Music video by Seether performing The Gift. (c) 2006 Wind-up Records, LLC - Hudba
This acoustic version shows how talented Shaun and Seether really are. Who’s still listening in 2023?
Always man fucking love Shaun
meeeee ! im in love ♡ october 2020
Me
My wife walked out on me and the kids a year ago. This man helps keep the pain away. So beautifully honest in a world of deceipt. You have to experience pain to sing about it. This guy, Kurt Cobain And Aaron Lewis are the 3 best male vocalists ever in my opinion. All 3 of them had a tough life. All 3 of then wore their heart in their sleeves. And all 3 of them sing the most amazing accoustic sets of all time. Thanks Shaun youve really kept me going through a very tough period in my life.
Right here!
Who's listening in 2024?
Always
todos os dias
Me
I'm 63 years old and just recently discovered Seether...reminds me why I loved Candelbox when I was younger. My favorite new band, better late than never!
Hell yeah man. Seether's awesome
Seether is my life!since 2006
I’m 58 I won VIP tickets 3 years ago, one of my favorites now!
I liked your comment. Candlebox sucks
love candlebox
still here in 2024 💙💙
Here 🤘😁✋️
Every fucking wasted year !
Yes 💯 🤟🫶🔥
Is it just me or is Seether one of the only bands that sounds even better live. Shaun Morgan is an amazing singer, Every time I hear this song I can almost feel his emotions and pain. Truly one of the better rock bands of today.
+Ken Portice Songs born out of personal experiance always resinate like that.
+Ken Portice Seether sounds awesome live!! Shaun always puts his emotions into song. Love them!!
+Ken Portice depends, last time I saw seether, they seemed like they were going through the motions. This was during their european tour, so I'm guessing they were touring for quite a while before they reached europe.
+Ken Portice I agree man...like I have been waiting 4 this band my whole life!!!
he's a musician, not a pop star
I'm glad that this song is no longer the soundtrack to my life. When I was down at rock bottom and barely able to look at myself in the mirror this song reflected the turmoil in my soul. It made me listen to my silent screams and face the pain of being human. Now that my life is on track I can listen to it and smile instead of cry. I can be proud for what I overcame as opposed to being ashamed of that thing.
Lucky for you.
It's amazing how songs can pull u through the toughest times we go through in LIFE. But to face ur DEMONS head on and defeat ur battle with them is a great accomplishments...💯💯👍✌✌
I truly understand what you're saying!!!
Wow , what a great song,I felt every word.
Man i know. Im recently back. Too old for this now. Hope you are still doing well man.
Those guys are so underrated...
My 82 year old dad and I watched this performance together several times before his passing in 08. Him being a guitar player himself he saw the talent these guys have. Every time I think of Seether I have fond memories of my dad and I making memories watching it. One Cold Night is one of the all time greatest live performances and anyone who hasn’t bothered to listen are missing out on a masterpiece.
I don’t know you man but may god rest your father soul in heaven
Rooney Noor Thanks Sir the comment means a lot.
Night before last, I looked at my fiancée while feeling the most unexplainable heavy pressure over me that I've ever experienced in 38 years.... Immediately followed was overwhelming emptiness. I awoke to the reality of my Dad's passing. Closure couldn't ever be any further away....
HillsOfAppalachia If your close to your parents I don’t think one ever really comes to terms with their passing. I’m just thankful that I knew them and they were good parents because a lot of people in this world doesn’t even have that this day and age. Good memories and bands like Seether help me cope. I’ll be thinking about you. PS: My grandmother was from the town of Appalachia, Va.
@@stevewalters6853 I have always been connected with my dad. Unfortunately he never made the appropriate decisions or choices towards my upbringing. All I wanted was acceptance. He was stubborn. Our last conversation 19 months ago wasn't anything of the sort in resemblance of closure. Even though, some how... I felt it when our spiritual connection untethered.
