I think he said he'll be here till end of summer, it'll probably come out in August so maybe he'll stay until it's out or at least come back

To be fair, the negative space between her face and hair could easily be interpreted as headphones, especially with the hair ties being directly above them, looking like the head band across. If anything, I think it just goes to show how much music man fits in with the funtimes
I can't for the life of me see the headphones as a background! They're just so headphone-shaped, along with the little hair ties looking like the headphone ring thingy.

I absolutely agree with you. At first I did have doubts, but when I realized that the blue was probably in the background and not on the character then I realized that this was Circus Baby or (possibly) Eleanor, but also with the structure given in the drawing, Circus Baby is a lot more likely.

One of the odd details in the book was that you could just barely see fading pictures that had been on the walls in 1985 but they were covered up by a thin coat of yellow paint, just to the point that you couldn’t make them out. I love that they included that detail!

To clarify about Spring Bonnie from Into the Pit. He is actually not William Afton in the Spring Bonnie suit. Instead, Spring Bonnie in this story, is essentially this flesh monster within the suit that Oswald encounters. It is said in the book that Spring Bonnie has this organic appearance, with a ragged jaw and two rows of sharp fangs. To put it bluntly, Spring Bonnie in Into the Pit is essentially a demon.

As a Norwegian, having the opening minutes of this video be about missing Ylvis was a whiplash 😭 For anyone curious they still make music and are two very promintent Norwegian comedics, and have several TVshows and apparances. Was not aware people outside of Norway knew any of their songs except What Does The Fox Say hahaha

Forgive me for bursting the Music Man bubble, but I’m pretty sure the MM poster is actually Baby. You can see her green eyes and more red-tinged cheeks. Mat is seeing the red as the background with the blue being headphones, but I think the blue is the background and the red bits are Baby’s pigtails and the tops of her poofy sleeves. You can also see the collar of her dress. When looking at images of the animatronics and the poster side-by-side, it looks a lot closer to Baby. I could def be wrong-- Baby is my favorite animatronic ever (next to the Puppet) based on her story and voice acting so I could be biased or tricking my own eyes lol. To be fair though the blue is a lot brighter so my brain brought it to the foreground at first.
Edit: I also don't think any version of Music Man has blue headphones? I'd have to check that but to my knowledge that's not a thing
Also yeah, Springtrap looking at you from outside the suit is probably the scariest he's ever looked. Super excited to see where they go with this game since this art style is so new for the franchise and there's lots of opportunities for TERRIFYING stuff.

I can't remember if this is one of MatPat's theories, but I do remember hearing a theory that Oswald would grow up to become the rogue game developer who made FNAF 1-6 in the in-game universe, and that continuity inconsistencies between the original set of games and the modern games and the books stem from his only actual knowledge being from his traumatized memories through the ball pit.
That this particular story out of all the possible stories in the Fazbear Frights books was chosen to be the basis for the next game lends some weight to that theory.
It was a MatPat theory.

The main feather in the cap of circus theory is that it really makes balloon boys design makes sense back when balloon boy was first introduced. He was kind of the odd ones out, and even when the fun time animatronics came in, he still was different enough not to fit in perfectly.

Yep. Oddly enough I feel more optimistic than I did as a child now that I'm older but I'm an outlier. That and I might be bipolar and undiagnosed which would explain why I feel high highs and low lows. Idk how I've made it this far tbh but if you don't find hobbies it's really easy to view life as meaningless and feel like your emotions just serve a purpose to continue making more of our species. (That's what elementary me thought. Remnants of it linger now but y'know. I'm a teenager who grew up being cynical and while nothing traumatic happened to justify the paranoia, I watched a lot of true crime once I was old enough to understand)

Personally I think this game is how Scott is confirming Into the pit as cannon to the games timeline, and I think he’ll pick and choose to make simple games like this about each book story he considers cannon, I don’t think all the stories are cannon so we’ll only see games for the ones that are and I think they’ll be changes to the stories so they fit into the games cannon
I hope books aren’t completely canon, that would mean that the storylines in the books that aren’t in the games themselves is real, and that makes me kinda peeved
If they were to pick, the canon ones would most likely be those connected to The Stitchwraith Stingers
The hitch is how the Fazbear flights books are rather directly not game continuity canon, and by proxy neither is the stitchwraith storyline. Into the pit rather directly shows an different version of the MCI with 6 kids and with the bodies out in the open. The game continuity is rather clear about the MCI being 5 kids with the bodies never found. There's your TLDR of why Stitchline doesn't work. Probably more funky differences but those 2 are really hard to argue books are canon when those events are depicted differently. Mats explaining this around 35:00 ish as I'm writing it same explanation

I don't think any were viral, but "Bardcore" was a fad for a while there. Basically parodying songs in Early-Modern English with a Medieval theme, and even a few legit Anglo-Saxon and Latin ones. Favorites of mine include _Land Down Under_ and _I Want it That Way_ by Steeldruid, and _Closer_ by ElectroKaplosion.

34:07 Just an idea, perhaps the fall fest was where Henry Emily originally showed his "lifelike animatronics" eventually taking fall fest to the toen where the games take place. This would mean that Fall fest 1970 is when Afton first sees Henry's animatronics. Afton then offers to go into business with Henry and after hesitaion Henry agrees, which is why the original four from FNAF 1 are so prevalent in both Fall fests.
It's not quite a meme or parody song in the way you're talking, but "I Got My Tooth Removed" by 100 Gecs is a ska song about needing to get a tooth pulled, but sounds like pining over a lost love at parts.

