At least, not for an extended period of time. You've got to want to play. Here's a tip: if you've got an acoustic, tune it down a half step. Meaning instead of A/440, tune it to A flat. It may help with your singing. Secondly, get a capo. A capo on the first fret will bring you back to A/440. A capo also aids in songwriting because once you begin to experiment with one, you'll discover different timbres throughout the neck. Once, you do that, you'll start coming up with your own melodies and just like this dude, you'll put together some great songs also. You can do it. Just don't give up.

One Cold night DVD is amazing and gave me a whole new respect for the band. What is Shaun doing playing by himself in Edmonton for what seems like a pretty small crowd? Music is not a competition or a sport. That's why I refuse to watch any of those singing competition shows on tv. What good is being the best singer if you can't write a great song? If this dude or Aaron Lewis went on one of those singing competition shows, they more than likely lose. I'm not kidding.
