- Got lost on Google one night. I'm not sure if I'm getting the suggested video for Horse shoes because I googled something (on another device) or if the phone actually listens...but yeah. I ended up in some weird places... Also, desperately trying NOT to click weird things but...still...it loves to only suggest feet now. SEND HELP. XD;

I cleanse my history after such a session!
I like to call it the CZcams rabbit hole.
That said, I am pretty sure you can remove them from your watch history to remove the suggestions. Also, the reason why you are getting ads everywhere now is not because they are listening, but because your phone, computer, etc. share a location and internet source, so they are all tied to the search. It's why if you share wifi with a colleague and they are looking up information on divorce lawyers during their lunch break, you will start getting ads for divorce lawyers when you are at work. (Happened to my mom recently. )
Usually if you search something in Google's search engine, they will suggest something within the topic on youtube. I noticed this when searching specific history topics, and youtube videos would pop up about them
cause it's owned by the same company, especially if you use Chrome browser or go to a site that has google ads.
I once googled something about donald duck for whatever reason and then youtube would not stop suggesting all sorts of donald duck related products
This is why all my deep dives are in the incognito window
To clear your YT history; just click on the History tab on the left side bar(Desktop) or the History tab in the Library tab. I'd suggest doing it on desktop though cause you and clear all or clear multiple faster.
I had a brief stint where I was really into working with polymer clay and sculpting little trinkets. One day while watching some tutorials I started meandering to videos about sculpting with dense slime... then to videos of people building whole scenes with slime and then smashing it all into a gross glob... which eventually led to videos of crushing other things with heavy force, like a watermelon, or a rock... or a skeleton. Bones are surprisingly soft and bouncy 😅

also, once i decided to google what a specific accent (in english) sounded like and one thing led to the other and hours later i ended up watching videos about the differences between vulgar vs. classical latin ???????? lmaooo
You know those videos where it’s people building giant houses and pools by hand in the ground? Those and I have no clue how I found them, but they’re still on my feed everyday

I've been down the CZcams rabbit hole and wound up on the Hoofgp's channel where they trim and take care of cows hooves and I find it oddly relaxing, informative and interesting.
You made me laugh so hard, I can totally relate. The worst thing is that they also track you by IP address. So, when someone else in my house looks something up on google I start getting ads and suggestions based on their internet activity too. This year I had a problem trying to Christmas shop in privacy, it is a good thing my family hasn’t quite caught on yet. They still seem to think it is just a coincidence when things start popping up in front of them.
For regular dives: I’ve gone from woodworking to building cabins from scratch often enough, sometimes straying into the crafting fields of resin and cocktails or cat furniture. Those ones bring me new channels to sub to and I still enjoy them now and again~
Then there’s the weird one which I won’t go into terrible details about, keeping it PG. in freshman year I had trouble sleeping and googled poetry, but I didn’t like the ones I read much so I kept adding different words to describe the kind I wanted. In the end instead of getting something that would relax me and help me sleep before school, I found a several page poem that left me scared for a year, crying and easily startled by the imagery used and how messed up it was. I don’t really do many “deep dives” now unless it’s clean stuff I know I enjoy, like the woodworking and bar tricks!

when you get suggested videos there are 3 dots apearing when you move the mouse over them. click the dots and some options will show. click not interested, it will tell you the video was removed and two options, undo and tell us why. click tell us why. check the I don't like the video. submit, at some point it wont show you similar videos, as long you dont click on them

I work with algorithms and that's how cookies and caches work. Devices remember so they can push suggestions. Clear your cookie and caches.

My weirdest youtube rabbit hole happened twice - bug videos. Which eventually led to spiders, snakes and... sand dollars.
U can clear your watch history by going into settings in CZcams
I'm glad it stopped at dog videos; I knew exactly where this was headed as soon as you looked up horse shoes 😂 I watch them bc I find them rly satisfyig. You may have been recommended the mangoworm videos (don't watch them if you're extremely sensitive--it doesn't sound like you will though lol).
You can clear search history on youtube itself or via google--if you think you're going to deep dive again, try opening an incognito window so it doesn't stay in your history.
it is not just your phone, your PC, alexa and any of the voice activated ones are giving you a service, but doing it so they can in turn collect marketing info.
I haven't had that problem with youtube but one time, one time, I looked at cowboy hats for reference and now everywhere I go they try and sell them to me. I don't want one. Gosh.

I got to watch in person how blacksmiths put horse shoes on their hooves and I was terrified that they were hurting them but they were telling me that they weren’t in pain and can’t even feel it. I’m still skeptical that they are hurting horses. 😓
The phone listens and tracks your travel habits
It's nice to have you back, missed you. I find myself drawn to the rabbit hole when I can't sleep. But my creepiest experience with my phone staking me was buying a closet organizer for my daughter. Weeks of adds and suggestions... Let's just say there's some interesting places to hide shit in your closet, with or without an organizer. But my question is did my credit card share information with my phone? I didn't.
Those youtube rabbit holes are great sometimes. It's just fun on occasion! Also, beautiful art.