Speaking of FNAF Books.
There is a novelisation of the FNAF Movie writter by one of the co-writers from the FNAF Book series.
It can help give a bit of perspective to the Movie.
Since the book has the advantage of actually being able to give you a look into the character's inner thoughts.

Sorry i just wanted to add, on the menu thing for Jeff’s pizza, one of the options is ‘no cheese - 1/2 beef’, and i know it seems like the game so far is making a whole lot of references to stuff.
But yeah i think that option might be a reference to this one post someone made where they ordered and received “none with left beef”, so nothing [including cheese] except for beef on the left 1/2 of the pizza.
It has no relevance to fnaf but i thought I’d mention it because i think it’s kinda funny if they intentionally referenced that post.

@isobeldoran1188 it's on the first M for Mushroom. It goes as follows, M R G O R E (when going down from that letter.) I'm going to assume it's just a coincidence. Because why would they put gore in it other then for it to be there. That's like a horror game having the word horror in it.
Driving me crazy that they had a whole segment talking about the poster, and didn't realise it very clearly looks like a smiling Baby. I think it's supposed to imply that yes, Circus Baby's Pizza World was around as a separate business.
I just realized while Mat was talking about it, Into the Pit and the other books foreshadowed Scott's giving FNaF over to Steelwool with the concepts about how old abandoned FNaF needed a security guard or would have other things built up on top of it.
This is kind of sad as it resonates with mat taking a step back from youtube aswell and giving the channels to younger and fresher minds 😭

A few years later and Scott is still taking inspiration from Chuck E Cheese history. I love it. A lot of chuck e cheese and the sister location got repurposed into other pizza places to make use of the endos of the animatronics that the franchise owners spent so much money on.

I just found Into the Pit book in my country, but in Portuguese they translated as "Mergulhando na Escuridão" which basically means "Diving in the Darkness" and I think this changes competelly the vibe since Fetch also got change to "Caçador" that it "Hunter" in English. So maybe the new game won't be the literal story of the book but a "metaphor" to it?

it was because he and his dad had gotten into an argument before he was dropped off, so Oswald decided he would make his dad look for him instead of making it easy, and when he came out of the ball pit again he realised no time had passed. Until later, because apparently time _only_ passes present-day when you’re getting chased by springtrap in 1985. This leads to the dialogue you just saw from the dad “why would you hide in that nasty old thing, didn’t you hear me calling you?” Which I’m fairly certain is the scene right before he gets taken back into the pit by Springtrap and Springtrap replaces him.
Edit: another odd detail is every time except the first time he goes into the pit, he counts to 100 before climbing out. This never leads anywhere so it’s unclear if it’s important.
Can we have a once-a-week/month series with Ash reading and analyzing the FNAF books, please? 😮 I'd be so down for that. ❤

I haven't seen anyone mention this already but 43:28 when he is talking about even Bonnie's guitar being there, there is also a Foxy plush in the dumpster and a Happy Frog mask behind the two bags in front of the dumpster. There definitely is a Funtime Freddy/Helpy mask or something in the other dumpster though. It is hard to make out but you can see the top hat and ears on it.
I haven't seen anyone mention the broken Lefty mask directly left of Helpy which makes the timeline placement even stranger
Okay but there is a high chance that this game could be used to travel back to different moments in fnaf because it might be a 10 yr anniversary game. This game could be a reflection and clarification for stuff that we still don't know and we could have springtrap / Oswalds Dad as a threat throughout the game
But since it's a book story, I feel like the community would be forever debating if it's cannon or in a different continuity entirely lol

Yoghurt is a great Ylvis song, and A Capella which is a parody on Pentatonix. I would never have expected the Ylvis intro, as a Norwegian, I've just considered them my little secret to share to give a taste of Norway to others. Ylivs is still doing stuff btw, they're currently doing Taskmaster Norway, and sometimes they perform the old songs.
Love the visual direction the franchise is taking, it feels more fitting than the 3D low-texture graphics that security breach had.

so actually, to sau something on the beginning of the video, the Ylvis brothers, run (or atleast ran) a tv show after they made multiple songs however it is in norwegian
my first thought was that this “book-game” is meant to help us discern what about the books is canon to the games (or the other way around), like this game is a way of explaining things in the books and games in one story

22:50 this is a really cool reference to how in the book it’s a continuous event for Oswald to mention there being faded silhouette’s on the walls that were painted over when Jeff took over the pizzaria (also his name is Jeff not Jerry I checked the book) and seeing the original murals after going in the ball pit
The fact that we're seeing so many animatronics from so many points in the timeline (DJ Music Man, Trash and the Gang, Helpy, etc.) all in one place, in a game that so heavily features time travel, is very interesting to me.
Sidenote - my hypothesis (MY GAME HYPOTHESIS) is that the lore of this game, because there almost certainly will be hidden lore, is that it will be hidden in a similar manner to Fnaf World. I think Into The Pit is only the main game we're playing. On the surface it's a retelling of lore and information we already know, converted into a new medium. However, if we dig very very deep, that's where we'll find new information.
