Portable Art Tablet W/Screen - Simbans Picasso Tab Review

- Today we're taking a look at the Picasso Tab, an Android tablet made by a company called Simbans. The first 23 or so minutes are the review of the tablet itself, the rest of the video is about how the product was shipped (my incident) and their return policies. I talk a bit about who I think would benefit the most by having this item, some things I've noticed, things I like, and things I'm not crazy about...
I think I forgot to mention, or I wasn't clear, that my first tablet arrived damaged, which is why I had a second one sent to me. There was a row of dead pixels. The second tablet was shipped in a similar fashion, but was not damaged. So I kept this second tablet for over a month and tested it to make sure it ran properly. I've had no issues with it, it works just fine. Still, a shame! But there are return policies and warranties that I do cover in this video. I also want to be clear that Amazon is responsible for the shipping of this product, not Simbans. So...THANKS AMAZON. :(
Also unrelated but...anyone know wtf is going on with that table at the end? I can't figure out the proportions for the life of me! Why would anyone make a table with those dimensions? And ...I used CZcams's blur face ....editing thing... ONLY on Kara's face... LOL It blurred the sky, my bag, Kara's face, her butt and her backpack... I don't know why. It looked fine in the previews. I:B THANKS CZcams!

11:35 her face!!!!! I haven’t seen it before
Hm as a total beginner who seriously wants to animate things, this tablet confuses me a bit... The color difference between the tablet and the pc however, made me quite sure this is not a good idea for me. None of the other reviews mentioned that, thank you for the clear review and mentioning that very important problem!
Thank you for the video!
As an absolute beginner and hobbyist this also helped me understand the difference between an art tablet and "just" a tablet.
IM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU BACK LEMI!! I have missed your videos and streams, im so happy now since i have finished school😁
Wo being early is cool and so is getting product advice! Thanks Lemi 💕
Yay! New video! I hope you're doing well, Lemi, this is amazing as always!
For anyone looking for a cheap cintiq alternative that's the same price, the XP Pen artist 12 is really good, and only $200
fjjsktk4kkdk but u need a computer or laptop
I have the xp pen 12 but looking for a budget tablet that I don't need to be hooked to a computer. Everybody saying iPad but looking at other alternatives.
The point is saving yourself from more than 400 dollars in a computer to use it.
Was about to comment on this comment by saying “but that tablet isn’t portable” until I s saw that your all comments are the same thing
Bruh da pictures don’t look that bad
Thankyou for the review something i can show my parents and persuade, "for a beginner" yessssss!!
I have missed you so much hunni ❤❤❤ you are amazing and I love you!!
Thanks for the informative review.
Even though this isn't the one I'm looking for, it's nice to know all the pros and cons of these lower budget tablets. Honestly helps my search on standalone tablets in general and what to look out for.
Lemi!!! EEE! i don't think i've clicked so darn fast on my notifications!
you're not talking to her lmfao
i watched many reviews of this item, out of bordum , yours was by far best, and kinda funny at the cam ranting part, but really good well done
Hey your back! Leavemanguy is happy lol
Yay Lemi! I've missed you!
Thanks for the video! I really appreciate it
Just subbed. Great review on this end please continue 😇
where is that desktop reservoir picture from? It looks like a reservoir near me.
You’re back wow
I have this, I really like it, it's pretty good.
At least to me.
Do you use it for art?
Can you transfer your art to you phone?
@@ariiyy8662 I just save the picture to my drive, then download it as a photo.
@@Scor_cat oh thank you
Can you animate on it?
I totally agree that this is a super beginner tablet. If you've never tried digital media, and don't have huge expectations for tech and how it should be respond, go for it!
This tablet has quite the cheap build for the price, and though it's cheaper than other brands, it's also cheap in every other way. It's similar to the $50 android tablets that you can pick up from Wal-mart.
On the upside, I admire the extra ports, especially the USB-C!
