that "wood box" is actually an insterment, it has electronics in it that are projected out from a pa speaker, thus he is not actually hitting it that hard at all.
I don't think that he's playing on dropped tuning here - he's using some "traditional" chords (C durr etc). Of course I may be wrong. :P Anyway: 5 stars for the drummer. :3

actually, shaun plays in standard flat tuning. their usual tuning is drop d flat for electric.