One of the most talented and underrated bands ever
I feel like this is a plea to Jesus...I have loved this band forever but listening to this now with a different perspective...the ultimate gift is salvation! We all need it (look at the world right now!) and the lyrics are aligned to this. Search your soul and you will find that he is within you and you are destined to be his! No one is too far gone and he is there for us! Amen...great song and band!
when the live is better the studio version :')
Guilherme Penteado Talk about driven! This amazing soul pours his entire existence into writing and singing. And with true motivation. Beyond words, and transcending feelings on another level. Beyond amazing, and awesome in the truest sense of that overused word. If you don't already know his story and what drives him then get to it! #Motivation
20 years later and still underrated.
Seether, nirvana,Alice in chains… from an era when acoustic was also known as unplugged. Great tune great voice. Seether is under appreciated. Still writing great stuff today
About to be 2020 and I’m still loving this song as if it came out yesterday.
Kelley Flint .... Shaun. .... Seether never lose the magic of hearing their music... it is timeless and it will never grow old .....I so agree with you!!!!!
😍
Billy Fish 🐠 😍
Word
2020 is like hold my beer it's about to get shittier lol
The acoustic version always makes my eyes water! They just have an amazing ability to tap into peoples emotions...
You aint lying dude. Very strong and emotional song
Robert Slane shaun make this touch deep down in my heart
THEY KNOW HOW TO NAIL TRUE EMPATHY...GOD HOW I LOVE THIS AMAZING GROUP!
Yesss! Lovin' the accoustic!!!!! OooooH BaBy!!!!
Very much so...
"I can't face myself when i wake up and look inside a mirror, I'm so ashamed of that thing"
Timeless songwriting
I think of the old man when I hear this song. He was the one who first heard of Seether and made sure his kids heard it too. We played this for his funeral service, seemed like a fitting tribute for me and little sister. Ever since then, it's been a great memory starter. Miss ya Garry, here's to life... again
I don’t know how anyone cannot feel this. You would have to have zero passion. Listening for 10 years now!
can feel you bro
The fact that Shaun and the lead guitarist were able to land that last note perfectly without acknowledging the drummer was perfection. These guys were in the zone.
They was definitely hitting on all cylinders lol
Hard to believe it’s 2022 and this video has just 6.9 million views.. Seether is one of the very few who sound even better when performing live, and yet, it seems many still know nothing about them- crazy!!
I don't know why he has a bit of views. Since this band, well for my is the best.
I'll never understand how he's strong enough not to collapse into tears every time he sings this. It's harrowing and it breaks me every time I listen to it.
He does during this one, just a tear, but yeah:

somehow, this is better than the studio version. very emotional!
Still comin back in 2023,THIS is my favorite song by seether, though there are many faves from them...i've seen them twice at ROCKLAHOMA! last year, evanescence played before them, amy lee played call me when your sober, and was just a witch, awesome move on having seether play right after them,it was like their 20 years ago break up playing out in front of the 75,000 people,Shaun Morgan came out swinging and absolutely demolished her,it was hilarious...she's got a beautiful voice, and she's gorgeous, but she's also very ugly as a human being, she's got a habit of kicking people when they're down! thank you Seether for making that the highlight of Rocklahoma for me! i was sad to see you wouldn't be there this year :(
This song got me thru the worst time in my life, so glad I'm still here
Still here
this song reminds me of the gift God gave me. My son! And how I've done stupid things I'm not proud of.
❤️
+brii tanih
con la deyenirah
Treasure that gift everyday and make sure above all else you give him the tools to deal with this complicated world we live in! 💓
This song has brought me up, brought me down, and everywhere in between. Thank you seether for writing a song I feel was just for me and how I feel daily. You've helped through my darkest of times and my greatest
A song with powerful meaning wrapped up nicely ! No pun intended.
It's also a song that describes my life too. It was actually my number 1 song on Spotify last year that I listened to aha.
Hope you're doing alright, dude.
Man so true no truer words spoken my friend.

Gotta check this out :) !!!