What drawing tablets like don't need pc or laptop and has sensitivity?
Does it have pressure sensitivity?
Poor Lemie you looked so frustrated in the reflection, Shipping can be hit or miss with Amazon. sometimes everything arrives fine other times something is broken
In my home country, when it's broken, mostly because out post is shit and throws packages into their transport cars or against walls, doors or into trash bins to avoid doing their job.
Can you use clip studio paint on it?
Good review but i would of like to know the texture of the screen like was it glass/ matt/ paper-like ect.
That's kinda hard to explain. Paper has a uniquely paper like feel to it, I don't think any tablet I've used I could compare to paper. This does come with a pre installed screen protector on it... I would say it has a satisfying feel to it with the stylus against the screen. It glides easily against the surface, no scrape-y feel... It is reflective (as shown in the video), I'd say it's most similar to glass?
So sorry I can't give a better description! I'm glad you found the review helpful. :>
Great video! I was actually thinking about getting this but now I won't.
Did you do any color checking on the tablet or adjustments? Even my PC to print without color setting is a mess..
I tried. There is very limited adjustments that you can make with the tablets settings. I made it look as similar to my desktop as possible when I noticed that the first tablet I received killed the color. The second tablet I adjusted and it still didn't work out as hoped. Don't get me wrong, it looks great on the tablet itself, on both tablets with both settings. But in both cases they look much worse once transferred. :(
It's odd, it's clearly a bunch of pinks and purples I used to make the thumbnail, but when I sent it over it was all ..browned? And my thumbnail is after adjusting it in photoshop quickly to try to make it look somewhat presentable. The difference was startling, but it's not something I can easily show on camera. Like... I can show the photos from my phone VS the photos from the tablet...but showing what the picture should have looked like/looked like on the tablet as opposed to how it turned out on my desktop is like.. impossible to me. I'd have to use another camera to record that screen and that distorts what I'm trying to show...? Oh it's a mess. XD;
But this is definitely good advice for people to be aware of! I hope more people see your comment. :>
@@LemiaCrescent Thanks for the review. Nice entry level price for a sketchbook I guess :-)
So I wouldn't be able to run clip studio on it?
Is it an all in one?
I bought this tablet and it immediately broke about a week after having it. It would no longer pick up the pen snd sketchbook was crashing every time I opened it.
Beth Warwick’s sorry to hear that I got the tablet and I love it the pen still works and I use artflow and infinite painter they almost never crash on me
@@lukegaming8658 I hope you don't mind me asking, but how long have you had it? Can you return it? I'm thinking about buying one of these.
@@solarislawson4152This is my first jump into digital art. So I can't compare it to the more expensive devices, but I've had mine for little over a year now. Still working fine, does lag every once in a while.
I use Medibang and works nice. There is a 1yr warranty if anything was to happen. I would also recommend buying rechargable AAAA batteries for it if you do decide on getting one.
@@solarislawson4152 It says free returns on Amazon.
@@-someone-4274 thanks love
you can use the mini hdmi to hook up to a monitor.
I tried doing that but it didnt work :/
I prefer drawing on a tablet but I'm looking for a cheap alternative since I don't have a good computer
Moonstar Studios the iPad 7th gen is good
@@kimmyt3731 I actually just bought that one recently
@@Crazybirbhooman you Bought an iPad? I'm also looking
mkorpal1 I got an iPad 7 it was only 250$ on Amazon and it works great
@@Crazybirbhooman an ipad is the best alternative but you also have to pay an extra $100 for the pen sadly.
