This man has taught me so much more than school did
I saw the movie. They went extinct because they didn't wear shirts and they yelled alot...
And Athenian general Iphicrates developed tactics that would defeat Spartan heavy troops with light troops.
At 21:26 why is Darius (persian) shown with a Geto-Dacian helmet (which are the ancestors of modern Romania)
Darius Is from noxus not persia
@@matejlibal-lc7wd League of legends humor 🤣

It wasn't 300, tho 😂. I think it was more like a few thousand. Nonetheless still amazing
It was only 300 Spartans. There were a few thousand other Greek soldiers, mostly from Athens I think, with them. And the Spartans did most of the heavy fighting. The other soldiers were used for diversions or flanking attacks and other stuff. But not as the main fighting body.
They were still important. The 300 Spartans by themselves never could have held the Persians there. They'd of been ended way to quickly. But they were the main fighters.
300 Spartans 700 from other places
Im from greece. There were 300 Spartans led by Leonidas and 700 Thespians. Thats all
He said 300 spartans lead some Athenians and greeks. He didn say it was ONLY 300
Good Warriors, terrible tactician’s. Run straight ahead and fight will only win ya so many battles
The Spartans put the word immortals to the test.

They must have ran out of chicken.....
Basically Alexander the Great.
Here's a thought for the continual decline in the Spartan population other than the obvious losses to battle.
Men who are 'used to the company of men', likely had more issue with women, than this video drew attention to...
'Ahh, go gay' likely conditioned them to precisely that, so while good for camaraderie, performing with women, would likely have been an unspoken of problem in Spartan society 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
It wasn’t that they weren’t having kids, it’s that they wouldn’t let poor kids who were Spartan citizens to join their army.
the word "Spartan" reminds me of a certain Junior High.. hmm
Or the Michigan Spartans lol
Yeah, about 10%, beat out only by the legions of "wildcats" and "Bulldogs"
The Spartans were not all that they’re cracked up to be. They got some great press from the rear guard at Thermopylae. The crazy stories mostly come from the Roman’s who basically wanted to boost tourism once they conquered Greece.
where do you got this information from?
"This is sparta " most iconic line by king Leonidas
If iiiiii was a soldier I would’ve stayed TF home
Lol when you're a Soldier you don't have much choice you go where your government tells you to.
That kind of attitude simply would not have been accepted in Spartan society...
Be grateful you were not alive 3000 years ago 🤭🤭🤭🤭
Ive always found Spartans to be a bit overrated Athens has way more going for it.

Spartan empire?
Yeah, I didn't get that either!
Well Ancient Greece wasn't a country in the modern sense of the word. Sure, they had a shared Hellenistic religion and culture, but they also had distinct 'city-states' that were each run by their own individual governments, meanwhile there was no federal power to unite them.
The 'Spartan Empire' was really just comparable to if say... Texas took over the United States. It's still the United States, but its ruled by Texans.
You get me?
Pretty small empire!
Most definitely, but Portugal was an empire too :P
i think an similar thing will happen to the usa if trump gets elected