"The Gift"
Hold me now I need to feel relief
Like I never wanted anything
I suppose I'll let this go and find a reason I'll hold on to
I'm so ashamed of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to get by
I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all
I can't face myself when I wake up
And look inside a mirror
I'm so ashamed of that thing
I suppose I'll let it go
Until I have something more to say for me
I'm so afraid of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to defy
I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all
Hold me now I need to feel complete
Like I matter to the one I need
'Cause I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all
Now I'm ashamed of this
I am so ashamed of this
Now I'm so ashamed of me
I am so ashamed of me...
Yea
Impressive lyric
❤
Respect for him in the last chorus raising his voice "I'm so afraid". You can see him struggling there but he nailed it
You will know what he's really talking about if you lived it.. He speaks to your heart
You are do right sweetie
So true
You’re not wrong...
I'm not sure what he's talking about, but I " feel" this song. I got involved with someone that I wish I wouldn't have. BIG mistake, regrets, horribly.
Courtney Dovidio , yes, I know what he's talking about.
How can anyone in this hurtful world we live in dislike this song? Very disrespectful alot of hard work and talent was put into this. I could only dream of having a voice like this man. And to play guitar and sing and be good at it. Haters will always hate no matter what.
Brandon v it's ok bro..lot of hate in this world, don't let it bring you or your taste in good music down :)
Brandon v splendid forever
Brandon :its ok bro
only way I might, key word being might...hit dislike is if I was deaf
Because People=Shit.
They ruin it for everybody.
Some of us feel things -all things or ANY things - so intensely that it's either orgasmic or soul crushing. You will be too much for some people. Those are not your people. On the flip side - WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY PEOPLE???!
This has been but a sample of pure Aries stream of consciousness rambling. You're welcome 😇🤯😈
“Right on the wrong side of it all”. 😢😢😢💕💕💕
My God. I feel like I’ve watched this a million times and it never gets old. Shaun is amazing!
My son played this band for me. I am 64 and love it 😀
2019? anyone, greetings from the Netherlands we love Seether
Greetings from Turkey dude
Uk here :)
2020 bro
This is beautiful ❤️🙏❤️
Yes it is, and sad at the same time. Shit makes me cry almost every time
Am I the only one who is like WHO HURT YOU SHAUN Every single time I listen to him sing?
Yes you are a woman right!??
I agree!!!!!
Amy lee..
Growing up in modern tumultuous South Africa puts life in a serious perspective. Obviously, Shaun writes usually about personal experiences but Seether always writes and plays with such passion and conviction to the music. The band has worked hard for many years and I am happy to see the band finally getting success overcoming the finances and struggles in the music world.
@@johnkeller9738 I agree !!!
This song is so powerful, everyone experiences self doubt..this is what this song means to me.
Shaun sounds identical to his albums it's phenomenal i thought avenged sevenfold and papa roach were best live but they dont compare to this man!! Rock on Seether!!!!
Papa roach is trash live 😂😂
Right haha
Seether was the band b4 Audioslave. Talent X talent.
I just recently discovered this song today. I heard it across the shop at my job today. Somebody was playing it and I had to drop everything i was doing and walk over and listen. This song absolutely touches the deepest parts of my heart and soul.
One of the most amazing Post-grunge bands I've ever heard. Shaun expresse all his pain through his songs. It's sad that Seether is so underrated
The last minute of this song is what feelings sound like
Seether. Is. One. Of. Those bands. Now. That. Make. U. Feel. And. Deliver .. what. Pearl jam has. Done. For. Us all
What a true honest look at not trying to destroy what ones gift is
This song shows the struggles of addiction perfectly. One of my favorites from Seether🙏
I don't know why these guys don't have the recognition they deserve! This album is simply inspiring. What a voice, what feeling!
2nd corinthians 9:15 and I hear this beautiful reminder that this pressure is worthy of God's blessings.
Man..this dude invented unplugged...or plugged!!! I heard his 1st album in 1999...and was hooked...guy can sing country...rock. ..you name it...Needles is my favorite!!!!
