Too bad it uses ZB II roadster w/ a hardtop as its model and not the outright coupe. I'm a Viper guy through and through, but that is the worst looking model they could've gone with, especially for a circuit racing game.
Dude shift is heavily slept on imo as a racing game. Slightly mad was such a good studio to cook on these games. They used the literal best sounding audio engine I have ever heard in a racing game. And bro what made this game even scarier, is the intense breathing when you crashed. It actually felt like everything you were doing in the game, were critical to not only win the race, but for your driver to survive. It’s a shame EA killed slightly mad with the shift series. I loved shift.

The Viper is even faster than the Corvette Z06 in Carbon, but way tougher to handle.. while at Most Wanted it was grippy AF.
To me this is the best generation of the Viper there is. Not many modern games have this generation of the Viper. The only modern games I can think of is The Crew 2 and Gran Turismo 7.

I think the reasons why this generation of Viper no longer appears in racing games is because the final generation of Viper was technically the "best" one (especially the ACR model) and the first generation was famous for being a dangerously difficult car to drive (technically all of the Vipers are but Dodge made each subsequent generation easier to drive than the previous one hence why the final generation is the best one). So racing games end up using either the last gen Viper or both the last gen and the first or second gen Viper. So this particular generation of Viper ends up suffering from middle child syndrome similar to other cars like the Skyline R33 GTR.
@CyanRooper It's the same thing with a lot of other cars with a lot of generations. I wish more modern games would include the 05-09 Mustang GT, as that generation of Mustang is personally my favorite, but people would rather have the known classic models, like the Boss 302 or the newer models of the GT500 or GT350R. That's just the way it is, as newer cars, and classics are seen as more desirable.
I prefer the g2 and g5 vipers
Most Wanted, Carbon and Pro Street are my favorite.
