Never gets old.
Now that you heard it once. Do a listen for yourself with lryics in hand. The song has a deeper meaning.
Say less 💯
Stay safe!
you should listen to Maynard's (singer) other band, Puscifer in particular "The Humbling River" song, some enlightening shit man
One of my favorite songs to ground to 💜
It's cool that your really hearing the bass. His name's Justin Chancellor. Check out tool's rendition of You Lied which is by Justin's former band Peach. Unreal bass on that track!
"The Grudge" is one of my favorites. Honestly though, there isn't a bad TOOL song in my opinion.
I can't wait to hear the grudge.. droppin real soon 🔥
I can't wait to hear you react to it!
Here's me rocking out to L.A.M.C.
Forget the grudge for now. If u like hard, listen to jambi, dude, u have done it now.
The grudge is crazy bro hahaha
Basically , the guys , Danny Carey , Adam Jones , Maynard & then Bass player Paul D'Amour grew up around Hollywood , became frustrated with the dying Glam Metal & Grunge scene and , you have what is called "TOOL". That is the short version.
bro...heads up..rock is way different than hip hop... a LOT of transitions and beat changes..something you have to get used too..thats what makes rock so awesome.
Starting to notice that 💯
Rap has transitions and beat changes as well.
💯💯 Lateralus reaction on the channel
Good review. Badass that you are appreciating the music, time signature, and meaning they put into Tool. Subbed your channel man
Good looks, preciate that John 💯💯
You're picking up a lot more than you give yourself credit for. Great react video! That line about stank face is amazing.
Preciate that 💯💯
Honest reaction! I enjoyed the hell outta you watching this. Good job dude. Energy, conversation, break down. Everything I wanna see in a reaction. I was on the ride with you bud.
Btw my favorite song by Tool is anenma. I sing it at my favorite karaoke bars, and get into it.
Preciate that 💯💯
I'll do one from each album because I don't know if I can accept just putting down one.
Opiate - Sweat
Undertow - 4°
Ænima - Third Eye
Lateralus - The Patient
10,000 - Rosetta Stoned
Fear Inoculum - Invincible
Keep in mind all of these tracks are interchangeable depending on what day of the week it is to how far along the current rotation of Saturn is on; and that at one point, all of their songs where my *absolute favorite.*
🔥🔥
I absolutely love watching younger people react to TOOL. They have been my favorite band since I was 16, I'm almost 42!
The genre is Tool. Some will say prog metal, but they are like no one except themselves.
🐐🐐💯💯
Idk if anyone has said it, sorry if I repeat someone...the Artist is Alex Grey. He, same as ALL Maynard bands, is an experience. Check him out. As well as Maynards other two bands; Puscifer and A Perfect Circle.
You are a joy to observe on your music journey! Thank you!
Welcome to the Tool Army! Spiral Out
Yes Alex Grey go crazy his artwork is dope 🔥🔥 glad you’re enjoying the content preciate that a lot 💯
Nice! Lots of rhythm changes with Tool! Just let yourself go and let each song take you on journey!
💯💯💯
i fucking love seeing the reaction to the rhythm changes, THAT IS EVERYONE'S REACTION LOOOOL. the head nod shifting, that is literally TOOL
You've listened to one song and it seems like youre already a fan
being a Tool fan, id love to reciprocate the gesture and listen to something of your favorite genre/artist
Tool is a progressive rock band so the time signature is constantly changing and complex, with each instrument often simultaneously playing in a different complementary time.
I think that was a fair and honest review! Well done 👏
The is no substitute for genuine reactions
Welcome my fellow Tool Head.
Tool is not Music, its an experience. Their lyrics dwelve into metaphysical subjects, as well as the irony of the life we live, the cynicism from an almost religious pov but never being preachy. One song can be literally about Experiencing existance (Lateralus), The next can be about How to cook cookies with weed (Die Eier Von Satan), Songs about the fight against drugs and personal freedom ( Third Eye) and the need for violence but never experimenting it (Vicarious).