AIC did
+william enright I'm glad you love AIC. but comparing them to Seether is a moot point. two different bands, two different styles.
Needles is a killer track for sure, they have so many great songs, it's hard to choose... The Gift, Walk Away from the Sun, Breakdown, weak, Fade out and Nobody Praying for Me are all up there.
Alice in Chains (Mad Season) were fuckin amazing as well.
I'm guessing he was referring to the "This guy invented unplugged" comment (but I'm reasonably sure it wasn't AIC either)
Kurt and Layne are the true unplugged O.Gs . Without Kurt we wouldn't have the likes of Benjamin Burnley or Shaun Morgan who were both inspired to sing and play after hearing the nevermind album by Nirvana
I CANT GET ENOUGH OF SEETHER DOING LIVE SONGS. i went to their concert and guys they are even more amazing when you're there.
I didn't just discover Seether. Despite being a habitual shoplifter as a teenager, I still went and actually paid for every album they ever came out with. I always knew they'd hit big despite my friends saying they weren't "heavy" enough. This brings back so many good memories of a time I'll never have back.
Yes Seether is in tune bra .only real only ...
The gift you've given everyone
Is a beautiful song
When he said "hold me now i need to feel relieve"... i felt that shit
sometimes we need a sad song to get our minds back on track. all my life ive been cut off emotionally.my dad died after we had a bad argument and i never got to tell him im sorry dad.we all love you and i didn't mean what i said.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Matt Durocher I love you.
Surely you are forgiven takes a lot for someone to say something like that God bless you
Matt Durocher
💜 Same with my dad.
I actually said "F*** you old man I hope you die!", as I slammed the door.
I lived that moment over again too many times...
Cried by his bedside every day next few weeks. Kept saying I'm so sorry, I don't hate you, I love you!!!!.....
He squeezed my hand.
...... He never knew me again in that body, in this world. He knew I loved him before I did.
That was 30 years ago. Raised 2 beautiful, amazing kids.
I don't know shit about anything except my life forever changed as a parent, I AM the man I thought I hated & I live for them!
Mistakes made in life are not regrettable if you learned something from them. I'll gladly hold the pain for my kids to never have to feel that way.
Crazy we are most vicious to the ones who hold our hearts with the most love.
Peace Matt
Matt Durocher,Thank you for sharing, as you aren't alone. I had to go oversea's for a little bit as my dad was nearing the end of his life at the time. Thought for sure he'd still be there when I got back or I wouldn't have went. Last words were i'll miss you son. I didn't think too much about it as I'd been oversea's a few times in the past and it wasn't anything him and I hadn't gone through before. Looking back, he meant I'll miss you as I won't be here when you get back. Fucks me up that he knew i loved serving so much, that he put that before his own needs. some selfless shit, I miss that guy.
Underrated singer and band , glad I got to hear this band in my life ❤️
I am addicted to this song. It just gets into my soul. Listened to this song so many times.
Real musicians still exists!! Seether makes my heart 😢 cry .
My elder brother introduced me to Seether on 2005 and I would listen to karma and effect album and sing along with the lyrics which was provided with the cassette. I remember him saying I was a bigger Seether fan than him. My brother passed away on 2006, but I still listen occasionally to all the songs and bands he used to like. I'm glad for the gift he gave me which was the memories and the songs he used to listen to. If anyone reads this, it's a wonderful life. Enjoy! ☺
Always and forever will be listening 🎧 brother this song has so much meaning for "M E"
U KNOW HOW TOO SING FROM UR HEART AND SOUL AND EXPERIENCES
Hold me now I need to feel relief
Like I never wanted anything
I suppose I'll let this go and find a reason I'll hold on to
I'm so ashamed of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to get by
I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all
I can't face myself when I wake up
And look inside a mirror
I'm so ashamed of that thing
I suppose I'll let it go
Untill I have something more to say for me
I'm so afraid of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to defy
I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living

Hold me now I need to feel complete
Like I matter to the one I need
I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living

Now I'm ashamed of this
I am so ashamed of this
Now I'm so ashamed of this
I am so ashamed of me...
