Now you have some smoke to go along with your fire from last video's tutorial. I tried to make this as short and easy to follow as possible. You can really customize this to look how you want and make some really cool smoke animations. If you want to learn more After Effects, leave a comment below about what topics to tackle next!

exactly what i need. no chit chat no bulshit straight to the point thank you
yaaa
Truth!!!
reading a video is bullsh*t.
uninspired/monotonous music? bullsh*t.
totally forced clip of Mrs. Doubtfire vaccuming? not long enough.
oh wait, scratch that. what i meant to write was (and with all due respect to Mr. Williams and kin)... bullsh*t.
reminding me that i can _like_ something? bullsh*t mixed with vomit.
it's human vomit though... sorry 'bout that.
the bull is gonna need another bucket anyway.
Very useful and well-made video. Thank you for that!
Subscribed.
I wish more tutorials could be like this. Straight to the point, but easily modifiable to other needs. Thank you.
I really appreciate that this is simple and to the point, so many other tutorials go way too into depth which is fine for beginners, but I find this is a better way to learn and play with the tools.
Really love the simplicity of this video. Step by step instructions that make sense to a semi-experienced AE user. Can pause, do the step, and continue. Definitely didn't need to sit through a 45 minute tutorial on this. So thank you!!!!!!!
Thank you for watching! I'm trying to do short tutorials for all of these types of things so if you have any ideas let me know!

I'll tell you what, It's an interesting challenge to try and strip down tutorials to just the basic steps. But I feel you!
Useful, thank you. To add to this, I'll try precomping the rectangle and then animating the rectangle inside the precomp to see, if I can get puffs of smoke
This is one of the easiest to follow and concise tutorials I've ever watched. THANKYOU.

Eres un crack, saludos desde la ciudad de México
Loved this tutorial! As an AE beginner though, some parts went so fast I couldn't see where you were getting some selections. But nothing a little pause and rewind couldnt fix. Thx!!!
Glad you found it helpful! Yeah in trying to keep these few tutorials as short and too the point as possible it does kind of go by a little too quick at times.

Hey I would love to see video on 5-10 most important and life saving effects (or whatever they may be called) like this one. Just knowing what to search for would be of a great value. (As an idea, you could do all those 5-10 and link them with that video)
I was looking for Adobe Animate motion graphics effects like this one to begin with. YT recommended me this one. I would watch those by you also. Great work keep it up :D
Great suggestion!
THANKS DEAR
yeah you bet!
thx Sooooo muchhh
no problem!
Wow! this is great. is there a way to fix the point from which the smoke is coming out?
I love that "dissolve" style with the cigarette. How do you achieve this?
Well it's actually really simple. It's just using gradient fills and setting the blending mode to dissolve.
Thankso..👌🤘👄
this is super awesome! thank you !! super efficient and getting to the point ! with One quick question please: at step 8: adjust rectangle path, which "tool" do i need to select? cuz i can only adjust the size of rectangle for both sides, don't know how to do it to make one side pointy, thanks !
Okay, so I've answered this question several times in the comments already. But I'll answer it again because I care about you. But you'll notice that in my video, I didn't use the rectangle tool to create the rectangle. I used the pen tool and drew it out point by point. Then under the pen tool is the convert vertex tool which and be used to distort those points.
IF you created your rectangle with the rectangle tool, you don't have these points on the corners (called vertexs) which means the convert vertex tool will not work.
HOWEVER, alls good. If you go to the rectangle layer > contents> Rectangle> Shape Path, right click on that and conver to bezier, than you will be able to use the convert vertex tool to your hearts delight.
Hope this helped!
@@TheKeyframeAcademy wow! got it thanks! it worked like a charm! i missed the part to click and "hold" long enough to show other options under pen tool. thanks a looot !!
thanks, now i follow you sir....
Thank you for the support! New videos coming soon!