Welcome, music that speaks to the soul ;)
listening to Tool can be like the most badass math lesson one has ever had... peace be upon you, sir.
Welcome to the rest of your life Rah, TOOL brings the groove every. single. time. Listen to MORE, BRUH!
Facts. Tool is 🔥🔥🔥
@@RAHONLYFAM Yee. Absolut-yee.
My favorite band in high school!! This is hilarious!!!! Nice confused look- so perfect- I’ve been back at the fanship lately since I started drumming recently. The baaaaaaaaest!!!
🔥🔥
Aghhh! Thanks for attending to my comment:)
What’s hilarious is I had the same reaction to first hearing Tool back in the late 90s early 2000s after listening to mostly hip hop/rap/R&B all my life.
I was like “Wtf is with this rhythm?? “
But truthfully Tool is different from most other Rock/Alternative etc.
Tool is it’s own animal.
NOW you HAVE to go to a concert..... absolutely mind blowing visuals and effects
You will thanks me later!
🔥🔥🔥
Cheers from France !
Every Tool song is my favorite !
... check them all !!! ;-)
Tool exists to show us something. Wether you see, feel or hear it. Or all at once! Spiraling out from the Netherlands!!!!
💯💯 shoutout to the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I appreciate you, love how you really listen to this. I wish our society was as diverse as you are. Great music is universal, what a great way to unify this crazy world. Congrats brother, you do you.
“If the stank face come out for more than 10 seconds, it’s a cold track. Don’t matter what genre it is!” - fuckin’ PREACH
Facts ! 🔥🔥
Preciate that bro 💯💯
Whaddup, Rah? Shouting at you from Springfield, Missouri. Tool is my #1 favorite band, so favorite track by them is difficult, but it would have to be the two-parter, "Wings for Marie (10,000 Days)"
Salute Keenan big shoutout to Missouri 💯💯
If you can wrap your head around it there will be no turning back. Long live TOOL!
🤘🏿🔥🔥
I wish that I could go back in time and experience Tool for the first time again.
Brother you ain't seen SHIT till you see them live. Life changing. And I say that whole heartedly.
I can only imagine 🔥🔥
From Cleveland
Also try:
46&2
Lateralus
Fear Inoculum
Schism
Sober
Parabola
Wings For Mary part 1
10,000 Days (Wings part 2)
Maynard also sings for A Perfect Circle and would suggest "Judith" after you play "Wings for Mary and 10,000 Days" by Tool
These songs are about his mother who was partially paralyzed by a stroke in the late 70s
Sub’d dude! Awesome reaction! Tool is the greatest band ever! You won’t find a bad song. Try right in two off the same album.
He is in A Perfect Circle and Pusifer.
..and this is probably one of the more 'straight forward' songs from Tool. lol
Both of the guitarists from Tool and Rage Against The Machine went to high school together and have remained friends ever since. The bands both started out in Los Angeles in the early 90s and rose to success at the same time.
Tide - Bay Area, CA
TOOL is its own beast my friend. Depth of lyrics. Their timing and rhythm is like no other, musical genius.
Here’s a couple of pointers if you don’t mind, some stuff to keep in mind with Tool if you’ll be doing more Tool songs:
-Please stick to audio only.
Here’s a few songs you might like:
-46&2
-The Grudge
-Vicarious
-HWAP (don’t be scared of the full title, there’s no genitalia in the song lol)
-Parabol/Parabola (1 song made up of 2 consecutive tracks. Tool does this a lot, so stay sharp with the recommendations. Lots of reaction channels be reacting to songs that miss the other half completely..)
-Ænema
Subbed, congrats on the 1k
Hoping to see more Tool soon.
👽🔥TOOL ARMY IS COMING🔥👽
Cheers from Texas brotha!!
I just landed 👽
