  • If you want to bring your Fliteboard to the next level this is the upgrade you want to have. Your board will feel much looser and responsive… you will also gain more range and time in the water… the “glide” feels good but I still have to test its full potential in the waves. That will be next...Please leave you comments below. Cheers

      Yes Sergio...I try the Ultra but I think is too small for me...if I was at the beach all the time and surfing...it would deff be a good board... but I ride more on the flats....once you get your true glide becarefull not to damage it it ok? Ill make a video about it soon.

      @@Coach_Rolando Good stuff; I am pretty new on eFoil and had my Flite Pro just recently. 5 Outings and 70 km in total... nothing compared to your track record. I tested the ULTRA with the free glide and the 1100 flow: wow it's really amazing and nervous. As you said, the free glide propels gain dramatically in speed and responsiveness. The size of ULTRA, for my experience and body size is still uncomfortable.

    I gotta admit, I saw "True Glide Prop" and I thought, "That's for waves. There's not much for waves in Boston Harbor--that's sort of the point of the 'harbor'."

    • @Coach_Rolando
      @Coach_Rolando  Před rokem +1

      Yes … there is not much waves but I got to do “dowinding” and for that is deff helpful to have the true glide… at the boston harbor there are days that you can do dowinding.., I have a video here about that as well that I did in Florida… cool stuff

      Glad to know this was helpful...dont get frustrated as you try it all out...it will fell like your are learning all over again lol...Also Ill be making a video soon about the cons with the prop...it broke on me...(not the blades but the metal inside and it did not spin to give trust forward)...nothing serious but luckily it happen right as I put in the water...but one thing I learned is this...I only use the "surf prop" if im going surfing and close to the beach...If I make long off shore runs I use the original one.....(If the prop had broken when I was off she and and far away I would be fucked) ..So I suggest you to only use the prop if you are going surfing cause you are close to the shore line..but if you are going for long rides away from the shore I would not use that prop. I hope this helps

      Welcome...Ill be making an update once it gets warmer..One thing very important is that I would use the "True Glide" prop only when surfing...Mine after a few weeks had a problem...For some reason the "clutch" inside stoped working so the Axel was speeding freely...so I had no forward trust...I contacted Fliteboard and we were all surprised with the issue...We could not figure it out why it happen...So they had not problems and send me another prop...It never happened again...However even if only happens once in a while I still would not want to have that failure if I was way out in the ocean...(luckily for me it happen right once I put the board in the water...so I was close to the shore)... But I go like 6 to 8 miles out sometimes to small islands...and it would not be nice if happen then. So now I only use the "True Glide" if im close to shore surfing...Maybe it was just my prop that had that problem and no one else...but as I said...I rather not take the chances in long runs. I hope you are enjoying your fliteboard

      @@Coach_Rolando Do they have an aluminum prop with stainless bearings and pin? That would cause electrolysis in salt water, which could destroy the mechanism. Instead of spraying with WD40 you could try CorrosionX. I've had good luck with that, but not on this mechanism.

    Great video as all of your videos are! Is the prop the same prop as the original - just with free wheeling? If yes, then did the more responsiveness come from getting rid of the guard? Do you find riding a normal prop without a guard just as responsive. Lastly your shim video was very helpful! Moved down one number and much faster and fun. I will soon go down to zero and then negative.

    • @Coach_Rolando
      @Coach_Rolando  Před 2 lety

      Hello Rick...thank you for watching and the comments...let me try to answer it all in order.
      1 - A- Yes...basically the original prop is the same as the true glide prop...same size...the only thing is as you mention...the true glide speeds freely rather then lock once you let the trigger go.
      2 - Yes...you will get much more "response and looseness" as you take out the prop guard...regardless what prop you are using...however make sure you will get the "Pro Tail Cover" to replace and cover the gap you will have once you take the guard off...You could ride with it but it will create a little of turbulence.
      3 - The negative shims does not need to be too "aggressive"...meaning... only in 0.25 increments ...so 0....-0.25....-0.50....-0.75....-1...-1.25...there is no need to have a 1, 2, 3 like is from the positive shims...Mince I think was about -050...witch was just enough down force...I hope fliteboarod will make them...but I have a friend who is working on them on his 3d printer now.
      I hope this was helpful...if you have more questions just let me know and have fun in the water...are you around MA??? Cheers and enjoy your summer.

    Cool demo. Did you say the tool set came with it for free in the $250 prop kit, or was it sold separately?

    • @Coach_Rolando
      @Coach_Rolando  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you have to buy the Pro Tail Cover (to replace the guard) and the True glide propeller to have the "free spin"...And yes again, they send you all the tools you will need and extras washes, nots and pins...Is really trouble free...I was concerned about having to go around the house or have to buy tools but is nit the case...you get it all and is super simple to change it...I just had a stupid moment as you can see in the video. Now if you are not using your board in waves you can completely change the way you ride by removing the guard and buying only the Pro Tail cover and you will still have lost of fun and increase your performance...however if your intention is to ride wave as well them you got to get the True glide propeller...I hope this helps bud

    Great video, got my pro mode cover on in 5mins thanks to this. One thing I learned was the propeller nut is single use, they recommend you use a new one, but the pro mode cover doesn’t come with the nut. So you need to order the kit or trueglide kit

    • @Coach_Rolando
      @Coach_Rolando  Před 2 lety +1

      Im lost...Yes...they come with several new nuts...I did not know they were single use... The pro cover is a "nut" itself...you just have ti twist like you do with the "guard " and stays in place...Im not sure exactly what you are saying but "So you need to order the kit or trueglide kit"... The trueglide kit came with everything I need to make the change and spare nuts.

    • @Coach_Rolando
      @Coach_Rolando  Před rokem +1

      I only put it one when Im going surfing...if I'm on flat water I use the normal prop...besides is more expensive to replace too...and no...I use the same nut over and over and never had a problem...but I was speaking to the people at Fliteboarod... You should not leave the prop loose in your board if you are traveling with the board on the top of your car...so if you put your board in the top of your car the wind will speed the propeller really fast at 60 or 70 mph as your are driving causing the bearings to overheat and fall off....so when I do that I put a tape to secure the propeller to make sure it will not speen....now if you put your board inside your car you have nothing to worry about...Ill make a video soon about that.