Well, once upon a time I started with Minecraft videos, and now I am very educated on DID (dissociative identity disorder.) (It went further than that, too.)
It began with a Minecraft playthrough, which led to a Minecraft roleplay, which led to a Minecraft FNAF Roleplay, which led to a Minecraft roleplay about insanity.
This led to videos about insanity, and then mental diseases, then disorders, and eventually a channel run by a DID system. That did also lead me to videos on age regression, and then how children were raised differently in the 1700s, and then children who died in the 1700s of illnesses we can handle fine nowadays.
After that, hauntings involving children, a true-crime video about several bodies found under the floorboard of a house, and then weird things found in houses.
And at the end, I got to a video about someone finding an old comic in the insulation of a house they bought to renovate. I forget the worth of the comic but it was like twice what they bought the house for lol.
(Also WB! Just got the chance to watch your last video and am glad you didn't die.)
I love this. Geez what a trail! I've also seen a lot of true crime/haunting stuff...if I watch it at night I get so spooked I keep turning around looking for a ghost. Or a murderer. XD

My deep dives have gone all over the map, from nightmarish cartoon animations, to spoof edits of emo peter beating up the avengers, and washing machines making music.
I've watched videos like that. I'm assuming you originally looked up the info on Google, who owns CZcams, which was why they snuck into your recommended. Every site you go to ends up in your cookies and the internet uses those to see what you go to or look up to recommend you like-topics. You can clear CZcams search/recommendations. I've gone down youtube holes into weight loss that took me to extreme body modifications. I went from interior design to tiny home living (I'm still stuck here, I never actually want to live in a tiny home because I love things, but I can't stop watching tiny home videos). Somehow I got into soap making videos, I watch them to unwind. It's endless.
For a phone, go to library, go to history and then go to the 3 dots in the corner and you should be able to both clear watch history but you can also pause watch history so I can go on those weird one night binges and not mess with ur recommend

Happens nearly every day to me, Lemi. I don’t even bother to clear my history anymore...I just look at it as adding variety to my feed...things I’d typically never watch. I just have to be careful because sometimes these DIY-ers have me thinking it’s a fine idea to grab a sledgehammer, take out a wall, and build a playground in my hallway behind a secret door... 🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, we've bred sheep so that they don't shed and grow wool really quickly. If they escape into the wild, they will end up dying from it. Wild sheep don't grow nearly as much wool so it usually isn't a problem for them.

If you googled it then that's probably why. Happens to me too.
You can delete individual videos from your watch history. On my ipad I can swipe left or click the (...) three dots menu beside the videos you were just mildly interested in. Might take a day or so to stop the suggestions in your feed, but eventually they go away.
i get lost on the internet all the time honestly ill be watching something about history one moment and the next ill be watching something about how candy is made, oh and i like the artwork i dont want any cuz i can make my own but im just saying it looks really good

7:44 yes there is a way to clear your search history on CZcams! I believe its in the history tab in the Library section, and you just delete the videos you watched. It works everytime for me!

The phone does listen! And anything you search on google gets mingled with your results on youtube but i have literally gone down this same road! XD
You have to mark that you are not interested in that video and it will stop suggesting them.

@@LemiaCrescent I was going to say this too! So on your home page, next the recommended titles, there should be three dots. Click on it and there will be a pop up that's like "add to queue/ add to watch later/ save to playlist" and then three more that will say "not interested/ don't recommend this channel/ report". Clearing your yt history might be better if it's your whole recommended page but idk, hope either one works.

I sometimes get cute exotic animal videos in my recomented, so I watch them. And somehow I always end up in the dark side of animal videos with titles like "male lion kills his cup" or "train hits pidgeon and it explodes"?! And I'm just sitting here thinking "but all I wanted was watching cute birds searching for shelter from rain in cars/houses...why do you want to make me sad CZcams?!"
Yeah!! D: this is why I always delete the animal videos from my history to avoid those kind of videos being recommended to me. I just want to watch wholesome animal clips dang it!
The definitely listen in on you and can see what you text about. It's disgusting.
I let my phone listen to me, then i use add blockers for about a month or two since if they listen to me, I will let them "share" their stuff (- in the user agreement there is no part of using your phone mic nor camera for advertisements, the user agreement is for the user to NOT do stuff above the "casual" uses of an end user of a products)
I also started using vpn when using chrome browser in the past 7 years too, i hate adds, they are noisy and are never for my taste.

Why didn't you just go into your youtube watch history and delete the foot related videos? Then it'll stop showing up as much. It's on the side tab just below library.
Your phone tracks everything you do everything single thing you search for example if you search funny cat videos the next time you're on a social media it will show you videos about funny cat videos