Amazing Video 💙 You
Can you add other apps on this tablet? Outside of the built in ones I mean
Ya i think so
How do get the battery
So, it's kind of like a normal tablet. It doesn't seem like a thing a professional digital artist might use, but do you think it would be good for non-professionals/hobbyists? Im wanting to start digital art so Im trying to see what might be a good option, and this seems good. Its not outrageously expensive, its portable, it has a screen, which are all things I would like. The girl in the video says its good for beginers but I think it would be nice to get multiple. Im going to do more research, if someone here has it can you please tell me your opinions on it?
yes. definitely
lemiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Mama Lemi! I’m soo glad you’re back✨✨ (づ ◕‿◕ )づ💖
I miss youuuu
Do u need a computer or phone for it
could i use this tablet on my pc im new to getting a digital tablet for art
You can use it without a pc... but it's slow and trash.
Edit: for little children tbh
I want a tablet thats android that comes with a pen for a reasonable price mainly because im too attached to ibis paint x. I have the huion 720 but suck at drawing with something with no screen and have no idea how to colour. If anybody could tell me one that is similar to this one or a link i would make me very happy.
Samsung Galaxy tab A (with S Pen). If the box doesn't say "with S Pen," you will only get the tablet because last time I checked, Amazon sales both versions. I've heard some pretty good reviews. I would but one, but if memory serves me right, the pen was too small for my taste, and I*think* there tablet is smaller than the tablet in this video. I hope this helps
@@solarislawson4152 ty
@@solarislawson4152 Just wanted to mention in case this is helpful, you can replace the Tab A's pen with either of the S Pens from the Galaxy Tab S3 or S4 or the Staedtler Noris Digital Pencil. All three of those are interchangeable with the Tab A's pen, and they're each bigger and more comfortable to hold. (You'd still have to get the Tab A with its own pen because the version without isn't compatible.)
@@WickerOSeer thank you
You should get a sonar pen. It has palm rejection and pressure sensitivity, you plug it into the headphone jack so any device with one works. It's 30 dollars abd I highly recommend it
lol my pen also has a 4A battery. they're becoming easier to find, but it's still a pain in the butt.
I agree with that table. What the heck?
RIGHT!?
Does anyone know how to connect the tablet to my computer
It's a Android tablet. So you cant
Can you animate on it?
Has anyone ever told you, you sounds exactly like Tea Gardner from Yu-Gi-Oh
LOL no.
Yugiiiiiii~! I:B Power of friendship!
Can you download CZcams on this tablet? If so, I'd post my art vids on this if I get it! I really want it so I'm excited to force my mom to let me get it ;w; *yes I know I'm late*
Yes you can download CZcams!
@@daisyzboringlife1218 do u need a computer or a laptop for this?
@@fuonggggg671 you do not! My mom researched and this one doesn’t need a computer! It has PLENTY of apps. Tons of animation and drawing ones, and tjen, normal apps!
there is a difference than between an ordinary tablet this has pen pressure
What do you mean?
IbisPaint X
Never heard someone pronounce Wacom as Way-com.
Here
Can you animate on this
Do you need a PC I dont have one
No
can you animate on here
If picassotab is not a drawing tablet then ipad is not a drawing tablet too
Had to watch in 1.5x speed because the talking is so slow. Other than that its a good video..
Bruh da pictures don’t look that bad
I feel like Android is better for my circumstances
its not a phone and its couple hundred quid who cares about the camera
I ca-n see your face
she has a booger on her left hand
Video is simply too long - sorry its a bummer. Id rather hear about the tablet than just listening to you talk sorry. had to keep skipping forward and just wasnt getting there with you. and you get loud and soft :*
God please, you have to cut half of the talk and stop repeating yourself.
Merry Christmas anyway ;)
This is not good enough for me. 🧐🍷
It's really a piece of junk... better off buying an older ipad pro and just using that... you can get a used one for really cheap now and it works 1000x better than this toy.
Eh, it's a low end tablet, nothing too insane going on here. I think the price is consistent with other tablets of similar specs, or at least that is what my Mac Genius friend said. I:B
Have you even tried it I have one myself and I’ve used Wacom tablets of course it’s better but there no reason to call it a piece of junk
@@lukegaming8658 I have.. and it is... sorry to say.