Love this
Thanks man
I miss u !!!!!!! Jazna
Thank you so much for the lyrics.
I haven't words! His voice.. Their songs, texts, feelings.. It's amazing, fantastic! I think, that Seether is one of the best band, which exists :) For me, you are the best band in my life! :)
Yes.they are
Seether and AIC...best 2 bands ever!!!
not just a terrific seether song, but one of the best rock songs written this century. Hits you like a brick.
Thus sounds like my spiritual awakening. 😮😢
My Sweet Sweet Jenny was Killed on her Motorcycle August 2, 2017...this song cuts deep into me....breaks me down every damn time...R.I.P Jen Jen.....you are my sunshine
Still gives me shivers to this day
One Cold Night is a masterpiece, from start to finish.
Thank you for the opportunity to hear this song have a wonderful show
If you haven't heard this whole concert you are severely missing out. It is available on dvd and can also be found here on CZcams. One Cold Night. One of the finest moments in rock history. An absolutely stunning series of great songs beautifully executed in a very profound way. Including a great cover of a Pearl Jam song called Immortality that actually sounds better than the legendary original in my humble opinion
Hey Doug M could not agree with you more often say that about immortality one cold night incredible sympathetic good tune too
Thank god for seether helping me through my depression and suicide a couple years back still suffering from depression but I’m engaged and trying to have a family now so.
I bought this CD when I came home to Jersey after doing a prison bid in Florida and it got me through quite a few tough times and the songs especially this one all true to this day
I got to see seether may 13 2022 in Simpsonville SC!! Dream come true. This band is outstanding live!!! They were an opening for Breaking Benjamin!!! It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!! My dad died this year and these 2 bands have literally saved my life. #seether&BBforever 🎶🖤🖤🖤
Still my favorite Seether song
Not gonna lie, this is one of the best songs I've ever heard. Masterpiece
Holy fuck this is actually him singing this. One of the best live performances I HAVE EVER HEARD.
Literally fell apart listening to this powerful song who can relate?
Fixing to see Seether for the 1st time ever in over 10 years of liking them!! Can't fucking wait! And it's a free show!!

Look up erra Skyline that song touches me emotionally in the feels
Don't say how talented Shawn and seether are they are a band with brotherly love and all talented m f r s
Thank you Lord for what I had. Stage 4, terminal. Sad
What do you mean? Do you mean beat the illness?
You are a awesome soul. I guess you know 💯 what the gift is in this song. Please tell me, I have to have specifics
Every time I hear this song I cry. Can't get more real...
Best live album EVER 🖤
these guys never got credit they deserved
Who’s listening to this masterpiece in 2021?
SOMETIMES I EAT AWAY AT MYSELF/INNER DISTRUCTION.. AND THEN AT TIMES COME BACK JUST TO FEEL AGAIN...BACK FOR MORE....THIS SONG LETS ME KNOW IM NOT ALONE.... THANK YOU....
Incredible. He hears Nirvana's Nevermind album at the age of 14, teaches himself to play guitar and was an accomplished song writer and guitarist by 2000. Shaun, in my opinion, is every bit as good as his hero, Kurt. I think about what I did with my life in the same amount of time it took him to live his dream...............and I see clearly how much of a lazy loser I really am. Shaun, you're amazing! Thanks for picking up where Nirvana left off.
Am I the only one who thinks this is much way better than the original version ?
This song is one of the most beautiful songs there is... I love seether they speak from the heart every single beat every single word
Words can't explain... I just keep coming back...
One of the BEST concerts I've been to and I've been to hella lot of concerts in my day!!!!!
That must've been awesome. I've always wanted to have a time machine for this
Shaun / Seether You Rock. You Mates are awesome---- you breaking all the rules ....
Gd, I dont even know what he is singing about but it brings a tear, very powerful music
